Fireside Motel

Like a best kept secret I have to say. The ocean couldn’t be any closer. The rooms are clean and quiet from our own experience. They allow pups too and for this time of year prices are very reasonable. We got a break because they are also doing a canned food drive so you can get 20% off as well.
They have towels and a sheet with a couple of dog biscuits for your pooch which they give you at the same time as your key at the desk.
They are doing some remodeling so be patient but we got a newer room because of that.
Town is very close by with lots of great restaurants as well. The hotel itself is right on the 804 trail so you can just leave your room and walk to the beach. can’t get better than that.

I just read through other reviews. I guess several of the staff were in terrible moods when we were there a few days ago. Our main complaint was horrible treatment by the staff but also the noisy creaking floors over our heads. when we came back from breakfast we saw that our room had not been made up. I went into the office and politely mentioned that we were going out for lunch and would like the rooms made up. The woman there said she would do that. I asked her about staff leaving for the day because that had happened to us before at another motel and our room never was cleaned. She assured me it would be done. We came back hours later with friends. Imagine our shock going into our room with beds unmade. I went to the office and was told someone checked a box on a chart that said we did not want our room cleaned. That woman told me it must be a communication problem, sorta implied it was me who had the communication problem. No apologies from any of the various staff people we saw during our time there. Never going back there. Other motels at Yachats were great!

Very cute hotel right on the beach. The ladies that work in the lobby are extremely helpful and nice. We accidentally left two large beers we had bought from their gift shop in our room fridge when we left. One of the ladies left me a voicemail saying they found them and credited them back to our room. So sweet! Thank you!

Me and my adventure buddy decided to go see Thor’s well and stay overnight in Yachats for the first time. Checked Unilocal and this place got good reviews so for $ 100 a night we decided to give a try. Room was a queen size bed, 2 overstuffed chairs, tv, charging dock, microwave, fridge, free breakfast and close to the beach and a few miles of trails. Our room had a view of the parking lot and the rooms with patios are the pet rooms with views of the water. Which was fine because the water was so close. They also have a little store at the check in desk for souvenirs and snacks and in the morning its the place for breakfast. Which was fruit, muffins, coffee and tea. Place was clean but a bit older. We could hear our neighbors but because we spent the day walking the shore and discovering Yachats, after we took showers we passed out and didn’t wake up until 8. This motel served its purpose and provided us with a clean, comfortable place to sleep. I would definitely recommend it.

My review of this motel is fairly limited as we got in after the sun went down and left early in the morning. However, I will try to do it justice…
The lobby staff here were great. I let them know my husband and I would be arriving late at night and they gave us instructions on how to get checked in. When we showed up after the lobby was closed, we got a little information packet and our key and made our way to our room.
Our room was simple and clean with a outdoor deck. Even though we missed the sunset and couldn’t see the ocean due to the darkness, being able to hear the waves was really relaxing. I sat outside on our deck with my beagle and just listened. We went to sleep shortly after and were up early the next morning. My guy and I took our dog for a walk along the simple trail along the water and then headed back to the motel to get checked out. We didn’t have any issues with this motel and loved the location! We hope to be back soon!

Very nice, clean dog friendly hotel in a beautiful spot, friendly staff, clean room, nice balcony facing ocean with spectacular view. Wooded immediately south of hotel to walk dog for potty area wigh bags provided for clean up. We’re going to return next time we come with pets for sure. Really enjoyed path along coast and beach access at low tide.

The Fireside is a very basic motel in an incredible place. A gorgeous, rocky beach is just steps away. It has old-​fashioned furnishings, but is kept scrupulously clean. The biggest plus, aside from location, is that it’s pet friendly. They provide pet owners with extra sheets and towels for keeping dog hair off the furniture and for keeping puppies clean. The biggest minus is the sound. I could hear every step taken by the people over me. I am guessing that the second floor rooms are much quieter.
I couldn’t get an ocean view room, because I booked at the last minute, but they look very nice with their little outdoor seating areas overlooking the Pacific. There is a lovely walking trail along the shoreline. Even in the room that’s farthest from the ocean, I can hear the waves.
Breakfast included hard boiled eggs, scones, a selection of hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The room has a coffeemaker, microwave, and mini-​fridge.

We pulled up to The Fireside Hotel after riding all day. There were two rooms left and we choose the the queen bed. After looking it over we noticed that the tub was not drained. We talked with the front desk and they sent a maintenance worker right up. Meanwhile Kevin and I went on a walk. When we got back we met the maintenance man. He told us that he wasn’t able to fix the drain. As we were about to go talk to the front desk the phone rang! It was the front desk offering us a room with a king size bed and a view, for the same price, in their sister hotel right next door. We took them up on the offer. The bed, in both rooms, was comfortable. The views were beautiful. Our continental breakfast was excellent. The eggs, branded granola, and fresh fruit were delicious. I highly recommend both The Fireside and Overleaf Lodge.

I can’t really say enough about how great our stay was here. We booked online and had to change the reservation last minute. The woman at the front desk canceled one of our bookings and helped us find a new room the same night without charging us a cancellation fee. Every staff member we encountered was so personable and eager to help. The motel allows dogs, so we got to interact with a lot of sweet put during our stay too. The best part, though, was the location. Even though it’s right off the highway, the inn is nestled between the forest and a beautiful rock outcropping, which is just a few hundred feet from any of the rooms on-​site.

For the price paid and the view I would give it 5 stars. The bed was very hard and the staff was a 3 at best. The trims need updating.
The weather was freezing and town is less than charming. They do allow dogs and there are lots of places to walk them. The continental breakfast would have been better if toast was served. The lemon poppyseed muffins were amazing! I would come back.

The two of us and the pup enjoyed yet another stay at the Fireside (4^th stay). As usual, it is spectacular for the scenery and photographing sunsets with the craggy rock coast as your foreground. Wonderful path that leads north (and south) to a sandy beach to run the doggy.
The folks are very nice and you can bring our dog inside when checking in to get a treat for Fido. They give you a doggy bag of towels and a sheet for the bed.
As the «room tips» page says, get a second floor oceanFRONT, not to be confused with oceanview. Get your wine going and sit on the deck and just STARE! Then as sleep comes over you, leave the door open a bit to hear the crashing waves all night.

Hubby and I stayed here for Valentine’s Day with our corgi. We got an oceanfront king room with a balcony and fireplace. It was wonderful! We can’t wait to go back.

Surprisingly delightful! We stayed at the Fireside for an inaugural trail race in October, and it was the perfect spot to stay. We were walking distance from the start line, and our room was on the second floor looking straight out onto the Pacific Ocean. Being October, the weather was unpredictable, and pouring rain when we arrived.
Service was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean, warm, safe and well maintained. Nothing over the top, but a good place to rest your head. We were very happy the room had a mini-​fridge for us to store all our food for the morning.
Continental breakfast was a nice touch, and it’s a shame there isn’t more room for people to sit down. It seems there’s two cushioned chairs, and that is it. Otherwise you grab your oatmeal/​cereal/​boiled egg and head back to your room. Also, the wifi signal was very weak, which is needed for us foreigners (without american cell phones) to maintain contact and plan the rest of our trip.
Would I come back? Yup. I have nothing to complain about at the Fireside, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling down the Oregon Coast.

Fireside is simply one of the best places I’ve ever stayed (dog friendly, yay!!) My friend and I were road tripping earlier this summer. My friend who is incredibly adept at finding gems (restaurants, hotels, bars, etc) happened upon Fireside via some app she was using on her phone.
Fireside accommodated our extremely late arrival by leaving our key onsite despite the fact that they close at 10pm and even gave us a deal on the room given our late arrival. We arrived around 1am, easily found our key and made our way to our room. The moment we walked into our beautiful clean room (with fireplace), saw our view via the private completely fenced in deck (for woofs), we agreed immediately that we would stay another night (imagine two people looking at each other and at the same time saying we’re totally staying here another night). Despite the fact that we were road tripping to Montana, we decided that there was no way we were going to miss out on enjoying not only Fireside but Yachats in general.
Fireside is directly located on the 804 Trail which is a beautiful 7 mile path through Yachats. We walked (with the woof) from our room to downtown Yachats and loved not only the ocean views along the path but the beautiful homes that line the path.
The town is amazing, the people are genuine and the landscape is beyond words. Fireside just felt like home. We didn’t want to leave. Not sure how often you can say that about a motel. Looking forward to our next visit.

sure the décor was dated, but look outside and see the real beauty. Staff was nice and helpful. Surprise, free breakfast had hard boil eggs and gluten free corn flakes. the motel allows dogs and I was worried we would be surrounded by barking dogs, but all the owners kept their pets in check. This is definitely an affordable place to enjoy the coast; it is clean, safe and right on the beach. I will return and will recommend it to all my friends. What? you want something more romantic? Go to their parent hotel, Overleaf Hotel next store… a bit more cash for ‘resort and spa’ experience.

This place was amazing! Everything went off without a hitch. We checked in easily and were very pleased to find a very clean, spacious room with an amazing balcony and view of the ocean! We were very pleased with the layout, the modern TV and DVD player, the refrigerator and microwave, two sinks, and coffee maker with coffee and tea already for us. We did not partake in the breakfast but from looking at it I could tell it was very well done. Sometimes you only need a hard boiled egg in the morning to get started and they have that! It was quiet minus the waves crashing against the beach, which was just fine. I have no complaints about this motel all and I very much hope to stay again soon. You cannot beat the off-​season prices!

We booked double bedroom ocean view… Lodge is awesome. Staff is very friendly … Rooms look neat… Breakfast is good, they served boiled eggs, cinnamon rolls, oats, orange juice n oats… You wil enjoy ur stay here :)

Aside from a little reservation hiccup at the beginning that was remedied to our satisfaction, my companion and I have nothing but the highest praise for this romantic, cozy little spot right on a dramatic edge of the ocean.
We had a huge picture window opposite our comfy king-​sized bed and we found ourselves staring at that dramatic ocean for a long, long time. Much better than the television or the internet! The Fireside is clean and accommodating and best of all, at $ 139.00 for our room during high tourist season, it is way more affordable than a motel this close to the ocean should be (not that we’re complaining). They are also über-​pet friendly and they welcomed our Black Dog with her own care package upon check in.
The ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful. There is a breakfast in the lobby, various cereals, hot and cold to choose from, oj, coffee — the usual. You can rent dvds in the lobby to take back to your room. There is also a gift shop that sells a selection of wine, beer, cheeses, tee shirts, caps, jams, jellies, postcards, etc.
There is a menu book you can look at in the lobby that has a menu from the ten or so restaurants in this charming, funky seaside town which is a mile or so south of The Fireside.
Yachats, is heaven on earth — there are tide pools and big rocks that the surf crashes on. There are thick groves of redwoods and cedar just feet from the ocean and there is a wonderful walking path that goes for a few miles. It is our new favorite vacation spot, it reminded us both of Big Sur, but without the crowds and fancy prices.

I really like this motel. It’s perched on the North edge of Yachats, and it has a beautiful view of the ocean from many of it’s rooms.
They’re sweet to guests here. I like the accomodations.
I love the benches where you can watch the ocean waves slap the rocks.
Ahhhhhhhhhh Yachats.
