I drove past this place for years. Last year my wife and I finally stopped. My wife had a lobster and I had the fried haddock. My goodness, it was fantastic. Now I’m just mad for all the times I could of stopped. Good stuff, the taste of summer.

Lobster roll is good– but not great. I would not return for the small watery roll. Too many folks are doing a great job with a smile on their face earning your money. In a phrase– I’m not a fan

Don’t waste your money. I understand in years past Day’s was the place to go for seafood in this part of Maine. The business was sold and now they are burning through customers and their reputation one person at a time. I recently went there and bought fried clams. My first thought was gee aren’t these expensive and can’t they throw in some fries and a drink for this price? Nope! Just the clams and they were burnt to a crisp and horrible. The uncleaned frying oil gave me heartburn all night long. Go ahead and go there, then you can copy my review and post it for yourself.

Stopped here 10-5-2015 with my wife and enjoyed an excellent lobster dinner. Great price and wonderful view!

Went at the end of the day. Maybe they were more focused on going home? Tried the combo plates & lobster roll. Waited a long time then told they were still working in the order. Eventually received order but fried clams were a bit muddy in the belly as well as greasy. Fries were a cold and not really great. Lobster roll was not to bad. Over all disappointed here with ordering after dropping $ 70.00 I would say try another place with better seafood & service. Over ½ hour plus wait and even cold slaw was spilt in the bag. Turned to go back from car with order closed sign up.

Visiting Maine for work. Traveling down the highway I spotted this place. Of course I had to stop. I only wanted one thing. The Lobster Roll. It’ll hit the wallet but it was really good. Just wish it was a little bigger. It helps that the view is so great. I’d make this a stop in your travels if you have the chance. Rather support a local place any day over a chain restaurant.

Fried clams were pretty good, but slightly greasy. Unfortunately, the lobster was a bit chewy and had a fishy taste. The roll and seasoning were not bad though. Crab was pretty good lots of meat.

I came here on a Thursday with some coworkers for a quick bite. The lobster roll was $ 13.99 and pretty tasty. I opted for one with mayo on the side, and it came with a dill pickle. If you happen to be in the area, this is not a bad place to stop for lunch. However, I wouldn’t recommend you go out of your way just to eat here. If you do come here, do yourself a favor and add on a side of hand cut fries.

We had read so many reviews on Cindy’s so that was our first choice, but it was closed for the season. We were bummed, but stopped here and were not disappointed. Roll was filled with lobster with just a little mayo, just the way we like it. Fries were great too, hand cut. Just what we were looking for.

Overpriced, but when in Maine, eat some lobster. Found myself in Maine on my way home from Quebec, so I stopped at this roadside lobster stand for some lobster. IT’s literally a stand. You order from a window on a side, pick it up, and eat at the picnic tables in the back. Grabbed a lobster roll, some steamers, and a lobster. They were all good, but overpriced. Lobster roll was pretty small for $ 15, you get way more lobster meat if you get a whole single lobster, which is cheaper too. The steamers and lobster were both good. But knowing that I could’ve bought them live/raw at half the price from their fish market next door made it taste less awesome.

Good lobster could of been a better portion but all in all great local place staff friendly and the area was nice and clean. Outdoor bathroom and plenty of seating. If there busy you can also park across the street

We just hit Maine and thought this looked great from the street. Awesome ambiance and good lobster roll… nice fried haddock sandwich too. The chowder was barely warm and there was something wrong with the diet coke. Expensive… $ 38.00 for 2 chowders, two sandwiches and one soda. View us great but picnic tables on grass instead of deck so buggy.

Lobstah Roll is a 4 out 5 Sweet lobster chunks, correct amount of mayo, solid buttered roll and lettuce free. Atmosphere: picnic benches by a stream Service: put your order in at one window and wait for your number to be called at another.

Fresh and tasty. Day’s is a roadside stand selling fresh seafood and prepared seafood. Crabmeat is their specialty. It is always fresh and has a very delicate taste. The crabmeat roll is plain but celebrates the pure fresh product. The clam chowder was average. The prepared seafood can be packed to go or eaten out back on picnic table. The view is lovely — the Royal River. Just a nice relaxing meal.

Ok, I did the ½ pint of fried clams again today. Did I say 4 stars in my earlier review? Well, I must have been delirious. Clearly a 5 star fried clam experience. If I can resist them, I may try something else. But why? Fried clams once a month while they’re open? Does’t seem like too much to me.

My 12-year-old son and I make it a point of never visiting the same restaurant twice. But this time we will need to make an exception. Best fish and chips in Southern Maine. Clean oil used for frying. Light batter. Not greasy. Great view. Casual outdoor picnic-table seating. Polite, quick and organized service. We will definitely be back.

This is hands down the best shack selling seafood in the area. I rescind the lobster roll, Haddock sandwich and the steamed clams. The quality of the lobster roll is outstanding plenty of lobster in a the roll with a great price. The haddock was delicate and tasty exceptional good value under $ 10. Highly recommend this place just of highway one.

If you love fried clams you must stop by here. Came here twice in one weekend cause the seafood is just fresh and nicely fried. Clam chowder was good as well! The blueberry crisp prob not worth coming for, but I’ll vouch for the fried clams, steamers, crab roll, and haddock nuggets!

thought my fried clams were sandy and a little fishy tasting, but I’m no connoseur. It’s New England but they don’t use those cool hot dog/clam/lobster roll rolls they sell/use in New England. All-in-all was underwhelmed and a little surprised given all the great reviews on Unilocal.I could go back and try something else, but there are so many other options around I won’t. P. S. Actually had some stomach troubles for a few days after eating here. Did eat other meals that day, so who knows. But I’m done with clams. And this clam shack.
