Your dog will love our all-​day or half-​day supervised group play. We have four separate playrooms that each have their own outdoor playgrounds so we can separate dogs by size and play style. Our large play spaces offer room for your dog to make friends and get the exercise they need to keep them healthy. We also offer private daytime and overnight options with lots of individual attention.

Our overnight options include a private sleeping area, a penthouse suite (with flat screen TV and individual webcam so owners can check on their dog ²⁴⁄₇) or supervised slumber party with a limited number of other dogs and a trained staff member.

All playgrounds and indoor playrooms have webcams so your can watch your dog play while you are away.

Ruff Housing also offers full grooming services so your dog can get a full groom, or just a bath and a nail trim.

Basic and advanced raining classes are also available.

History

Established in 2004.

Ruff Housing was started in 2004 and purchased by Roger and Kim Vaughn in 2008. When Roger and Kim purchased Ruff Housing, they had one full time manager and 4 part time employees.

Since then, they have added overnight lodging, grooming and training. They have expanded in their current location on Witt St. and have opened a second location on Country Club Rd. They now have about 80 employees, extensive training programs, and detailed policies and procedures to help ensure that Ruff Housing provides an excellent experience for their four-​legged customers.

Business Owner

Kim is a graduate of UNC — Chapel Hill and worked in the corporate world as a pension actuary then a senior vice president of BB&T. After a couple of years as a stay-​at-​home mom, she and her husband, Roger, decided to purchase Ruff Housing and began to make incremental changes. Kim has done extensive research of best practices in the dog daycare and lodging industry and is certified as an Advance Pet Care Technician. Through referrals from great clients, the business has experienced amazing growth.
