My roommates and I tried this adorable bistro for the first time today. We love Ethiopian food, and weren’t even sure we would find a good place in Woodbridge, but checked on Unilocal, and discovered Safi. This bistro is truly a hidden gem. The owners are incredibly sweet and so much fun to talk to. We adored them! The inside is small, so probably would not be able to accommodate larger groups for now, but for groups of 5 or less it is the perfect place to meet for lunch or coffee. I think we tried a fair amount of the dishes they had available today, also their cappuccino, tea, and cake and it was all delicious. There was literally nothing left on any plate that they brought us. If you like Ethiopian food, you will want to try this place. If you’re new to Ethiopian food, you also definitely want to try this place because the owners will explain all of their dishes to you if you need and help you decide what to order. Lets just talk for a second about how CUTE the décor was. It’s beautifully painted and accented with the most charming«coffee shop» art. I super loved the rustic wood motif that makes the counter. The atmosphere is inviting, warm, and cozy. We could tell when we walked in that it’s a very happy place. Good vibes all around. We will be forever customers for sure and I can’t wait to go back!

My boyfriend and I were looking for something a little different than what you typically find in the Woodbridge area so we decided to try this place. Thomas and his sister couldn’t have been more accommodating. We split the specialty full dish and egg sandwich. The bread was superb and the dishes flavorful. He also made us two Americana coffees, followed by two special coffees made similar to the way he drinks it at home. The drinks were incredibly smooth, for coffee. We recommend this place to everyone. We were able to enjoy a quiet breakfast in a small bistro setting. The personal conversation with the owners made the experience even more enjoyable.

What can I say? We stumbled upon here because we had a deep craving for full and the I95 was backed up to the point where my husband was getting sick and irritable in the car. So I had to offer a back up plan. I’m so excited we found Safi Bistro. The owner Thomas as so inviting and welcoming. The espresso was delicious and the specialty full was exactly what we both needed. Thomas treated us to some special ginger tea and biscotti and we were just blown away by his passion for life. We watched many different groups of people walk in and out while we were there and he was just as warm to all of them. We will definitely be back next week! We love supporting independent businesses. I highly recommend Safi to anyone looking for great coffee, food and conversation.

This is a lovely little café with the sweetest owners. They remember my name and always great my very warmly when I walk through the door. They are currently a small café, but if you ask very nicely and in advance they will order in so injera for customers to buy. I believe they also sell it on the weekends. So if any Woodbridge Ethiopians are looking for some good injera I totally recommend Safi. Not to forget it’s a super cute store with great décor. I would recommend this place to anyone!

This place is great. The sandwiches, soups, salads and omlettes are all delicious. The coffee and spice teas are also very good. I highly recommend it for a late breakfast or lunch!
