Do not use these guys. They straight out lied about moving us. They told us they did not want to move some heavy items down the basement stairs. We have a walk out basement and they asked us if we would mind if they came back when the weather improved at no extra charge and move the items then. They owners father was actually at my house during the move and told us they would do this. Well, a few days later I called to schedule the appointment and guess what? They wanted more money. I asked to speak to the owner 3 days in a row and the receptionist kept telling me that «Matt» would call me. He never did. I finally gave up and took care of it myself. Please take my advise, unless you want your movers to only do part of the job and leave the heavy lifting to you, call someone else. These guys are a scam.

Working with A Few Good Men was a pleasure from the beginning. Matt was the only mover to come to the house to do an estimate. His was the second lowest, but I felt more confident with his company. The movers were very respectful of our stuff. They drove from Wake Forest to Asheville and stayed over to find they couldn’t get the truck out of the hotel parking lot because of the previous night’s ice storm. I was impressed that Matt was very concerned for the safety of his movers. After waiting for the sun to melt the ice they moved everything in and did a great job. They reassembled everything perfectly and were very patient when I changed my mind a couple of times about the placement of furniture. I would highly recommend AFGM.

DO NOT USE these movers! We have had a HORRIBLE experience with this company.
They cashed out check but never came back to finish moving our items! There was some snow on the ground the day we moved. We could have shoveled a path for them to bring in our large items but they said not to worry and they would just come back on Wednesday after the snow had melted. When we called them to find out when they were coming on wed. they said it would be an additional $ 150!!! We asked the owner to call us to discuss why we were never told of an additional charge and he will not return our call. Our couch and desk are still sitting in the garage where they left them.
I would not recommend a business that treats their customers so poorly and with such disrespect.

I have known Matt and A Few Good Men Moving and Storage for many years and I am always happy with their service. Although I have not had the need to do a big move, A Few Good Men Moving and Storage always help me out in a pinch whether it’s an odd piece of furniture that needs moving within my house, or I need a bulky heavy item moved to my office in town. Every time I’ve needed help I’ve been able to get it done within 24 hours of my call.

I have used this company multiple times for work and personally. I can tell you they charge what was quoted (or less in my last move) The team that moved my house worked very hard, and I wasn’t paying for people to stand around. They wrapped the items that they needed to to prevent damage, did things to protect the floors and door from damage as well. Obviously very experienced at doing this. Great staff at the office to work with as well.

Fourth time using A Few Good Men and another 5 star review. I can’t say enough about this business. They are organized from the first telephone call. Amanda booked the move for me and was so professional! Of course, Matt the owner, and his assistant Jeff were so great and made this another terrific experience. You must call them if you are planning to move.

A few good men? I think not. The guys who come to your house and the woman on the phones are great — until something breaks. Then the owner is the rudest person you’ve ever met. My table got broken during the move, and since no one was at fault Matt and I agreed that we would each pay for half of the repair cost. He changed his mind later and threatened to take me to court! I would have highly recommended this company until the owner turned out to be such a difficult person to work with. Beware!

A Few Good Men did a very good job of moving my stuff. They were friendly and completed the move in the estimated time given. They gave me an hourly quote but the total price couldn’t be more than a certain amount. They also gave a discount for being a teacher. The only issue that I had was that it seemed like they were in a hurry. They dropped a small box of glasses and didn’t take out any of the dresser drawers (and almost dropped my customer made dresser when coming down the truck). Overall very good. Just maybe sign up for the better insurance in case they do break something expensive.

Save the time and go with this company! I did my fair share of shopping around, and this is definitely the ticket! Mr. & Mrs. Sharpstene accommodated all of my needs. I am a single female who lived in a second story apartment, with tons of HEAVY antique furniture. Everything ended up in my new third floor apartment looking flawless Thanks for a stress-​free move!
