What a great idea! Elegant informality just down from Old Salem, this is the perfect spot for a light meal and glass of wine or beer. Terrific for groups, the living room seating options make gatherings very easy. I sampled several local red wines from my first ever self-​service wine dispenser and we shared a cheese plate and charcuterie. I love the fact that this place is dedicated to local foods and I really hope they do well. Two things, however, will present a challenge; one within the owners control and the other not.
Service was very friendly and knowledgeable but unforgivably slow. I took them more than 30 minutes to server or two plates and there was hardly anybody there. I don’t know what they were doing back there but not waiting on us. The other thing is although they have great outside seating and it’s nice to be close to Old Salem, one of the nicest things about Winston-​Salem, they are right on busy South Main. The traffic noise sort of spoils the ambiance. Nevertheless, I’ll be back. We need more places like this.
