I had called to make two appointments for myself and a friend. Spoke with one of the so called managers. I thought everything was all set, until I called a couple of days later to change one of the services. I spoke with a different manager who had no record of our appointment. I once again made appointments. I just received a phone call stating that the esthetician had a broken hip and would be out for a week. It would be nothing short of a miracle for someone to have a broken hip and recover in a week!!! How about, we had no other appointments that Sunday and decided to cancel your two… that is more than likely the case if this salon does business in this manner!!! WOULDNOTRECOMMEND!!!

How to even start this review. This salon changed my life, as dramatic as that sounds it’s true. I have frizzy curly hair and was looking for a solution. I set up a consultation with Marie and she talked me into a keratin treatment and I’m so happy she did it. First off, the salon is beautiful, like no other salon I’ve been to. And everyone there is extremely nice. I got to my appointment around 10 and Marie patiently worked with me and my hair and I couldn’t appreciate it anymore. We had just met the day before but it was like I’ve known her my whole life. She made me feel so comfortable and made the several hours I had in the chair fun. I’m on day two with my new hair and I’m as happy as I can be! I love love love it. Everything about my experience there was on point and I’ve recommended this salon to a few people already. I can’t wait to come back for another treatment! Thanks Mocine Salon :)))

I went in for a leg wax, late on a Saturday afternoon. I had never been here before, and I had never really noticed the spa on the main road. As I entered, I really liked the ambience. There were a few people getting their hair done, but it wasn’t particularly busy. The woman who waxed me was Nikki. She was very friendly and very efficient. She was quick and pleasant. I was in and out in about half an hour. Will go back again. I’m very pleased with my services.

This place is terrible. My groom had an appt there on the day of our wedding. He had to sit and wait by himself because the space was too small for his friends to wait with him, over 30 mins. No one talked to him. His haircut and shave were awful. I could have done better myself. It was not straight and there were places that were missed. Do not go here.

My husband gets his haircuts here and he loves it, I on the other hand am not too fond of the place. I scheduled an appointment and asked for a seasoned stylist that had experience with the ombré look. Low and behold a young girl comes out and she’s spunky and fun and I’m tired and not wanting to socialize(sat. AM appt) anyway, she was really nice, sweet etc. I left with not an ombré but more like how I had my hair before I dyed it one color. I know ombré is a fading/lightening at the tips effect but mine was just confused. Was not light enough, and sorta just looked like low lights with a lot of root showing and not in the ‘ombré’ chic kind of way. I was very disappointed. Spent over $ 100 and will not be returning.

The new Mocine has completely transformed. I am beyond impressed with the skilled professionals that they have working. The second I walked in, the aroma and ambiance reassured me that it was«me» time. I went for a haircut and was so pleased with the job the woman did that I ended up getting a pedicure and manicure as well! Each professional was extremely welcoming and made sure they pampered me to the fullest. If you are looking for a high quality spa with a high quality staff, then Mocine is the place for you. Enjoy!

I am definitely a fan of Mocine Salon & Spa. Its a short commute from where I live, right on Park Avenue. I have only received hair services, no nail, wax or make-up services, which is why i am giving it 4 stars. The salon is very accommodating. I tend to realize i NEED something done a day or two in advance of an appointment and they seem to always make the day and time work. I even called on 10⁄29 to book a 5 hour keratin appointment on Friday 10⁄31 and they scheduled it. The salon has a very calming and romantic feel to it. The space and bathrooms are always clean. The staff is always friendly and welcoming upon walk in. Also I have never had to wait for my appointment, my hair dresser is always waiting for me at the front which is nice. I have received 2 Keratin treatments from Kamana, and they always turn out great. They use this product that only requires you keep it in your hair for 24 hours as opposed to 3 days. I used to hate Keratin because I couldn’t stand my hair being tacky for 3 days. I have a lot of naturally frizzy wavy/curly/messy hair and its long, so the process takes extra long, 5 hours to be exact, which is a little tiring, but the time does pass. They offer coffee, plenty of magazines, and pleasant conversation. IMP Advice: 1. They have a rewards card, how awesome is that? Which means your 7th Service is FREE! Get your rewards card and keep it somewhere safe 2. If you don’t find parking in the small lot next to their building, it seems you can park in the free lot across the street. I have never gotten ticketed. 3. There is a BOA across the street from Mocine which is great to pull out cash for tipping.

I will recommend Stephanie for a Brazilian wax. She was fast and extremely friendly. It took her ten minutes for the full wax. Just putting it out there. So far she’s the best waxer there!

I went for a fassage, which is supposed to be a 75 min treatment including a back massage and a European facial. The back massage turned out to be a quick back scrub/cleansing, and the facial was very average(hello greasy product in my hair). Definitely not worth $ 95. The worst part is that the whole time it felt like there was some sort of emergency(worst and fastest scalp massage ever) which is definitely not the relaxing experience I was looking for. Unsurprisingly my 5pm appointment was already done at 5:42, ½hr early. I only give two stars because upon payment I mentioned it was much faster than I had expected and I was only charged $ 50. They are trying to position themselves as a spa, and they certainly got the décor right(pretty Moroccan feel) but the service is not right. It’s just an overpriced, very average salon.

I purchased a GC for my husband… a mens/sports pedicure… as a Christmas present. He went in a few weeks ago, and had a less than pleasant experience, to say the least. First of all, the pedi area was a bench with pillows, and had no backing, so he had to lean, and actually hold up his own thigh during part of it… there was nowhere to put his drink,(that HE had to ask for), and the whole pedicure was awkard and clunky and uncomfortable. Upon paying, he presented the GC, and was told that there was a $ 10 charge, because the prices have now increased. WHAT? The GC hadn’t expired, and was already payed for. When he explained this, he was told, «Well, I GUESS we’ll honor the old prices»…you think? Not good, not good at all. Won’t be back. When I asked how his service was, his response was, «Not good».

If you have not been here you have got to! Salon is great! the owner is great! I could not be happier with my hair stylist! Deserves a full 5 stars, weather its hair, or other services, their prices are in good range, lots of pampering. I recommend Mocine Salon Spa, two thumbs up.

Went for a couple’s massage with my wife. They were able to accommodate us at the last minute. Friendly staff. The place has a «Moroccan» look and feel to it. The massage itself was OK. Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either. In my mind it was a reasonable value for the money we spent.

The only reason I am generously offering two stars is because the second day of my experience was better and my actual wedding hair came out exactly the way I wanted it. My stylist was funny, accomodating and she worked quickly and calmly and got me out the door on time with my bridal party looking lovely. There was a male stylist who was awesome as well. MY nails were«okay». I couldnt rave about them but they were passable. So kudos to them, but thats about all I have to say about this place. My advice to them is to jump ship and find a new place before this place goes out of business. Now for the bad news, my wedding party and I had the single most terrible experience the day before the wedding when we went to Mocine for our manicures and pedicures. If it was possible to have rebooked our hair appointments last minute at another salon, just based on the experience with our nails– I would have in a heartbeat. There were three women doing our nails and there were 5 of us. Seems like a good ratio right? WRONG. There was a girl working on my Maid of Honor’s nails who took over 2 hours to complete a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure had her wincing in pain the whole time as I watched her and the manicure looked(and felt) terrible. Her nails were uneven, the polish was on her cuticles and the girl had uses a rough grit file on the TOP of her toenails Clearly this woman was not a certified nail technician and when I heard of the things she had done during her excessively long mani pedi session, I went to the front desk to ask that they not allow her to do the nails of anyone else in my party. My maid of honor had painful, awful looking nails that she was sitting at a nail desk fixing by herself. Terrible. We arrived at the nail salon at 12 in the afternoon and with multiple nail techs, we were not done unitl nearly 5. I actually had to leave the girls at the salon to go run errands because it was taking so long. And now for possibly the worst part of the entire experiece: the customer service by the two girls at the front desk. When we were attempting to pay for our services, the front desk was extremely short on change and we all had brought with us large bills. One girl at the front desk went to the back of the salon with one of our $ 100 bills and came back to tell us they had no change. THe other girl said, we’ll have to run to the bank. This is when the following conversation occurred between tweedle dee and tweedle DUH: «Well you go, its raining» «I dont wanna go, I’ll get my hair wet» «Well I dont want to go either!» All while we are standing there in front of them trying to pay for the services we received that were subpar at the very best. Finally one of them stormed off somewhere and returned eventually with change. Cut to the next day: I am going to pay for the entire bridal party which amounted to approximately $ 500. When I had set up my bridal contract with the salon I had told them that while I would come in and pay for a full hair trial, I did not want to be locked in to a Bridal up-do on my final contract because of the strong possibility I would be cutting my hair short and would only need a blow dry and style. I was told(and have the emails to prove it) that they would put me in for a Bridal Updo but that I could change it if I cut my hair with no problem. Well, I ended up cutting my hair three days before the wedding(like I do) and only needed a blow dry and style. As I am going to pay the entire tab for all the girls, it is much to my dismay the same girls are at the desk. They knew how unhappy I had been the day before when I had to ask them to remove Captain Destructo from my mani/pedi party. I am going to pay in cash and they are adding up the contract price and tax for me. I tell them my bridal updo needs to be change to a blow dry and style but that a girl in my party who had had shorter hair and had originally beem in as a blow dry and style actually received an updo(so logically, it would not have made a big difference in price). The girl says«Ooooohhh I dont know, they typically dont let you alter the contract». I explain to her that I had emails I could show her authorizing a change to be made if need be. She says«hmmm I dont know, let me go see if you are allowed to switch it». The girl comes back and says«Yea, it turns out they’re going to let you do that even though we usually dont». REALLY??? You’re going to LET me do something you already agreed to in writing? You’re going to LETME pay you over $ 500 in cash so that you dont even have to pay the credit card fee? You’re going to LETME not report the fact that you had a clearly unqualified nail tech in her butchering peoples nailbeds? Well, let me tell you what I’m going to let myself do. I will tell every single bride I know that this place is where bridal relaxation goes to DIE. A salon is supposed to remove stress from a bride’s big day, not add to it. When I left there I had to take a xanex. So thanks.

Got a shellac manicure for the first time here. Didn’t love the results. Polish line near cuticle was messy, and she didn’t file my nails to the same length. Be aware that only one person can get a manicure at a time. Will try shellac elsewhere in the future.

Although it was large and beautifully decorated with water-flows everywhere I wouldn’t go back. I got a brazilian wax and my waxer was super rough and reckless on such a sensitive spot. Didn’t try and socialize much, didn’t put any powder down,(if you’ve ever gotten a wax you know the powder helps ease the pain a bit) then to top it all off left me there after my skin was inflamed to the max didn’t give me any lotion or cleaner to get the remaining wax off me. So needless to say I left with sticky pants. I wouldn’t recommend anyone getting a wax there. :/
