I have been a customer at Fantastic Sams ever since it opened, at least 10 years ago. They seem to go through hair stylists frequently. I have had so many different hair stylists at Fantastic Sams in Woburn. I only have a shampoo and haircut, not blow dry or styling(I live one block away, and I actually prefer to style my own hair). I have never had a bad haircut. Each stylist gave me the cut I requested. I go there for a great haircut at a good price. Plus they send coupons to your email inbox, saving you more money. They are all professional. I read the other poor rated reviews, and it compelled to write a review. I rarely ever write a review.

Came back today… That’s it, We can’t come back here again!!! The place is packed and there are only 2 hairdressers. The owner must be really cheap as there isn’t even anyone working the front desk. Already been here for about 20 min and no one has even taken our name. We walked out. I doubt anyone noticed. Too bad, I’m sure they lose tons of business. Won’t be back again.

I took a chance and went here despite the bad reviews as all I wanted was a wash and blow out and could not get it to my regular hairdresser. I had Susan and she did a great job. Very nice and professional. The place was clean and tidy. They cleaned/swept the floor after each client. I will go back again.

I hate this place officially! the little short girl with a nose ring with 2 colored hair seems like she is in highschool. she was cutting my hair while yapping away with her co-workers and her boyfriend who was sitting there watching(distracted her).and the owner of the salon TRACY I think is her name was there she did not once tell this girl to lower it down and focus on the client. mind you(you have scissors in your hand) focus on me hello? I left and I gave her a small tip and the next day when I straightned my hair to see if she cut my hair even the way I wanted.(it was all uneven) I can’t believe. so immature. she needs to act more professional around clients. I will not go back to this salon! my hair is messed up for awhile. =(

Two words — terrible service! Walked in around 4:45 for a haircut. I was checked in and there were 2 people in front of me. No one gave me a time frame for how long it would be. There were only 2 people working and one had an appointment at 5:00 for a color. I guess for that, you put the color in and then wait. I thought that would be the opportunity for me to get my haircut since I was now the only one waiting. Instead the hairdresser was walking around, not really doing anything. I walked out after almost an hour — with NOHAIRCUT. And this is the SECOND time this has happened at this place. I WILLNEVERBEGOINGBACKTOFANTASTICSAM’S INWOBURN. TERRIBLESERVICE!

Went to Fantastic Sams with my 10 yr old daughter. The woman informed me that my daughter had lice nits. I brought her to the doctor to get checked out and nothing. All that panic because of hair stylists that Sams’ hires are not trained. Terrible service. I’m sure they will be going out of business soon. If looking for a good hair salon, try Supercuts

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER!!! I brought my 11 year-old daughter in to Fantastic Sam’s to get a shampoo, cut and blow-dry, and told the receptionist that she likes her hair dried straight. We signed in. A woman came up to me and said, «You know, that is going to be $ 31.95 «(the sign said a wash, cut and blow-dry was $ 21.95). I said, «No problem.» A few minutes later, a woman came up and waved me over to talk. She said she found a lice nit in my daughter’s hair, and that they could not take care of her. They said to take her to her doctor to get checked out, «or go to CVS if you don’t want to pay the co-pay»(huh? I never indicated any concern about money) My daughter DOESNOT have lice!!! I truly think that the woman did not want to do more than wet her hair down with a spray bottle and give her a cut, and she felt we were asking too much — on a Saturday at 4pm. But, really??? Do you need to go to the extent of saying she has lice??? There was a sign board at the entrance that said, «Sorry, we cannot help you if you have lice». I think they are just using that as a disclaimer to turn people away that they don’t feel like serving. I realize that Fantastic Sam’s is a place for beginning hairdressers, and I know the level of service to expect for what I am paying when i bring my children there — especially after the time they cut my son’s ear with the scissors and there was blood everywhere. But this is surely the poorest customer service experience I have had at a salon. I am still SHOCKED and I will never go back, and the two women who did this will probably never have successful careers as hairdressers, for obvious reasons.

I got my hair cut there once trying to save a few bucks. What a waste of time and money. I wouldn’t be surprised if the person cutting my hair was on their first day of work with no prior experience cutting hair. The haircut was so awful I ended up going to a stylist I had used before in another town the very next day to try and undo what«Fantastic»(hah!) Sam’s did. For a few dollars more go to any nearby stylist or barber and you’ll be a lot better off.

Never actually went to the salon for a cut, called and spoke with someone to try to get an idea of when a good time would be to bring my three kids(all under 5!) for a cut. The receptionist wouldn’t give me an answer, she kept saying just come in a put your name on the list. I got so annoyed that they couldn’t give me a straight answer I just waited for my sister to come back from vacation… much easier!
