Specialties
The main body of my our work involves aerial photography and gyro stabilized aerial video. We have a network of aircraft (both planes and helicopters) all over New England, which helps us keep our customers costs down by being able to drive to the nearest aircraft, cutting down on flight time, which is the most expensive part of any aerial job. Once the mission is complete, we use the latest versions of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro, and After Effects, for our photo editing and video production. Depending on out customers needs, we can provide them with just the raw images/video, or we can produce complete videos, including graphics and music. Need additional photos or video shot on site? Not a problem. We use professional Canon DSLR’s, Canon «L Series» lenses, Kenyon Labs Gyro Stabilizers, and GoPro Cameras. This combination allows us to shoot in the air, on the ground, on the water, or under the water. Let us know what you need, and we’ll make it happen!
History
Established in 2006.
Maine Imaging was established in 2006, but my aerial photography actually started in 1996, when I was approached by a client in South Carolina to photograph their golf courses from the air so that they could have a «virtual» golf course on their website. Soon afterwards, several other resorts wanted the same thing, and for a while, all I shot was golf courses and resorts. A couple of years later, I moved back to Maine, switched to digital equipment, and began shooting youth sports in my spare time. Youth sports is still a part of what we do, as well as senior portraits, Land and Seascapes, Lighthouses, and Nature. But our bread and butter is made in the air.
Meet the Business Owner
Dave C.
Business Owner
I started taking pictures as a kid, with a kodak 110 instamatic camera. I continued to make images through high school, college, and beyond, but my first job as a pro shooter revolved around golf courses and resorts in the Carolinas, back in 1990. A couple of years later, I bought that company and expanded it to 10 golf courses and over 30 employees. By 2000, I felt the need to move back to Maine. I took a break from (professional) photography for a couple of years, and then one day was approached by a friend who wanted to know if I would be interested in shooting their youth sports programs. Apparently, they weren’t happy with the large company that had been doing the work. I continued my day job and shot photography jobs on the side, right up until I got so busy that I was working 90+ hour weeks. I left my «real» job, and became self employed for the second time in my life. That was in 1998, and we’ve been growing, and evolving, ever since.
