The Inn at Fox Hollow

I have only stayed in a handful of «4-​star hotels,» but this one is the worst of the lot. Service was decent, but nowhere near the best I’ve had, even at cheaper hotels, and the continental breakfast was bad — the scrambled eggs were watery, the home fries were dry and chewy, and the french toast was rubbery. There is also a lot of noise from the road if your room is on that side of the building.
On the plus side, the room was very nice and clean. We stayed in a Double One Bedroom Suite. The décor was appealing and moderately upscale, it just looks a little worn. The bar, Vintage, is also nice looking and stays open late, but beers are $ 9 and the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA I had was ancient. I wouldn’t order a bottled IPA from this place. All in all, if you are staying in the area and have money to blow, this place will do the trick, but I expect, and have experienced, much better from a $ 350 (after taxes) room.

This boutique hotel is beautiful. King sized suite was so comfortable. It had microwave, cooktop, dishwasher, dishes, sink, regular sized fridge — you could stay there a long time. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Setting on busy road belies its elegance. My sister got married at catering facility next door in 1986 and it is still a gorgeous place for a wedding or other special event with spectacular outdoor ceremony spaces. The complimentary breakfast was deluxe — even had a cappuccino/​latte machine. I would definitely stay here again.

I was booked at this hotel for a speaking engagement and it was not my choice. My flight was delayed and got in around 2 in the morning. I was greeted by a pleasant person who realized that all I wanted to was sleep and asked me if I wanted a wake up call. I arrived and my room to be pleasantly surprised. The room was more like a two room suite and I was said that I could only stay 6 hours cause I had to be up early. The morning breakfast was a true HOT breakfast buffet. Not what other places call breakfast. I was back in the area two days later and HAD to stay there again. My new favorite place to stay when I am in the middle of the island.

This hotel has seen better days. Very dated, rundown and just plain dirty. Definitely not a ’boutique hotel’. Please see the pictures associated with my review. They speak for themselves. Disgusting.
If you do end up staying here, make sure you ask for a room that is not right on the road. Otherwise, you will hear cars zooming by all night.

Very big room and comfortable bed. The wine bar downstairs was very nice also. Lumpy pillows though. And the dishwasher in the room had dirty dishes in it. Those two things are what’s holding it back from a higher rating.

I spent the night here the night of my wedding.
We got a suite with the romance package which included a bottle of champagne and gourmet chocolates.
They also put a dozen roses in the room.
We enjoyed a nice complimentary breakfast and heated up our wedding leftovers in the microwave.
The hotel itself is beautiful and they make you feel very welcomed here.

I booked a suite at the Inn at Fox Hollow for myself and my bridal party to use while getting ready for my wedding day. That night, my husband and I, as newlyweds, stayed in this same suite. I spoke with several of the reception desk staff to let them know my plans for the room. They ensured me that after myself and my bridal party left for the wedding, that they would have their housekeeping staff straighten up the suite. Therefore, that is what I expected.
My husband and I returned to the suite after our wedding around 1am. The room was EXACTLY the way I had left it earlier that day. I was so disappointed. No one came to straighten up the room. The food that we had catered earlier that day for the bridal party was still all over the place, there were hangers and bags and all my bridesmaid’s trash all over the suite… exactly what I wanted to come back to on my wedding night (ha!). Being that it was 1am, I wasn’t about to call the front desk to wait for housekeeping to come to clean the room. So my husband and I cleaned it up ourselves.
Being that the Scotto brothers are in the wedding business, you’d think they would know better. Most hotels have a bottle of champagne waiting for newlyweds when they return to their room on their wedding night. We just had trash.

We were unable to stay here, but spent a good amount of time there with relatives.
Excellent all around.
Had a nice little bar there, and the bar staff was friendly.
The suites seemed really nice, although I can’t say how comfy the beds are or aren’t as we didn’t sleep there.
The banquet facility was awesome… especially the lounge. Food was excellent!
If I’m ever in the area again, this is where I’ll be booking.

So I was only here for one night prior to a wedding, but 5 stars all around. From the booking process (the wedding had a room block) to the service and value for the price, I was impressed.
I got in late-​close to midnight-​and the guy at the front desk was completely pleasant and more than helpful. Whereas most hotels leave you to figure out the wifi on your own, this guy gave me all the info without my even having to ask! He also told me exactly where to park in order to be close to my room – super easy.
I’m not exactly sure what room I was in but it was impressive for what I paid. Full kitchen and fridge with seating area in addition to nice and comfy king bed and vanity+bathroom.
It’s a great boutique inn not too far from the attractions in the area. NFC room cards too, so no need to worry about demagnetized keys!

Had our wedding at the fox hollow (absolutely amazing) and blocked out a bunch of rooms at the inn. (absolutely TERRIBLE)
First off we had booked two rooms for the day prior so that the bride/​bridal party/mother’s could get their hair and makeup done. We requested the 2 rooms to be near each other. Of course they ended up being on opposite sides of the hotel which caused a delay, requiring them to run back and forth. (The next day we had ~10 rooms and all were within doors, couldn’t do this for 2 rooms for us??)
Second, a fire alarm going off for over 15 minutes due to someone burning toast (front desk said we could stay in the room)
3^rd, we made hotel gift bags for everyone that had reservations. My parents went to main desk the morning of check out to ask about the bags, they were ALL still sitting there and they asked my parents if they wanted to take them… … … .
4^th there seemed to be some type of plumbing issue as everyone kept having the toilets back up. It took over an hour and twenty minutes after 2 calls and walking down to the front desk for someone to finally come by our room. Other rooms received help relatively fast.
5^th, after the wedding we got onto the elevator which refused to open doors at the 3^rd floor. It continuously played games going floor to floor but never opening the door. Thankfully this only lasted about ten minutes before we were able to walk it
6^th, no one is around to help move bags and such during check in or check out? A lot to move after a wedding
I usually stay at hotels more than half the price of what they ask for here and have never had a poor experience. We were beyond disappointed and couldn’t believe the terrible service compared to the wedding hall. The hotel seems to be highly rated so maybe we had bad luck, but after our experience I could never recommend it.
One plus, the rooms seemed to at least be clean.
That’s about all I got.

Really annoyed. I stayed at this place last week and really loved it. I check out and no charges then 3 days later I get a charge for $ 5.43 on my credit card. So I call and the man at the desk tells me I drank one of the water because it was open. He never asked my name or anything so how would he automatically know what happened? I am sorry to say but I think it’s a scam. He then told me he couldn’t do anything because it’s the policy. I got loud and called him out and then he finally got my info and refunded the money. It’s not about the money it’s about being accused of taking something when I didn’t. Totally unprofessional. The management emailed me and apoligized so I am changing my star rating to a 4.

My parents live in South Florida. Whenever they visit Long Island (usually for 7 – 10 days) they stay here. It’s their favorite hotel in the area.
They say it’s because the hotel itself has a very warm and inviting feel and the staff is extremely attentive.
Highlights:

* Free coffee, tea, and cookies all day.
* Beautiful new bar — ‘Vintage’.

* Warm, inviting lobby area with a beautiful fireplace.
* Free Wifi.
* Fitness Center
* Heated swimming pool.

This is a very very nice hotel considering its proximity to the industrial complexes on Long Island. I will definitely be staying there again. I did have a little issue but it was immediately taken care of by the friendly and courteous staff. In case I forget to mention it the suite, at a very reasonable $ 159 a night comes with champagne at check in, breakfast every morning, and dinner from 6 – 7:30. This hotel caters to the business traveler as well as the couple on a romantic getaway. It definitely changed my perspective of Long Island being a Floridian.

A very comfortable hotel in Syosset with all the trimmings. Extremely convenient when we visit family and it’s right on Jericho Turnpike. The rooms are ample and well appointed. Ours had a full size refrigerator and small kitchen appliances. Breakfast Buffett is available and restaurants and bar. Expensive but most things are in the area.

This hotel was great! We came here because my friend was getting married next door at Fox Hollow. The rooms are huge they all have a cute little kitchen even with the dishwasher I had never stayed at a place like this.
The bathroom I liked because it had a separate door to go use the toilet. So while one person is on the potty another person can be getting themselves ready in front of the mirror.
The following morning we went down to have breakfast. There was a great selection of food hot and cold to choose from. Everything is on sterno’s kept very warm and also very clean. There’s a huge dining hall where there were plenty of juices, teas and coffees to choose from.
Think if I ever know someone visiting I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The negative to this hotel and the Fox Hollow is the only way to go from the hotel to the reception venue is through outside.
I thought that it wasn’t a far walk but in the cold ice and snow it is not a fun walk. They did shovel and have salt down but it would’ve been nice to have walk-​through and indoor pass through. They should easily add one and it can also be monitored with the swipe of a room card key or a person stationed at either end.

Boyfriend and I stayed over after a wedding this weekend, the hotel room was gorgeous! I never wanted to leave! We stayed in room 305 it said «the royal suite» but I’m not sure how it was different from the standard suits because it was our first time staying there. The décor is gorgeous and modern, everything was so clean, the shower was amazing shower head, body jets and removable shower head. Bed was huge and comfortable. Two closets, two flat screen tvs. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Nothing bad to say at all except I wish I stayed more than one night!

I’ve been to Fox Hollow for weddings in the past, but this was the first time I attended an affair for business. The location is scenic and food very good.
I’m a murder mystery writer (and independent or indie) and was invited by a gal pal who chaired the event to the annual luncheon of the Romance Writer’s of American (RWA).
As writers entered we were offered a flute of champagne with a bit of strawberry in it. Then it was off to the appetizer table with a truly impressive array of choices. The meal was sit down and almost everyone at our table chose the salmon, which was done very nicely. One gal chose the pasta primavera. Dessert was a very rich chocolate cake. There was even an ice cream sundae table after that which added to the calories.
They also have a restaurant which takes reservations. I’ve never been here for Mother’s day but did happen to see the menu when I was there to attend a wedding. I’m nosy and look at everything. I’m told they also offer a New Year’s Eve party. On the grounds is a lovely small hotel. I’ve never stayed there either but have walked around on the lower level and from what I could see it’s lovely.

Loved this hotel! Got it as a hotwire steal! The beds are suites, so there is plenty of room. The bathrooms are slightly outdated (you can see peeling paint etc etc), but it has that «antique» look to it. The lobby has complimentary coffee/​tea. There were no cookies every time i went to check it out unfortunately. I love cookies so I was highly disappointed, but my shame prevented me from asking.
The complimentary breakfast is also very nice. Has a diverse selection, such as cottage cheese. I am not the biggest fan of cottage cheese, but hey, props for the diversity!

This hotel is a great place to get ready at especially if your getting married there. The staff is always polite. Great clean up dated rooms.

Absolutely loved this place! There are so many things that I enjoyed about my stay at the Inn at Fox Hollow.
First off, it was super convenient since the venue that my husband and I were getting married at was right next door. The accommodations were amazing. They had very large spacious rooms for us and our guest staying for our wedding. There was a king size bed with too many pillows to count. The bathroom was huge and the vanity space by the sink left enough room for two people to function without bumping elbows or getting in each others way. Each room had a comfy robe and slippers (charged for if you open!) but was a nice touch ;). There was also a small kitchenette with a fridge and the best part to that was a kuerig machine for that all important morning caffeine rush!
Aside from room accommodations, the hotel offered a complimentary American breakfast buffet with all the trimmings! Now this is not your typical, «here’s a muffin and some cold cereal», oh no, this had the works. Scrambled eggs, french toast, pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, toast… you name it they had it there. Not to mention a nice little area for you and your guest to eat together right by the cozy fireplace. There was also a bar there that my guest were able to enjoy after the wedding for some drinks.
The Inn at Fox Hollow was the space for our wedding photos. There were a dozen great spots in the hotel for our bridal party and my husband and I to take photos that were absolutely gorgeous. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and it made the photos that much more special.
There were only a couple of things that I had issues with. As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I used the Inn at Fox Hollow for our wedding guests to stay the night. We had initially created a room block for our guests to make reservations for the hotel. The plus side? The price was fantastic for the room blocks, and for the rooms we stood in, definitely worth it. Now the downside is that you MUST cover 60% of the room blocks otherwise you will be charged for the remaining total of that said 60%. So for example, I booked 40% of my rooms, I would be responsible for 20%. Minimum is 10 rooms, which I should of stayed with, but unfortunately I was expecting more and in the end shelled out a lot of money to cover my 60%.
Also, communication for the most part was fair with the Inn, not great. Laura was who I was initially working with to set up the block and she was very helpful in the beginning and getting the contract signed. She was away on vacation, or something, toward the weeks to my wedding and I began dealing with Marielle, who I was discussing mostly the finances with for the hotel. She was fine, but communication was a bit lacking and some e-​mails I never got replies to. When it came to the payment of rooms to meet the 60%, I had to make 3 attempts to get her to call me back, which annoyed me since I was returning her calls.
Lastly, the only other thing that really annoyed me was the fact that our room was never made up the one night we stood. We decided to stay Thur/​Fri and leave Saturday. Every other guest of ours that were staying had their room cleaned in a timely manner except ours. Not sure why this happened, our door hanger was never on the entire two nights.
I would love to stay here again, maybe for a weekend, and enjoy the amenities that the Inn at Fox Hollow offers.
