I ordered the beef teriyaki bowl and the portions were really small. Both the rice and beef tasted old and stale. Overall the food here was really gross and disappointing. I will not come back to this place.

Good food, cheap. Standard teriyaki. I work around the area so it’s convenient and better tasting than subway.

I ordered the«Pink Lady Roll» which in the description is listed as «no rice» and it was one of highest priced sushi item so I assumed that they would have added additional salmon, but they just overloaded it with imitation crab. In addition, this order only came with 6 pieces of sushi while all of the other sushi dishes contain 8 pieces, so do not get this item or the«Love Love Roll»(it’s the tuna version, I had the salmon version) if you are expecting more for your money because you will definitely get less food than their cheaper rolls(#50-#71). Staff was nice, sushi is okay. You do get free miso if you dine in.

Meh, is exactly right. It was your average asian lunch place. Food was fine, but not memorable although the quantity was pretty good. Prices were good, not great. Overall I’m glad I ate there but I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Why? Cause there’s other stuff to try and well, I just don’t want to go back.

I love the no rice sushi. They deliver to my work, and if I pick up its always ready to go and everyone there is very polite. Place is clean, it isn’t meant to be a fancy sit down restaurant so I am not sure why people complained about the service.

My boys have been begging to go here for a while! We are finally here and the food is super fresh and made to order! My boys don’t like veggies, so we ordered the teriyaki chicken breast plate, but without veggies and that’s exactly how it came. Best of all they are slurping up the food, so all is quiet and enjoyable for lunch! Lol! I ordered the California Roll which was also fresh and delicious. The staff makes sure you have everything you need in order to make your meal enjoyable. Great place and clean… will be back!

My Friend told me about this place and man did i fall in love at first sight. The food is amazing especially the Chicken Terriyki Bowl. The price for this place is a bit high but its completely worth it. The bowls are about 6 – 8 dollars but it also comes with miso soup included. The employees are nice but sometimes kinda awkward. The inside is small and parking lot is a witch(switch the W for B). Overall if you are looking for a new place to try, this should be your first choice.

It was hard to give the 3 stars but the reason is, the people there are not nice and the food is price I mean I can go to an actual restaurant in this prices $ 10 — 12 a roll its expansive to add cream cheese one dollar, for a little bit cream cheese But the food is ok

I don’t understand all the complaints about not getting perfect service. This is not a full-service restaurant. You order at the cash register, pay, and then they bring you your food or package it up for you to-go. So far, everybody has been very pleasant to me, but that’s just my experience. I’m also not a high-maintenance customer. What I don’t understand is most of these people knocking off stars because some of the cashiers lack personalities or are a little bit blunt. You’re not expected to tip them 15−20%(although I usually do leave a tip). It’s not part of the equation. People don’t come here for the dining experience, they come for a quick tasty bite. It’s a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere – you’re not coming for the ambiance, you are coming for the food. Speaking of… Down to the food… I have eaten here twice: CA combo bowl(I want to say it was around $ 8 total) has beef, chicken, veggies, rice, and 2 cuts of a CA roll. A regular bowl(just beef or chicken) is a dollar or two cheaper. I love that the roll gets warm and stays soft in the bowl, something about it just tastes really good that way. As people mentioned, this came with miso soup for eating in. Big portions. I have a big appetite, but I really shouldn’t have finished the whole thing – I was super full the rest of the day. Really tasty for a quick, cheap and almost healthy meal. Washington roll($ 9.95+tax) was alright. It’s a CA roll with salmon on top, nothing special, not terribly flavorful but filled me up for lunch. The salmon had almost no flavor, but it was still tasty, and I would order it again when I’m looking for a quick fix. I did notice that they have a 4pc CA roll + 4pc spicy tuna roll for $ 5 or $ 6, which is probably what I will get next time to save some $$. Verdict: sushi rolls are OK. If you are expecting acceptable-quality food that is prepared well for a cheap fill-up, you will leave satisfied, happy, and full. I have also tried the fried potstickers. They were very tasty. I think there were 6 pieces, don’t know the price. They aren’t very big but they will make you happy. As some folks have mentioned, service can be a little slow. I like to come here for my lunch break, so I call in my order beforehand. Saves a lot of time. My only complaint is that they don’t have any paper or online menus, since we always call in our order. I would really appreciate it if they could print out paper menus or upload a current menu online somewhere, so that we will know what to order when we go. Will try and take some pictures next time I am there. Note: they do accept credit card, but there is a $ 5 minimum so plan accordingly.

I came here mostly for convenience, my friend lives around the corner. It was pretty slow for a Saturday lunch time I think, but the worker was really nice. I called in my food and it was ready when I got there 15 mins later. I got the unagi avocado brown with brown rice, cost about $ 12 with the brown rice up charge. I thought it was pretty good. There’s some sort of seasoning they put on the rice that I couldn’t tell what it was, but it tasted good. I’m not a huge eater so the portion was perfect for me. My only complaint would be that a couple of the unagi pieces had a little more fat than I’m use to. But if you’re looking for a quick bite, it’s good for that

So basically one of the best beef teriyaki bowls I have ever had in my life. No lie. Shredded to perfection. Cash only but fuck it, shit is amazing. True story.

Always order for pick up during my lunch break. Usually in and out within a minute or two. I don’t eat seafood so I normally get the beef teriyaki plate. They always give me extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce at no additional charge and without a hassle. Each time I have received great customer service!

My review is based off dining in and taking out. I usually order the chicken teriyaki bowl. The only«sushi» I get from here is the beef teriyaki roll so I cannot speak to the quality of the sushi. The chicken is always fresh and tasty. The wait is a bit longer than other similar restaurants but the customer service and quality of food definitely make up for it.

First off I want to apologize to anyone who was swayed at all by my previous review to go here. I take it all back. A three star turns into a one. I ordered a roll with tuna on it(Tuna Salmon Roll) to go. Went home to eat it and I knew from the moment I took a bite something was wrong. I took a couple more bites and realized that my raw tuna tasted acidic… sour even… and as a sushi fanatic, I know that’s not how sushi should taste. Raw tuna should be fresh and slightly sweet. I called the restaurant and the lady tried to tell me there’s a sauce on the roll and that’s what is doing that(no, there’s not. It’s a dry roll.) She told me to bring it back and she’d give me my money back. So I drove back and got my money back and went to clarify how bad it tasted, and she looked at me and gave me attitude and told me, «I sold a lot of tuna today, so…» And in my head I’m thinking, «Congrats. I don’t care. There’s something wrong with what you gave me.» Won’t ever be going back.

October 22, 2014 Barely under $ 10 for most food items that fills you up, including tax. The place has a weird seafood smell that isn’t too bad. You will forget about it after ten seconds of being inside. Miso soup is amazing be sure to dine in for a complimentary soup. I have tried the(#41) Beef & Chicken Combo Teriyaki Plate. I thought it was ok. Nothing special. I have also tried(#31) Shrimp Tempura Udon + California Rolls. The Udon was bland and the broth was ok. The California rolls were just like any other. They were a bit on the cold side. *don’t recommend* TV is usually on sports in the afternoon. Not many people eat inside. So, this is always an open spot.

For what it is, it’s good. There’s minimal ambiance, the TV is always on daytime talk show television or soaps, and the servers wear street clothes and look no-so-into-it. That being said, you can’t beat what you get for the lunchtime bento box, which includes a drink for the price. Not ALL lunchtime specials include the drink, so ask before you order. That annoyed me, but I suppose it’s their prerogative. There’s no sushi bar here, it’s just a straight up kitchen, but you can see back there from where you order at the cash register. Notably, none of the cooks/chefs appear to be Japanese, but the owner is. Owner isn’t terribly friendly, but oh well. He gets the job done. Again, if you want sushi that’s mouth-watering, this isn’t your place. Prices are on par with a better place, apart from the bento boxes, which is kind of puzzling. But if you’re like me and you’re in walking distance and want to have some spicy tuna rolls that are OK, this IS a good place(apart from watching Dr. Oz).

Not bad, but not great either. Ordered the California Bowl which came with a choice of chicken or beef and topped with two cuts of a California Roll. It also comes with a side of Miso Soup, which was somewhat good. For $ 7, you get a descent amount of food. Chicken seemed under cooked and light on sauce. No Sriracha at the table. Would I come back? Unlikely.

Consistency is a virtue in a restaurant. I gladly declare every visit to California Bowl be a filling experience. The miso actually has chunks of tofu. I like to add hot sauce for an extra kick ;) oh yeah !. The meat is well prepared, in fair portions and adequately marinated. The fluffy brown rice option is a huge plus. Gotta get that fiber ! and of course the smiley service is appreciated. *FYI miso soup and drink only included when eating at the restaurant. *FYI2 strong iced tea, caffeine kick! whappa !!! Hehe
