Is my way okay? It’s not your way… but that’s okay… since today is a new day and I love to train at THE WAY OF NO WAY.

Sifu Reza along with his team have managed to create a piece of heaven on Earth for kids. I’m almost as excited as my son to attend these classes just for the simple fact that the positive energy there is immense. You can’t help but to feel good! I also appreciate the passion he has to teach children to be the best version of themselves. That is inspiring! Thank you, The way of No Way!

Quite simply the best people and the best training in the Valley! Sifu Reza and his instructors are top martial artists and they attract the best people! With direct ties to the worlds greatest instructors, Way of No Way is carrying on a deep lineage and leaving a lasting legacy in the community. I’ve seen the young people here grow in leaps and bounds as well as the old people. I include myself in that statement! Way of No Way is also home to world class drummers and the best live drumming around! The curriculum is carefully designed for a extremely well rounded approach to self defense and martial art with a wide variety of very effective classes. To quote Guro Dan Inosanto, «A Jack of all trades can mess a lot of people up!» And to top it all off the health and wellness benefits of training here are endless. If you live in and around the Valley and you want to become a better «YOU» or have children you want to grow into respectful, healthy adults who can take care of themselves and make an impact in their communities then Way of No Way is without a doubt the place!

I was introduced to this martial arts studio and Sifu Reza in 2012 at a women’s self defense seminar that he hosted. Ever since then I never looked back, I left behind playing basketball to learn more about the «way of no way.» I have learned so much along the way, not only more about myself but about how important hard work and giving back truly is. Everything that I have learned here translates into my everyday life. The energy of this studio is my favorite part of it all. This is not a typical «gym» that you come hit punching bags at, this studio is a family where each time you come in you learn a little more about yourself and how patience and dedication can get you so far in your training. As soon as I walked through the front door on my first day I was greeted with open arms and great energy. This place is for all ages. I’ve tried training at other martial arts places but they just don’t feel the same, there’s gotta be a reason why I keep coming back. Sifu Reza is a one of a kind instructor. He has helped me conquer many challenges, whether it is martial arts related or personal, either way he is a great mentor. This studio will always have a special place in my heart.

I’ve had the honor of learning from Sifu Reza for about 15 years now. I have been lucky enough to take part in every program he has from his kids transition classes all the way up to his various adult classes and it has truly changed my life. I believe everyone needs a mentor like Sifu Reza in their lives. I think everyone should come in and at least try or watch a class, it’s truly an amazing experience. The amount of passion Sifu Reza teaches with and his way with children is unbelievable.

My daughter has flourished with self confidence and self control under Sifu Reza’s guidance. There are a lot of martial arts places around and this one is the best. They are so concerned with the «whole» child, not just skill competitions. There is training, and competition but rewards are given for personal accomplishments. My daughter tried swimming, gymnastics, kick boxing, horseback riding, etc but has not experienced accomplishment and confidence like she has here. She LOVES it! And loves coming week after week!

If you are a lifetime Martial Artist, new to the sceen or a parent looking for a studio for your kid… take the time to read this review. This review applies to anybody interested in learning the arts of JKD (Jeet Kun Do), Muy Thai, Jujitsu, Kali, Silat, Savat, Shooto and probably more.
I have been practicing martial arts for close to 30 years. I wasn’t looking for my own training due to a hip injury, I was looking for a studio for my kids that brought me to The Way of No Way (yes, I agree… It’s a crazy long name, but the name has meaning and is at the core of the studio) okay, back to my story… So what was I looking for? #1 for the studio to be another place that my kids can learn to be respectful, honest, determined individuals that can express their competitive nature with passion rather than ego. #2 for the combative arts to be the forefront of the curriculum, not sport fighting or worse, point fighting. After going to about 8 other martial arts studios and sometimes grabbing my kids and walking out of the class 10 minutes into it, I came across The Way of No Way. I was immediately blown away on how welcomed my kids and I were. Not just by the people that had something to gain ($) by us joining, but the students, parents, instructors, etc. They all had huge smiles and would show you respect by bowing to you and introducing themselves ending with a «nice to meet you and welcome». My kids have now trained with TWONW for more than a year and I can not express how awesome this place has been from the get go. There is no where better for martial arts training in Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Tarzana, Encino, Canoga or West Hills and believe me… I’ve looked.
Now to me…
Now that my hip has healed, I started training in the adult martial arts program. I am extremely impressed with how knowledgeable and good the training is. Sifu Reza is one of those rare instructors who knows this is a life long art of learning and continues to train (a lot) for himself and then teaches you every thing he knows with no hesitation. He will even take class with us at times when one of his other crazy good instructors is teaching. Talk about no ego.
Oh, worth mentioning. I tried to get back into my training and went to a pretty well known MMA facility and got hurt on the first day for no other reason than they taught through ego and just do it mentality. So, I didn’t learn my lesson and decided to try it again as soon as I felt better. Yep… Straight into sparring, no warm up and only combative sparring. It was win or lose, not learn. At TWONW they spar in 3 phases: 1. Cooperative were you are able to practice techniques without the worry of the other person hurting you. 2. Contesting were you bring it up a notch in speed and contact, but still have no worries of getting your head knocked off. 3. Combative were you both are agreeing to push your limits. These phases allow you to step it up as you feel comfortable with no injuries due to ego and not being physically prepared to step it up.
As for some of the negative reviews that I saw and was baffled by, I have no idea why someone would give a poor review for this studio, Sifu Reza or any of the staff. The only thing that comes to mind is it is sometimes easier to be a victim rather than except responsibility.

My 8 years old son is training with Sifu Reza for 2 ½ years at The Way of No Way.
This place is a GEM of the Valley! One of a kind, where your child will be treated and taught respect, kindness and care, on top of the martial arts philosophy and self-​awareness.
All” translated” to children by the very gifted Sifu Reza.
He is a visionary and a fantastic pedagogue. A great person and a true leader.
I feel very lucky to be part of this community.

My children have been training at No Way for almost two years now and Sifu Reza is the most humble, most gifted, most passionate teacher! Two words: «Kid Whisperer»! I am so grateful to have found this gem!

My kids have been going to classes at The Way of No Way for two years now. Sifu Reza and all of the other Sifus who work with the kids are amazing. My kids come away from each class more confident and healthy in their mind and body. We love the extended family that TWONW has given our family.

The best. Sifu Reza has given my children such confidence with his teaching methods. I have never heard him speak down to anyone. He teaches mixed martial arts while also encouraging values like respect, compassion, and self-​discipline. I am very impressed with his facility and employees.

I felt compelled to write a review due to the injustice that some people wrote about Sifu Rezaz and TWONW. My son has been coming for about 2 months. I can tell you Sifu Reza is very respectful, humble and loving person. His passion for the sports shows in his actions and words. I’m not a student (I would like to be) but a father who would not trust just anybody to teach my son. The people and student are awesome, humble and respectful to all who come in.

Unprofessional and disappointing. Publicly shamed my autistic son in class. Sifu Reza acted like a misygonist and a bully to me. Save your money and go to a better safer place in my opinion

This place should be called «No Way, No How.»
I’ve been threatened with legal action for writing a bad review on their page. Another reason to not give them your patronage.

I started taking my 5 year old son here about a month ago. We had tried various martial arts classes all over the valley and my son never really seemed interested in them, until we found The Way of No Way.
The owner and the lead instructor, Sifu Reza, was put on this planet to teach martial arts. The man has definitely found his calling in life. He is amazing at it. He makes the classes super fun, makes sure these little kids learn something every single time they show up while giving them invaluable life lessons. If the same life lessons came from me, my kid would never listen to me. When they come from Sifu Reza, they are God’s word. He just has this power and energy about him that makes kids want to listen to him and emulate him.
The studio offers classes for kids, teenagers and adults. I can only review the kids classes since that’s all I’ve experienced, but I can say that it’s hands down, the nicest martial arts studio I have ever been to, both in terms of aesthetics and feeling comfortable and welcome.

Where do I start… Sifu Reza and his team (more like family) at Way of No Way welcome you into a culture of martial arts here. This isn’t some Joe-​Schmo or Molly-​Moe Dojo!
Philosophy: Come to learn, come to understand, come to respect and appreciate a disciplined skill while taking advantage of physical conditioning.
Place: New, Clean, and beautifully designed. Zen like, yet inspiring and functional.
Well worth going in and seeing what they are about. I look forward to my continual growth here once I recuperate from an injury I suffered while playing basketball :(
