Description

Specialties

Topanga Vintage Market is held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 8am to 3pm. We have over 170 vendors who specialize in vintage everything, from depression-era salt and pepper shakers to 1980’s punk rock T-shirts, Civil War cast iron bean pots and mid-century danish modern desk chairs, 19th Century German porcelain cherubs and 1970’s Star Wars Jedi memorabilia. It’s a flea market, without the fleas, and without the sock sellers, used car seats and fake Gucci.

With over 170 vendors of everything vintage, plus dozens of local artisans, it’s a wide field (well, parking lot actually) full of surprises; a collectible collector’s dream; a fashionista’s mecca; a DIYer’s idea shop; a guy’s place to rifle through the racks of tools and stacks of baseball cards; an interior designer’s secret source; and a fun day for the whole family.

Each market features at least 4 great food trucks and live entertainment. All for just $ 3 (kids get in free!) Junkalicious!

History

Established in 2012.

Topanga Vintage Market opened at Westfield Promenade in April of 2012 and was immediately swamped with West SF Valley shoppers hungry for their own fabulous flea market. Co-founders Lori Rotblatt and Patrice Curedale scoured LA’s great antique shows, flea markets, swap meets and vintage shops for the best vendors and invited these top sellers to their antiques, vintage and collectibles show, making the 4th Sunday of every month a «Topanga Vintage Market» day for the whole SF Valley, and for LA’s flea market circuit. In one month the market grew from 75 vendors to 150, and within one year Topanga Vintage’s average of 2,800 shoppers per month meant it was time to find new, bigger space at Pierce College. Since then TVM has grown to nearly 200 sellers and is proud to have raised over $ 40,000 for Pierce, while bringing vintage, art, live music and fun food trucks to the LA’s favorite 4th Sunday flea market!

Meet the Business Owner

Patrice and Lori V.

Business Owner

Patrice and Lori met at Topanga Elementary School, where their sons were in kindergarden together. They soon discovered their mutual love of vintage, estate sales, dumpster diving and flea markets, and decided to create a business together. As single moms/junkanistas, they had three objectives: 1) to make money 2) to have time to be with their kids 3) to use their love of all things old to fuel a passion for a new enterprise. After schlepping to Long Beach Antique Market, Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, Ventura Swap Meet and other far flung flea markets, they decided to just create one of their own a bit closer to home, and that’s how Topanga Vintage Market was born.
