Love this place it’s as unpretentious and Americana as you can get. Hedge fund managers rubbing elbows with plumbers and it’s just cool kind of place. The whole wheat pancakes and sausage are amazing as are the chocolate chip pancakes. The Tower and the cheeseburger are as well. Prices are modest and it’s cash only. It’s a throwback kind of place that feels more like middle America than snooty NE Bergen County.

Great little place, only 4 tables. But great food. Crispy bacon, really liked the pancakes. I will be back.

My friends and I stumbled upon this place heading back to NYC. We entered and were seated right away. It’s small but there’s enough room to hold 12 – 14 people between the tables and the lunch counter. The waitress came over quickly for our orders. The menu had breakfast and lunch options. We kept it simple with sandwiches. The food arrived quickly and it was good. A turkey club, turkey and bacon sandwich and a chicken cutlet sandwich. Each ordered with French fries. The coffee was good and a free refill was offered. They only take cash. Leaving took sometime because they picked up with business and serving other customers. Overall a good experience!

I ordered a chicken salad(a salad with chicken on it which was listed on the menu) and my friend ordered a chixken salad sandwich(a sandwich made with«chicken salad» –chicken mixed with what appeared to be miracle whip and ???). They brought us two chicken salad sandwiches and when I pointed out the error I was told curtly«well that’s what we have.» No offer was made to get me something else or to take the order back. I figured i should at least get it wrapped up so i coukd give it to a homeless person since they were going to charge me for their mistake. Our server had left, I guess her shift was over, and the guy that took over gave me attitude about not eating the sandwich when I asked if he could just wrap it up. Avoid this place.

So here at the restaurant very very small has 4tables for two and bar stools for 8 – 10. Nice pancakes nice omelet nothing outstanding but ok. Looks like a family business with 3 workers doing multiple jobs.

Great, fresh food. Smaller seating area but very helpful staff. Really well priced for what you get. I’ll definitely be going back again.

Their food and speed are legendary here in town, the owner whips up to-go orders for parties of 6 like clockwork. I say if you are hungry you should go here, your dollar will get you further and you will be satisfied. The staff is always great and they work hard. This place is a gem, I rue the day when it changes hands. To enjoy yourself here as a first timer you need to know what you like and also what they make well. They make fresh soup everyday(from scratch), the cheese steak, fried chicken and french fries dominate and the bacon on the BLT is made to order how you like it. Also, the owner makes egg and tuna salad daily so if you are into that you should go for it I hear its legit. This is also a great place to bring the kids, they will love the pancakes, they come in blueberry, cherry and chocolate chip. Also they have Boylan’s sodas which everyone loves. Enjoy!

I just went here with my friend for lunch. We tried it based on the Unilocal reviews. The place is very tiny and tucked in a corner next to the market basket. They have about 4 little tables and a counter to sit at. Everyone talked about their«tower“sandwich. So I tried it. Ehh. It was a basic Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a hard roll. Nothing special. I’ve honestly had better. I also wanted to try the home fries since the reviews said they were really good. Well they must have been great because they were all out! So I settled on french fries instead. They were of the shoestring variety but good. My friend and I shared them and it was more than enough. Would I go back? Sure, I’ll try something else, and maybe get to try the home fries.

I randomly found this place by typing«diner» into my GPS during a morning drive through New Jersey en route to Philadelphia. It was exactly what I hoped it would be — a small diner with a few tables and a sit down counter. For just over $ 5 I got two eggs, home fries, bacon and toast. Service was quick and friendly. If I lived in the area, I’d become a regular for sure!

So I have a job that requires me to get up very early and I have been to my fair share of diners and luncheonettes. First off. These people are the heroes of the early morning workers. These people are up before every one else and are open every day so that we can get our early morning cup of joe and egg and meat sandwiches to go. This place Abbie’s is one of these places. I personally stop here once in a while for their world famous(their description) tower. It’s only a meat, egg, and cheese sandwich on a hard roll with salt, pepper, ketchup as an option. As the food goes really nothing of note. Not to say its bad but its not something that knocks your socks off. The coffee is a little weak in my opinion as well but it’ll do in a pinch. The reason for three stars is the service. It looks like a father son team which as a son of a father son team workforce I know the challenges that brings. The thing is these guys are always happy to see you and that your bringing you patronage to them. I know this is more of a diatribe about the working man than a review on food but small places like these in the ‘burbs do need to be recognized for the effort they put forth every single day without fail. Keep up the good work.
