If you are a provider, stay away from them. I have now spent multiple hours on the phone with them, trying to get paid for services I provided back in January. They admit that they made a mistake and that it will be resolved but it now has been 4 months and I still have not gotten paid!

Hardly any coverage for adolescent care. Lame, limited coverage for adults. How could Tufts have chosen this shoddy management company for people who actually need to NOT have to jump through hoops for mental health care, shouldn’t have to BEG for coverage out of network because their network is so limited. Yet… here it is. A mental health management company that throws up endless obstacles for those that need mental health care.

The worst. Dealing with them is like being in a Kafka novel, an unending circle of bureaucracy, blameshifting, and shoulder shrugging at pretty legitimate problems. If the internet is a series of tubes, the tube that goes from submitting your claims to Beacon (formally Valueoptions) obviously opens up into a bottomless pit, where claims drift forever, tumbling, tumbling down. I look forward to the day when we find out that Beacon Health is just a shell corporation for the mafia, as imaginary as a Unicorn on the street for which it is named. If you have an option to avoid them, please do so. To the rest of us… uh, good luck?

Filed over 5 complaints and they should be out of business. They are supposed to cover mental health insurance claims — I need counseling after the long waits on hold and chronic problems they have processing claims. The worst company I have ever dealt with.

I would agree that they are extremely frustrating. Their website is quite bad (it makes you think you are in the 1990’s) and they are very nice on the phone but really can’t help you. I really would not recommend them.

I was refereed to Beacon by East Bay Regional. I have been dealing with them for the last 3 weeks with no results. All I needed was a referral for Autism screening. No one knows whats going on. No return calls. Unbelievable.

Horrible! If I could give this company a 0 I would. I called them last week to find a therapist that deals with infertility. The guy on the phone told me he didn’t know what infertility was! Then he tried to tell me that I should be able to go see any psychologist about this and when I said I mentioned seeing a social worker he said oh yeah, I guess social workers do some mental health treatment. What??? Then he told me that there is no such thing as a therapist who specializes in this. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said oh all our supervisors left early today. Then a supervisor called me the next day and tried giving me the name of 2 therapists that know about infertility. Well I looked them up and they just happened to list infertility among the other 100 «specialties» they listed. I’ve put about 40 infertility therapists into their system and not a single one is a member. This company is seriously clueless. If you need help, avoid this company at all costs.

Let’s make money by pretending to offer insurance to people who see mental health service providers… get all that group insurance money and then offer a side order of passive aggressive with our main course of confusing, conflicting, vague answers to questions. As to why they declined to reimburse your claim. It’s perfectly legal and utterly sinister.

THese guys are insanely slow at processing my claims, and have required multiple phone calls with conflicting info. Look elsewhere if you can for your coverage!
