Highly competent and very caring vet. He give honest advise and is not in it to run up the bill. I like his not feeling to need to sugar cost issues but in a way that is sincere & caring. My wife has taken many a dog & horse and I would highly recommend.

I actually really disagree of the previous Unilocaler. Dr. valcheck is worth every min of the wait. When it’s your turn and he comes out, you get 100% of him and his time. He is very caring, honest, and down to earth. He will teach you if you want to learn, he doesn’t rush, he takes each client and will give you all the time you need– hence the wait. He saved my horses life (colic) without surgery. Unlike most vets would have said surgery right off the bat but he was realistic and knew it was a hard decision financially but he said let me try one thing. He stayed up at his house all night (every two hours) with my horse and saved her life. I also think he is very funny and witty and me and my husband both enjoy being around him when he’s out. He’s the most realistic vet I have met and I appreciate him. I say ignore the other poster and try him out first– he’s worth the wait I promise.

Would give him a zero if I could. He came recommended to me so I decided to try him instead of my regular vet. I had a very lame horse that I wanted to have examined and x-​rayed. I called and left a message, no return call so i called again explained again about the seriousness of the problem and that it was my second call. Gee what a surprise no return call. What kind of caring vet could he be if he doesn’t even care to return calls. There are many good vets out there so walk away from this one!
