Established in 1957.

Yakima Valley Tourism has been the area’s Destination Marketing Organization for over 50 years. Our organization also includes the Sports Commission, Convention Center, and Visitor Information Center.

Meet the Manager

John C.

Manager

John Cooper graduated from the University of Oregon. In addition, he is a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organization Management at U.C.L.A.

John is the President & CEO of the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau, a position he has held since June 2007. Prior to that, he was CEO of Bellingham/​Whatcom County Tourism for fourteen years. Past professional experiences include being Executive Director of the Southern Oregon Visitors Association and the Corvallis Convention and Visitors Bureau.
