Excellent seafood basket!!! Beautiful relaxing location on the water. Quick service and the prices are good. Perfect little spot to have lunch.

Ok I’d never had a lobster roll and I was in Maine so I had to see what all the fuss was about. Honestly for almost $ 40 with French fries, I thought it was dreadful. It was cold and flavorless and bland. I’m pretty sure that will be my first and last.

This place is great for outdoor eating! We loved the lobster, not the clam cakes though. The seafood is very fresh! The burger was good. The desserts were not very inspiring, they looked beter on the manu then they tasted in real life.

Driving back to Portland from our trip Downeast, we originally had planned to stop at John’s ice cream in Liberty. John’s was closed. So, the only thing to console us… fried clams. This place is cash only, but they have an ATM. Want corn with that? You’ll have to go to the lobster window. Standard clam shack fare. Our clams and shrimp were tasty. The fries, meh. My corn? Not worth the walk on the slippery ramp in the rain. The lobster bisque? Run of the mill. Would I go back? I’d go here before Linda Bean’s, hell yeah! Also a good place to bring kids or 70 yr old aunts who want a grilled cheese!

I hadn’t eaten here is a few years, it’s off the beaten path for me but we had friends in from away and thought it would be a good place to go. I forgot they don’t take credit cards and it cost $ 3.50 for cash from the ATM for cash. The prices are a little pricey for the venue. My biggest disappointment was the wall/fence with the canopy overhead they constructed around the outdoor seating area. I might as well have been sitting inside but the views were better inside. Last time I was here, there were umbrellas at the picnic tables and a view of the water. The lobster bisque was good, bisque with lobster chunks, it could have used a bit more flavor but was good. I also had a lobster roll, packed full of lobster. I don’t think I will be coming back or recommending this place anymore. The wall fence is a big killer for me. When I eat on the water that close, I want to see the water and surrounding area, not a big wooden wall fence and no sun overhead.

I came in from Texas on business for one night and wanted fresh lobster. This is a no frills place, but it is definitely a local favorite because within 5 minutes of arriving it seemed like the whole neighborhood arrived. The lobster roll was excellent as was the clam chowder. In fact I liked the place so much, I came back the next day for lunch before heading back to Texas. There’s no alcohol which is fine, but I would have liked a beer. They only take cash so be prepared. You won’t go wrong here, but just know it’s not a sit down restaurant.

Giving 4 stars mostly for the view and the environment, and for feeling like you’re having a real dinner on the Maine coastline. You have to buy your drinks… which is slightly annoying… and the food isn’t super cheap, but you can tell that everything is fresh. I got a bucket of clams for $ 12(too many clams… should’ve gotten the lobster + clams combo for $ 20), and my boyfriend who hates seafood got a locally grown burger, which surprisingly very good. The clam chowder wasn’t the best we had on our trip, but filling – although a little small for the price. Sit at the bar facing the harbor though, and it’s totally worth the trip!

Went to this lobster shack near the LL Bean outlet in Freeport, Maine. The location is pretty and nice but the food was completely unimpressive at this location. I ordered the lobster and clam roll to share. After having enough lobster rolls at this point of the trip, this version had completely too much mayonnaise and not good quality lobster in my sandwich. The lettuce was soggy and took away from the bread, butter, mayo combination with the lobster roll. The clam roll(not full clams) was mostly breaking and unimpressive as well. Only thing that looked good that I didn’t try were the onion rings.

Atmosphere: scenery and picnic benches, directly on the water gives this spot its charm. Without GPS may be hard to find which adds to its charm. Service: order and wait for your number to be called! Food: lobstah roll was a solid 3.5 outa 5. Sweet meat but needed a bit of help with perfecting the roll. Everyone else seems to be enjoying a whole lobstah with corn and clams for $ 24.95. If your in Freeport the locals say this is the place to get a lobstah roll.

No, no, no. I REALLY dislike that this place has clearly been blinded by it’s fleeting stardom. It’s expensive, not that great(for the area I definitely expected more), and could even be considered a ripoff. Stopped here on a recommendation(I’ll take care of that person later) and came up to an outside area with a walk up window. When I see this I expect that if you spend that little on accommodations that you’ll be affordable. Wow, was I proven wrong. Ordered a drink and it was small. That was $ 2+ dollars with NO refills. They even ask you if you want to reuse your cup. I mean, yeah, to save the environment, sure, but seriously? Ugh. I ordered the lobster with extra butter(the only thing they gave me that was actually worth it) and some potatoes. It was expensive. They lobster, while okay, was small. Very small. And very expensive. It was just a full-on disappointment. I also ordered the strawberry shortcake. For $ 5+ dollars I expected more than a biscuit and a few strawberries with whipped cream. This place got on TV and now they’re acting like it. I won’t be back and I’m disappointed that I didn’t avoid this trap to begin with.

Haraseeket L and L is a throwback to casual Maine dining! It is pure enjoyment to snatch your lobster from the tanks and break it open with your bare hands… Save the tail for last and suck on the legs and pop open the claws… The Steamers and grilled corn are wonderful with the Lobster but the fried belly clams are a «Wow» I would also suggest a great Maine blueberry cobbler. They are always packed but the later the better as Maine is sleeping by 8PM. I think 745PM is the ideal time here to avoid the kine but the larger Lobsters may be sold out…

This place has a great view, and pretty good food. The seafood basket was decent(I’m not the biggest fan of shellfish), and the clam chowder was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but good. The desserts looked so yummy. There’s a huge variety of seafood and desserts here. Overall, the food wasn’t phenomenal, but it was a good experience. People who love shellfish will love this place.

The perfect seafood location! With nice exterior and delicious food. this is the place to go! Before you enter the area. You see the. Are you ready for this… By the sea seating! Just. Why. Not! This is one of the more primer parts of harriseeket! And when you actually get there. You have the most PERFECT experience! With things like extremely nice staff! With a smile wrapped around them! Perfect food! Savory. Sweet goodness in every bite! A large amount of condiments! Keep on sprucing up your precious food! And. Just. Great. Experiences! Overall. This is a perfect seafood place! If you want to go somewhere with memories to last a lifetime. GOHERE!

Well I had a lobster roll yesterday in Augusta, so I had to have another one before I left. It was good but much more expensive than the one I had yesterday. It was meaty and tasted very good. The seating area in the water was nice and that is probably why you pay a premium. I give it a 3.5 based on my dinner experience last night.

Rolled in after stopping at LL Bean. I think this place makes a bunch of «best lobstah roll» lists. The experience kind of reflects this, with a no-nonsense, keep-it-moving approach as soon as you walk through the door. It was raining so everyone was huddled inside, but we only waited a minute or two for a table at lunch. We both got the roll/chowdah combo. If you go for the whole lobstah you gotta go outside to pick it up. Drier items can be picked up at the pickup window out front. The chowdah was really good, nice and chunky with fresh ingredients. The roll was tasty, but a little bare, I thought. There are so many creative rolls these days that sometimes you need to add a little something. It was definitely very good, but not in my top 5. GF topped off her meal with a whoopie pie – eat at your own risk! It was pure sugary goodness. The meal is pretty pricey for what it is, but if you’re a lobstah roll aficionado, I wouldn’t count out Haraseeket.

Cozy little lobster pound with an incredible view of the water. Stop by for the view and stay around to grab a snack. Visit the back window for a fresh cooked whole lobster or even a lobster delight(1lb cooked lobster, corn, steamers for $ 25) if you’re feeling crazy. The lobster bisque is refreshingly different and made with a heavy dose of sherry, so don’t eat too much if you’re driving.

Having been born and raised in Maine, I’ve definitely had my fair share of lobster rolls. I, unfortunately, only had the opportunity to visit Harraseeket once but my experience left me very impressed. Sure, you can find cheaper prices, but for the quality and quantity, I felt that it was reasonable. I order the lobster roll. When it came out, my 8 month old daughter grabbed it from the table, landing it on the floor. One of the workers saw what happened and immediately made me another one, free of charge. Great service goes a long way, so I definitely appreciated the gesture. My grandmother had ordered the crab cake basket. At first, we both looked at it with disgust. The crab cakes were black. I couldn’t believe a restaurant would serve something so burnt. Oddly enough, they were incredible. The best crab cakes I’ve ever had. Overall, a great experience and it’s definitely on my list of places to go, next time I visit.

All you need to know: 1) The lobster roll is light on mayo, heavy on good chunks of tail and claw meat. 2) The scallops are absolutely perfect and tender. 3) The shrimp tastes fresh and really could be eaten like popcorn. 4) The whole boiled lobsters are around back. 5) All of the above are the best in Maine.

I visit this place a couple times every summer. Each time, I wonder why I don’t visit more often. The location is great! The food is as you would expect from a ‘clam shack’ — nothing out of the ordinary. But if you are looking for a quintessential Maine seafood dinner on the waterfront, this place fits the bill. They have a comprehensive menu of all the typical fried seafood choices — shrimp, scallops, clams, fish. In addition, they have the rolls — lobster, crab, etc. Of course, you can also get the traditional steamed dinner — lobster, clams, corn on the cob, and a slice of blueberry pie. Pretty much every tourists dream. And, honestly, probably the best deal here — only $ 24.99 the day I visited(varies daily bases on «market».) A few notes. They have three windows for ordering. The first one is for desserts only, the next is for the standard fried fare, and the third(which is around the corner in the back), is for lobster/steamers. Also, it is BYOB for alcohol. And, finally, while the view is great and the food solid, this is a pretty pricey treat(maybe that’s why I don’t go more?!?). And, they take cash only, to boot. They do have an ATM on site, but it does have a steep fee– $ 3.50 I think.

Nice spot, I just wanted to update folks with four legged friends that their pet policy has changed. When you arrive they have a pretty sign noting that pets aren’t allowed at the picnic tables by the take out window, instead they have a few tables arranged in the back of the parking lot. It’s fine and they have a trash bin there too. We’re going down a star since the fries weren’t as good as last year. We did try the light batter clam belly plate($ 24.50) this time and it was thumbs up, but still the scallop plate is hands down the best($ 21) and $ 1.95 for a soda. The woman at the takeout counter and the teenager manning the parking lot were super friendly too. Thanks!
