The Adobe Resort

Great food and awesome for the pup’s! The rooms are very clean and nice, most times you can see whales from your room.

I can not wait to come back to this place! Our room was clean and large and looked just like the pictures. Our beds were super comfortable, the mattresses seemed new and we had tons of pillows, we had a fireplace and microwave and mini fridge. In the dressing area they had a box fan and extra comforters if you needed them. But non of the even matters, I would come back to this place even if it wasn’t a amazing place to lay my head just for the view. We had just stayed a place the night before that advertised amazing views and it turned out that was only possible if you stuck your neck out and stretched so we were a little doubtful but boy did this place come through. As soon as you opened the sliding glass door you could hear the waves crashing (we left it open all night to sleep to the sound of the waves) and we had a little patio with 2 chairs and the best view of one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. It was amazing and I have about 200 pictures to prove it. I also like that they had benches even closer to the edge if you wanted a closer look.
We ate dinner at their restaurant that night and it was amazing. The staff was really nice and on point, we never had to ask for a refill or anything and our waitress was happy to explain everything and give recommendations (the hardest part was narrowing it down). Being from New Orleans we eat a lot of seafood so when traveling we try to stay away but we decided to have the Adobe Baked Crab Pot and the Scallops au Beurre Blanc and split it. Best meal we had our entire trip, my mouth is drooping just thinking about it. Also they have lights that shine outside so you can see the waves even after sunset and they had windows open so you could hear the waves crashing which I thought was a nice touch.
This place was great all around, the room, the view, the staff, the beds, everything. I don’t have a single negative thing to say except I wish I could come back sooner.

I was really pleased with this property. We were traveling back from CA with family and our party of 6 stayed in the two bedroom suite. The kitchen and bathroom was all granite, very nice leather sofas and chairs in the TV room, and nice sized bedrooms with comfortable beds and linens. We also ordered dinner from the onsite restaurant and were all very pleased with the food. We will be back for sure!

Paid $$$ for the hot-​tub suite overlooking the OCEAN! Ha Ha. Paid extra to overlook the neighborhood! Very disappointed! Blinds on one window did not go down so we had NO PRIVACY for the evening. When I spoke to the desk clerk, her reply was, «thank you for telling me and you are free to go!» Mmmm… free — NOT coming back NO!!! Gave it 3 stars because the room was AMAZING — spacious, well decorated and VERY CLEAN. I expected to get an ocean view because that IS WHAT THE ROOM STATED I WAS GETTING. False advertising! Staff needs more training! Taking my $$$ elsewhere!

When I made reservations for a 5 night stay, I requested a room facing northwest, which had a sliding door and two outside chairs for our use, we had the use of this room previously and I asked the girl on the telephone to double check that she was in fact reserving the same room. You’ve guessed it, They got it WRONG… it’s Friday night when we arrive with a full house, but front desk promised to relocate us on Sunday when most of the guests would be checking out. Did they remember or honor their promise, NO!!! Had further talks with 3 different people at the front desk, including the original booking clerk (she actually remembered our conversation from 5 weeks ago, full marks for that!!) now with hope in my heart at finally finding a competent person with intact short term memory who would take ownership for her gaff and rescue her credibility by relocating us, alas NO, Hopeless!!! She and the rest of them just couldn’t care less about hospitality, customer service or doing the right thing by people. There is no management, pride of ownership or sense of mission in this place.
The halls are filthy, the stains remain the same as last time, like old friends just aging grimely. Chemicals are sprayed liberally by housekeeping to mask the odor of the place so I promise your allergies will act up even in this lovely fresh climate.
Now for the piece de resistance, the restaurant, prime real-​estate, with fabulous views and sub prime food!!! We ate dinner two nights in succession and felt quesy both evenings. as a badge of honor the waitress stated that their butter is not real butter!!! OMG any wonder we felt sick from faux institutionalized greasy food!!! my husband wants to try their hot cakes… perhaps we should bring our own butter! They have a captive audience, we were too tired to go elsewhere to dine, best to get a snack from the vending machine!!!
Only positive is they haven’t converted to the ‘no gluten’ craze raging like wildfire in these parts.

Don’t be fooled by the name. This is no resort. Unless we’re talking the kind that starts with «last.»
The room smelled musty. The furniture was dirty. The décor was dated. The bed was uncomfortable.
Admittedly, the rooms opening onto the ocean have an impressive outlook, but the well-​traveled 804 Trail passes right outside your patio door, meaning you have to make the impossible choice between privacy and a lovely view.
None of these things would have motivated me to write this review if not for what happened at the end of my stay.
A hotel employee’s negligence caused damage to my car. The manager did a good job of placating me in the moment. She was apologetic, took down my information, and promised to reimburse me once I sent her three (!) estimates for the repair cost. But then the hotel ignored my subsequent emails and voicemails.
At best, they were simply incompetent in failing to get back to me. At worst, they decided, «There’s no way this schnook from San Francisco is going to sue us all the way up here in Oregon over a couple hundred bucks, so let’s just blow him off.»
Either way, it speaks very poorly of this hotel.

Beautiful site on the Central Oregon coast. This is a classic property, not new but well maintained and appointed; You will love the new beds. Really the take away is the staff, well done all around.

I stayed here over valentines day weekend with my girlfriend and we liked it a lot. unfortunately didn’t get a room with a view because I was late making reservations but we were super stoked on the room we got. It was huge and had two beds. My online itinerary said slandered room w/​queen size bed so I was surprised to see two but there was no difference in price. The hotel is right on coast and gives you a spectacular view of the ocean from the lounge or restaurant. I guess my biggest complaint is the food seemed over priced but we just made food in our room. All in all we had a pleasant experience.

**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING HERE**
I will start this by saying that we have stayed at the Adobe multiple times and WAS our favorite place to stay but the last two times we have stayed there we have had BIG issues!
During our latest stay we checked in later in the evening and were tired from our 4 hour drive and decided to have dinner from the restaurant (see my review for details) in our room and turn in for the evening. After eating we were getting ready for bed and my girlfriend was laying on the bed and said she smelled something musty and discovered that she had her head in a URINE spot on the sheets. Yes, you read that right, URINE which was soaked through to the mattress. Exhausted and it being late we decided to shower up and go to sleep on the other queen bed and bring this to the attention to the manager in the morning. The other bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, lumpy, and broken. When we informed the front desk clerk about the PISS soaked sheets and mattress she was less than sympathetic, apologetic, or offered any sort of refund. There wasn’t a manager on duty at the time and we checked out of that room because we were booked to stay in a different room the next two nights. When we came back that evening I talked to the night desk clerk and again wasn’t given a feeling like the horrific previous night was a big deal to her. When I asked to upgrade to a whirlpool suite (which are next to the window) she said there wasn’t anything available but she had a jacuzzi suite (which is in the middle of the room) and would give me the «internet price» discount amounting to a whopping $ 10. Again no offer to upgrade for free, refund the previous nights stay, etc. Again I asked to speak to a manager and there was not going to be one on duty until the day we checked out so I made it VERY clear I wanted to speak to her and watched the clerk right down the message. We then decided to go to dinner and my girlfriend had said that she had checked online to see if a whirlpool suite was open and low and behold it was. So she called as a weary traveller coming through Newport and asked if they had any whirlpool suites available. Guess what… there was a whirlpool suite open and the clerk offered to book the room for her right then. After dinner I confronted the clerk and she again said there was nothing available and if I didn’t believe her I could check for myself and motioned for me to come look at her computer. (As if I would know what I was looking for if I was to look anyway) After checking out I asked to speak to the manager and was told that she wasn’t going to be in until noon and it was 10am. I reiterated my demand to have her call me immediately when she got in. We stayed in the area until about 3pm and I hadn’t received a call yet and decided to go in and talk to the manager. She said that she was «investigating» the complaint and was busy so that was why she didn’t call me back. After talking with her for a while she was apologetic and at least offered to refund my entire stay. She also told me that there was NO manager, that she was just doing the job (she is the events coordinator), and that the staff is new and/​or needs to be trained.
The time before the above disgusting, revolting, health hazard of a stay we had an issue as well. We were staying in the whirlpool suite and the bed was basically broken and uncomfortable. We woke up on the first morning and both felt like we were broken in half. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk they actually were apologetic, said they would send up maintenance if it was ok for them to be in the room if we weren’t there, and would call me with what they found or replace the bed. We were out all day and didn’t get a call so we assumed that the bed was replaced and headed up to the room. It appeared as someone had been in the room and the bed had been remade. The next morning (check out day) we woke up just as broken as before and pulled the mattress away from the foundation and found their solution… a SHEET OF PLYWOOD between the mattress and foundation. Infuriated, we went down to the front desk and demanded some answers. No manager on duty, different clerk on duty and no notes on file of problems led to no answers. I asked for a manager to contact me and I never did hear from one.
This is so disappointing to us because we loved staying here and I will not recommend or stay here until I’m satisfied they fix their customer service, management, and accommodations.
— Wi-​fi is basically unusable (so slow)
— Restaurant food is not acceptable and they charge a mandatory 15% tip when taking food to room
— Décor is old and outdated

Room was dirty, wound up on lower floor and door to patio did not lock. Floor was peeling, molding of floor was not tacked down. This place has gone way down hill in last year.

They are poised for greatness… but the management is poor. We had a reservation for 22 in the back room. The restaurant was very empty that night. We had 30 show up for our event. They about had a stroke. Really? Two four-​tops throws you into chaos? It took 2 and ½ hours for some of our people to get served. The wait staff couldn’t wait to tell us how horrible we were. Really? We assured them we were flexible and patient… and they still treated us like ugly step children. Wouldn’t go back.

If you are driving the coast, you want a place on the water, right? Well, the Adobe is an affordable spot. They have rooms with fireplaces and tiny decks that walk right out to the water! They have pet-​friendly rooms. Although we didn’t bring our dogs this trip, we enjoyed seeing the various dogs being walked by our back window.
The hotel is a little dated, but the bed was comfy. The room had a nice sized tv, refrigerator and microwave. The room was fairly clean… I would have said exceptionally clean, but I looked behind the bathroom door. :/​
The check-​in process was easy. The office staff were pleasant. Really no complaints!

We came to the Adobe to celebrate mine and my husband’s anniversary weekend. We’ve been to Yachats and the coast and were really looking forward to staying at the Adobe.
The staff were very helpful and allowed us to upgrade for our anniversary, without hesitation (we paid still… duh). The room we were in was on the second floor… with a view of the parking lot. We could have had a room with a view for a whopping 50 dollars more a night.
When we got into the room, other than the lack of a view the room exceeded our expectations. The bed was soft and super comfy. There was a nice giant bathroom and separate living room area.
The restaurant had great prices for breakfast and lunch, however dinner seemed wayyyy to expensive for the quality. We preferred their lounge area… they had a great selection of food and drinks (happy hour is the way to go) and had a wonderful view of the water and patrons are able to take their drinks and walk along outside.
MY BIGGEST issue was the fact that our room for the first two nights was located right next door to the game and laundry room. We could hear the laundry being run at all times of the day from parts of the room. When we went to lay down for some rest we could here pounding sounds coming from the game room, as well as the sound of running, and clear conversations people were having.
Great value, if you aren’t next door to these two places.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We got a jacuzzi suite with the jacuzzi overlooking the water. Huge room, great staff. Great boarding security. We watched whales everyday during breakfast from the restaurant. The restaurant was delicious, ate there three days straight and it never faltered. Well definitely be returning

Great hotel on the beach. Super clean and quiet. We were on our way up the coast and stopped in happenstance. Food was Great.
Only downside was I thought it a bit pricey for off season.

If your looking for an upscale hotel this is not it. If you just want views then you will be happy here. The rooms are in need of a make over in a bad way. They have rope lighting laying on the floor in a pool because it’s to long for the length of the wall & tub. The bed is not facing the window so you can look out at the ocean, it faces the tv, but there’s a couch at the end of the bed that you can’t see over to watch tv. The hotel is not worth the price of the room.

This is a very nice hotel located right on the beach in Yachats. The room we had was spacious and clean and had a wonderful ocean view. The price was much more reasonable than I would expect for an ocean view room (we reserved online and that brought the price down a bit). We could walk to the beach and tidepools right out of the hotel.
My only negatives are that I found the gift shop in the lobby a bit cheezy and the room could actually have used AC… hard to believe in Oregon, but it was a particularly warm weekend.

We are cycle tourists and the staff at the Adobe were really helpful storing our bikes in a secure area.

What a great find! Large spacious rooms for a family, and, if you are lucky, rooms with a great view of the ocean. Experience topped off by a whale sighting just off the property! Wonderful!

The room, maids, view and grounds rate five stars.

I carried two hands-​full of luggage to the motel and found the two entry doors had to be pulled open: a slight inconvenience. The ground floor, ocean-​view room was spacious with two beds, a desk and chair, two armchairs and table and a gas fireplace. The The view from the room and patio was great, lawn, rocky beach and ocean.
The fireplace was idiot-​prooof: Open the grill to access the controls, the label said. I pulled on the wrong place and the entire fireplace came out of the wall, but was easily pushed back in.
We opened the heavy drape to look out the floor to ceiling window and door and immediately came under surveillance. A gull walked up on the patio and peered in. The next day, I sat on the patio to eat lunch. A gull quickly flew in and stood close by. I tossed it a piece of my sandwich and immediately several more gulls landed on the lawn fronting the patio and two landed on the partition separating our patio from the adjoining one. They were polite; they didn’t try to steal my food, but eyed me with great interest and the first gull and a juvenile gave little chirps of hunger.
Dinner at Adobe: I ordered the shrimp stir fry. Fresh vegetables and rice were drowned in a sweet sauce. All I could taste with the so-​so sauce. The person next to me ordered vegetables and baked potato; he got vegetables and rice. The hot water for tea was not refilled; the waiter didn’t know the ingredients of the dishes.
We were there for a conference the included a ccontinental breakfast and box lunch: not so good.
