I could not recommend this dental office any higher. I’m always an absolute nervous wreck before going to the dentist and a huge baby about it — just completely terrified and will literally flinch away before anyone has even touched me. Needless to say, I don’t make their job easy. Due to the aforementioned irrational fear, I’m a little embarrassed to admit I have cried in their office on more than one occasion… but they’re always understanding and very reassuring. Their entire staff couldn’t be nicer, from the receptionists to the dental assistants to the dentists themselves.
I need some work done that was a little out of my current price range since I’m planning my wedding, but they have worked with me on figuring out financing and just making a stressful situation manageable. (Thank you to Kathy for all of your help!)
Added bonuses: Their office is beautiful; they send you text reminders before appointments and will call to remind you when you’re due for a cleaning; all of their equipment is super up to date… I couldn’t be happier that I found them.

I’ve been seeing Dr Coakley for about a year now. I went to a dentist in Boston that said I have severe tooth decay and wanted to do over $ 6000 of work, including a root canal. I panicked and called around to find out if someone had a trusted Dentist. Dr Coakley took me within days and immediately put me at ease that although I had some delayed maintenance, we could play catch up and in less than a year I have healthy teeth and back on track! The staff there is awesome. Super friendly, no pressure, flexible with my schedule and budget. I know i’m in good hands!!!

I’ve been a patient there for several years. They are kind, caring, and professional. It is inappropriate for anyone on Unilocal to review the actual quality of care as none of us are experts in this field. However, they are proactive but not excessive in their treatment recommendations. They are very helpful with insurance concerns, and I find everyone very friendly.
In particular, Jen (the hygienist) and Dr. Mancuso are great.
I don’t believe it’s appropriate for professional offices to be reviewed on Unilocal,but I also think that not enough of the happy clients take the time to review. I recommend them highly, and my entire family goes here.

I have been a patient of Coakley and Trainor, for approx. 5 years. When I first became a patient here, it had been about a decade since I’d been to a dentist. I am so happy that I found these guys, had I not, I probably would still be avoiding the dentist. My teeth are happy and healthy due to this dental office.
Really just a great practice. The staff is attentive, informative and very comforting during procedures that can be anxiety provoking. I have yet to experience any pain, during any procedure that I have had at Coakley and Trainor.
I do not have dental insurance, and even the accounting department has worked with me, with ease.
I recommend, 100%.

If I could give them no stars I would. They are on my top 10 list of dentists that were painful. I have had many years of dental work done. They suggested a root canal and it was pricey. I figured, well they know what they are doing so I’ll agree. I should have read the reviews about then before I signed on the dotted line. After my root canal and all was said and done, I was in pain. I went back many times to ask them why I can’t eat or drink anything. My other teeth have become very sensative. No, I am not exaggerating! They did multiple tests with multiple bills for «coming in.» I complained to my husband and he suggested getting a second opinion. I was stubborn and refused to listen. Eventually the dentist told me in a nice way that there was nothing they could really do. I went to a second dentist and they figured exactly what to do. Also I got a new job and my insurance wasn’t covered there. However, they continued to try and tell me that I could pay them now and insurance will cover the difference. Beware!!!

I’ve had two very awful and traumatic experiences here and will not be returning. First time, the dental assistant got the cleaning tool stuck in between my teeth for like 45 seconds. It gave me a migraine the rest of the day for a simple cleaning. Next time, Dr. Mancuso did NOT give me enough anesthetic before proceeding to work on a filling. I had to physically stop her from hurting me before she gave me more anesthetic. Truly the most painful dental experience of my life. Never ever going there again. Run the other way folks, their office is nice and shiny but the staff are inept.

I continue to amazed by the service this office provides for myself and my husband. I am surprised to see the negative reviews that concerning costs. Unfortunately, it seems like some people don’t value dentistry as something that has to be paid for. For us, we are concerned with our health as well as our appearance– and understand that we have to pay for our dental work. The best thing about this office is that they make you fully aware of the necessary treatment and the costs associated with it BEFORE you even schedule an appointment. They are also more than fair with working out a payment plan if we can’t pay in full for any appointment. It sounds like other people may think dental insurance covers in full for all treatment– but that’s just not the case. Talk to your insurance company– don’t hold it against the dental office!

After multiple visits to Drs. Coakley and Trainor, I have had the opportunity to work with many of the staff members. Each and every single person I have worked with truly cared about making my comfort their priority while I was in the chair. At my routine visits the doctor and hygienist took the time to explain what was/​is going on in my mouth. They used pictures and X-​rays to help me understand why I needed the treatment they recommended. Whenever I had any questions they would answer them without any judgment. I never felt like I was being sold and most importantly I knew that they had my oral health in mind. Over the last year I have had an extraction, gum grafts, fillings, crowns and a bridge done! If I had only found this office sooner maybe I would have been able to avoid some of the problems I have had with my teeth. I now understand prevention is key! I’m so relieved to have found such a fantastic dentist in the area!

Was stuck with a large Bill because dentist office couldn’t verify my wife insurance properly. Whats the point of sitting my wife down and reviewing the insurance and making my wife pay a percentage.
If they just ends up getting it wrong.
Claim that it was the insurance company fault for giving them the wrong information, and when calling the insurance company they have no record of this office calling them.
The office claim it was there policy to call and confirm.
And. My insurance policy is to make a record of all call s. Zero record from this office.
Clearly a mistake is made.
This is a lesson learned, can’t rely on this office to verify.
There advertisement of insurance under our office should be removed. Complimentary and stress free is bogus.
What the point of sitting my wife down making he pay a percentage and then 2month later we get stuck with a random bill saying we owe xxx amount of dollar with no explanation.
Would never gone through this procedure knowing we owe that much. They also already made a considerable amount from previous visit.

As a total dentalphobe I put off going to the dentist until I absolutely had to — I’m glad that I chose Coakley and Trainor. I was able to get in to see Dr Mancuso the exact day I called, quick x-​rays, treatment of my problem and out the door — at no expense because I had one of their mailers. I just walked out from my follow up «scaling» — which is a high intensity cleaning, (because of my own neglect) and everyone went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable during the whole process.
Because I don’t have dental insurance, I googled the typical cost of what I was having done and this office came in as an average cost (obviously the process was more expensive in NYC). As horrible as my past dental history has been Coakley and Trainor was such a RELIEF.
I will be going back for the second half of my scaling next friday and I’m not even the least bit concerned for it. Dentalphobe convert? Perhaps.

I went in for an evaluation, x-​rays etc. Colleen was my go to girl, she was amazing she showed me pictures of my teeth explained everything. The office staff was very thorough I am going back on Tuesday for a cleaning and I’m excited for my visit. The office décor was adorable every room is a different movie theme. The billing manager Sheila Berry was extremely helpful to me as well. I def recommend Coakley and Trainor.

Unfortunately I had several negative experiences with this office and cannot recommend them. They told me that I needed procedures that 2 other dentists from other practices reviewed and said were not necessary. Their pricing is inflated. Their office management staff was unresponsive to several inquiries.

I am dental-​phobic and have resisted going to the dentist for far too long based on several bad experiences in years past. I was dragged to Coakley & Trainor by a current client and I am forever grateful that they made me go. From the minute you walk in the door, you know it’s going to be a great experience. There is a friendly buzz in the air and you couldn’t ask for a warmer greeting than Robyn the receptionist gives you. I filled out basic paperwork in less than 15 minutes and was taken for my appointment on time. My hygienist Colleen was incredible and knew w/​o me saying anything (based on comments on my paperwork) that I was nervous. She put me at ease and was warm, conversational and very humorous throughout. It was also immediately clear that she knew her stuff. I saw Dr. Trainor and, again, the time he took to explain even the x-​ray procedures to me was both exceptional and appreciated. Their equipment is state of the art and the busy office is exceptionally well managed and staffed. You get the sense that not only do these people care about their patients but they also care about the employees. It’s nice to see an office that also HAS staff, instead of a more typical dentist where everyone seems to be rushed, harried and juggling too much work with too little time. I am also finding it VERY hard to believe a couple of the negative reviews here (the poor grammar in both being my first tip-​off). I was taken through every step of the process and nothing I was given or told was excessive, the most expensive or «just because.» I did my research before my appointment and after. Everything I was told and the treatments I am scheduled for check out perfectly with multiple sources. Sure, there are bargain basement dentists in strip malls around the state but you get what you pay for. I don’t trust low rent optometrists with my eyes and I am certainly not going to put my adult dental care in the hands of low end dentists. THIS will be my new dental office for the foreseeable future and I would recommend them as strongly as they were recommended to me.

Born in a country with no fluoride in the drinking water, Needless to say, I had major dental issues. I was recommend by a friend to go to Dr. Coakley’s. The staff was so welcoming when I finally got the courage to get my teeth worked on. Dr. Coaklely was so kind and gentle. I had no other dentist to compare him to. But from my experience, I considered him the best. Not only did he correct my dental problems, he also schooled me on proper dental hygiene and prevention. Now my only prob is that I no longer live in the area. I only wish there were more professionals that actually care about their patients like they do at Dr. Coakley’s office. Keep up the good work!

The staff is very friendly but I had a bad experience with them. I went to them on an emergency basis (I was between dentists and was hoping to develop a long-​term relationship) and they recommended a great deal of work that I could not afford – they have TWO (count-​em TWO) financial counselors who can explain how you can borrow the money at a high rate of interest to have their work done. I was comfortable with the work they performed but unhappy at the costs and the «hard sell.»
The worst, though, was shortly thereafter my father-​in-​law had a crown fall off that needed to be glued on temporarily until he could get to his own dentist. He received a bill for a complete new patient exam including x-​rays that weren’t taken and a cleaning that was not done. My father-​in-​law paid it because he did not want to damage my supposed relationship with the dentist, and he did not tell me until long after the fact. I don’t have a relationship with them – I never went to them again after that.

I have to say Coakley and Trainor have a great staff, and are conveniently located in Woburn right near Horn Pond (which has great walking hiking trails) so you could have your appoinment and then go for a walk. The staff is friendly and use state of the art treatment and technology. They always got the job done right and always told you what was going on with your teeth. I unfortunately couldn’t see them anymore because I had to get on the free state neighborhood health plan and I wish I could still see them they were that good. (yeah they are a bit pricey but its worth it to have a good set of teeth!) imho

They are con Artist but you will like Staffs and procedures are comfortable. I would love to go there only if I was ready to spend whole paycheck on these lovely people. They just apply anything which won’t be needed and since that is not needed insurance does not cover that.
Like fluoride treatment for 30+ years adult. Will try to find other dentist who can let me know the cost (with 20% up or down) upfront, so that I don’t see huge bill after simple cleaning.

The staff here is incredible from the minute you walk in the door to the minute you walk out. I have been a patient here from a few years now and have had great experience every time. I have seen Dr Coakley and Dr Mancuso and you can tell they really care. The last time I was in she gave me headphone so I could listen to my music. Makes going to the dentist easy.
