Fur and Feathers Pet Resort

Great service, my dogs were so happy there. Ileana was great and is genuinely caring with all pets!

We made a reservation March 7, 2015 for December 4 – 13, 2015 for our 2 cats for our 25^th Anniversary cruise for 10 days.
We left a deposit of $ 50.00.
We were quoted by Shelly a charge of $ 62 per cat per day for a suite. We were also given the 50% discount for first time clients. So the $ 1240 total charge became $ 620.00 minus the $ 50 deposit came to a final total due of $ 570.00
I called back in June to reconfirm our reservation and deposit and amount due. Again spoke with Shelly. No problem.
I call back yesterday, October 12, 2015 to now find out according to Christine that the 50% discount is only for dogs.
Then she puts me in hold, comes back and says she can discount to 10%. Christine again puts me on hold and comes back with a final amount: $ 825.00…minus the $ 50 deposit now leaves a total due of $ 775.00.
That is a $ 205 difference from our original quote.
I call to cancel today October 13, 2015 and again I am told something ELSE different: that they DO offer 50% for cats… just not during December.
I don’t know about you folks but when I am planning a very important trip and plan far enough ahead I don’t appreciate the amount and story to keep changing on me.
I never received any phone calls or email communications informing me of any changes or mistakes.
It was ONLY when I checked did I find out.
Shelly, the employee who originally quoted us still works there.
She should be fired and our original quote honored.
But that is not the case.
Fur and Feathers would not honor the original quote.
So, if I were you, I would think twice before doing business with someone who changes policy at whim.
EDIT: Owner contacted me with a verbal offer for original quote.
But at this juncture and considering we are at 5 weeks from our trip, I need it in writing. That has yet to happen.
But I did get my $ 50 deposit back.
The saga continues.
EDIT: No reply. Not going in writing. I’m not the verbal type.
Fool me once.
We DUN.
I’m not getting paid for 6 months of back and forth BS.
Lesson learned: get it in writing.
Moving on.

We have been taking our beagle to fur and feathers for probably 8 years and have been throughly satisfied! The staff is very warm and comforting to our dog! The owners are compassionate and very knowledgable of all types of pets ! Our dog especially likes the play time and the attention given when she arrives. You gotta give them a try!

Great customer service but beware of additional fees! All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and obviously love animals, especially Shelley, who was wonderful. They cared for my dog for the weekend and she seemed happy and healthy when returned. What I didn’t like were the fees added to the daily board rate.
As a first time customer you can get the 50% board. BUT, this coupon requires you to purchase one of their «packages» each day starting at $ 13. Then you are required to donate $ 5 to the charity they chose (not that I mind donating to charity but resent being forced to do so). Then you are required to pay the $ 1/​day «insurance». I hate to be nickle and dimed, just add the silly insurance to the board rate. And besides, this «insurance» is to pay up to $ 500 in vet expenses if my animal should be injured? Wouldn’t the business be required to pay for vet care if my animal was injured on their watch through their negligence??? This fee just feels like a CYA… Really?!? So after all these additional fees my final bill was more than if I’d not used the coupon!
As for the required «playtime package», you pay for it everyday you board, including the day you drop off and pick up. So for my dog staying just a few hours on the day I picked up I paid $ 13 for one playtime (includes a gourmet treat too, apparently)?? I don’t need a «playtime» if I’m picking up that day! But, you are forced to if you want to use the coupon.
My tips? Forget using the coupon– you’ll just pay more (unless you were going to pay for the package each day anyway).
Get an estimate before you leave your dog. I wasn’t fully aware of the total until pick up and by that time its too late to change anything.
Based on the staff we encountered I’d give this place a 5. I feel for them because they are having to break the news to customers about all the extra fees. It appears very nice and clean. There are lots of glass panels in the lobby where you can peek down opulent halls. I know the business is involved with rescue and charity groups. They certainly will pamper your pet, but be prepared to pay $$.

I was new to the Winter Garden area and have three dogs that need to be groomed. We found Fur and Feathers Pet Resort on the Internet. It was close to where I live so I went over to check the facility out. The young women at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Marianne is the one who grooms my fur babies and we are now beginning our second round of grooming for all three. I also found them to be reasonable for basic grooming on small dogs.

Fur and Feathers Pet Resort is an ‘AWESOME” place to leave your family pet. They have a ‘Heart Centered Staff’ that truly cares about your pet and treats them just like one of their own family members. I will always choose Fur and Feathers, as I know that everything from A to Z will be taken care of for my 3 dogs. I love the way they actually get to know the unique personalities of my fur babies, they take the time to give them extra attention when staying there. Being greeted as I walk in the front door by name, and the way they treat me and my fur family makes my husband and I feel confident in their services. The value and piece of mind I get knowing they are being played with, talked to and loved like we do at home allows me to enjoy my time away from them instead of worrying. They always smell so nice when I pick them up, their grooming services are top notch as well. I would highly recommend this Pet Resort to all my friends and family. Thanks for all you do for us… by the way the Cinco de Mayo party yesterday was a blast… I loved the pictures you shared with me, and the cool little gift bags that Karma, Bodhi and Roxie went home with. Next year I am entering the canine limbo contest. ;) YOUR STAFF ROCKS!!!

Prior to our trip to Fla to thaw out this past Feb we found Fur&Feathers on the web, contacted them and made a sight unseen reservation, primarily due to their website and very professional, helpful staff and the great reviews. This was our first trip from Michigan with our new 5 month old Goldendoodle, Bailey. Upon arrival to Fla, we were invited to stop by Fur&Feathers for a meet and tour the day prior to our reservation date. Without a doubt we made the best choice in daycare. The next day we dropped her off with pure confidence in her care. Several hours later, we picked her up and her behavior told us she had a great day. Several days later we planned an all day shopping trip and Bailey was delighted to return to Fur&Feathers. I highly recommend it. Great staff, great accommodations, very positive environment for pets. We will certainly visit them when we are back in the Orlando area.

I only write reviews when I see ridiculous bad reviews that are incorrect.
We have been using Fur and Feathers for at least 6 years now, to board our two cockatiel birds for about 20 days in April. We do this every year. The bird boarding area is very clean. Fur and Feathers require a health checkup certificate from the vet before you can even board your birds, which we do, and I believe is an excellent policy.
When we come home, our birds are completely healthy, and seem happy. They obviously have been taken well care of and given at least a little attention. Because we have seen consistent positive care for years from Fur and Feathers, I cannot believe any of the reviews that say things like «worst experience of our lives». Birds are very fragile compared to dogs, and they would be dead or sick if they were not given the proper care that they need for a long period of time.
I highly recommend Fur and Feathers.

I wanted to try a new boarding place closer to my home. I normally board our dog at Best Friends and they are always lovely and never had issues. I also wanted to save a little money but without less care. I found this place doing a search, called them to get pricing and the lady was very nice. Unfortunately, I did have to give out a lot of info before she could get a price for me, but decided they were competitive and offered more in the realm of playtime than my dog’s previous boarding facility. I booked and put down a $ 50 deposit. I also had to bring my dog’s shot records prior to boarding first to make sure everything was square beforehand and there were no hiccups come check-​in time. I noticed the lobby did smell and was a bit crowded with birds. I would have thought they could have found a better place for the magnificent creatures but I guess they have no room. I dropped off my dog, the ladies seemed rushed so it concerned me that they may have not heard something I said.
…Come check-​out time, the lobby didn’t smell, so PLUS! I guess the bird cages were cleaned out recently. When I got there, there wasn’t anyone in the lobby because the one staff member was getting a couple dogs for someone checking them out. Then, she looked a bit winded (poor thing) as she started the process to check out my dog, went back to get him. She was very helpful since I forgot his leash and she helped get him into the van for me. She forgot his progress report so had to run back to get that, but hand-​delived it to my vehicle. She was a trooper.
Only two concerns, the lobby and wishing more on staff in the lobby. Other than that, my dog was in great shape, treats were eaten, so was his food. He looked healthy and was glad to be back home. Thanks.
Oh, another thing… There is a coupon listed on their site for half off boarding they would not honor being a premium time of year to board, which is understandable. That should be listed on the terms on the coupon as they could get into trouble for not honoring it. As a Graphic Designer that made website adverts and promos, I know too well what happens when terms are not fully covered, you can get fined. Just an FYI.

We have been bringing «Sam» here for a long time now and have had nothing but great experiences. We like watching him on their web cams and the staff is super friendly. We highly recommend these guys if you have a furry loved one in the Orlando area.

over the course of 3 days after i picked my dog up from a 3 day board at fur and feathers, i pulled 26, yes 26, ticks off of her. she was on tick control medicine and i had even given her a dose of ivermectin 2 weeks before having her boarded. as a person who has personally suffered many years from lyme disease (yes, it exists in florida!), i was overwhelmed with frustration and fear. sorry, guys but there’s just no way i can trust my dog to a facility that has a tick problem this bad. also, i was never given a login/​password to access their in-​room live cameras. aside from the ticks and the camera issues, this place has a lot of potential.

Charlotte was in need of a good grooming, and I took her in this morning for just that. When I picked her up I couldn’t believe the difference. Out came a perky pup with her hair so beautifully done! Cut away from her eyes, she could see again. She is only 5 pounds but can be a bit of a priss! I asked for her hair to be cut away from the face, but angled, lamp chop legs, and smooth the body down without taking too much away. They did it all and more!

I have been bringing my dogs to Fur and Feathers for about 5 years and love it! I never worry when I drop them off, and love watching them on the webcam during their playtime. I have booked them in a kennel and in a private suite, and I am not sure if they know much of a difference or not, but I do notice that they smell better when they stay in a suite. I do like that Fur and Feathers offer the option of grooming or baths during their stay.
The staff is exceptional and caring and I know that my dogs are in good hands while I am away. My only gripe is that I wish Sunday lobby hours were offered for pick up and drop off. Sometimes it’s too hard to wait until Monday to pick my little guys up after I’ve been away.

My dogs were boarded at Fur and Feathers for over a week. When I picked my dogs up I was informed that they had ticks. This surprised me because my dogs have never had ticks before. They informed me that the ticks had been removed. A week later both dogs had ticks all over their bodies. I took the dogs to my vet and they had flea/​tick baths. I was informed by the woman at the counter that there had been a number of dogs that had boarded at Fur and Feathers and the dogs had also got ticks there. After throwing out the dogs bedding and picking up huge ticks where the dogs slept I called Massey Services to come to my home to treat the whole house for ticks on the suggestion/​encouragement of my vet. Whatever you do, do not board your dogs at Fur and Feathers.
