After the retirement of our long time pediatrician (who had also been mine as a child), I was faced with the daunting task of finding a new practice. I adored our previous doctor who knew my girls background without checking a single note. My kids are frequent visitors so it was essential to find a doctor who I could easily work with in their health needs and who understood us as individuals. I did not want a large group where each week I might end up with a different doctor in the practice. I wanted someone that knew us. I interviewed Dr Roma and was impressed, and from the moment my kids walked through her doors, there was excitement about exploring all the various nooks and crannies of toys and play areas! They loved every detail but especially the little fairy door at the base of the office desk! They are always excited to see Dr Roma and feel safe and comfortable there, which is a major concern with them. In just the past year and a half, we have gotten to know Roma extremely well (frequent flyer miles racked up from so many visits!) but best of all –Roma knows us! She knows the history of each daughter and the needs that child has, and she also knows how infections play out in their unique bodies. Needing to be more aggressive in some cases to help her get well and also where to let it run it’s course. Dr Roma just knows each child very well in her practice– it amazes me that someone can run a busy solo practice but still remember the little details of an individual child! I never thought I would find another pediatrician as great as our prior one (who retired at 78!) but I’m happy to say I have. My prayer is that one day my children can take their children to Dr Roma! She is just that wonderful of a pediatrician!

Honestly though, Dr. Franzia is an amazing doctor. She is knowledgeable, direct, comforting and a problem solver. My husband and I (first time parents) brought our six week old son to Dr. Franzia after going through two different pediatricians that provided no solutions to our problems.
I called Dr. Franzia’s office and was immediately set up with an appointment to see her. Within minutes of observing my son, she diagnosed him and had him on a plan to get him on the right track. My son has a milk protein allergy and acid reflux. She knew what his issues were and knew exactly how to treat them. Dr. Franzia was so positive and supportive to my family.
She saw my son for the first time on a Friday and I called her crying the very next day and she was so supportive, so confident that we were doing the right thing for my son and she gave me the confidence I needed and reassured me to stick with our plan and my son would be better in no time.
Dr. Franzia and her staff worked with my insurance company (we all know how annoying insurance companies are) and dealt with them to help us with prescription formula for my son because of his allergy. She wrote letters to the insurance company, answered phone call after phone call from us and them. She really goes beyond the average doctor. She is genuine and caring about children, she treats our son like she would treat her own children.
I honestly can’t say enough about what Dr. Franzia has done for my family. My son is a thriving, healthy, happy baby boy that melts my heart every time he smiles and I have Dr. Franzia to thank for that smile! A true heartfelt thank you Dr. Franzia from my family!

We have been with Dr. Franzia’s practice for 14 years and our experience has been flawless every step of the way with our two children. From the moment we met her she has been deeply dedicated to our family. My first child was in the ISCU after birth and she visited every day, helped us understand her condition and advocated for our daughter… and we weren’t even her responsibility yet! She is understanding, non-​alarmist but serious, proactive in treatment and always on top of the latest information. She treats the whole child. I wish every family could experience her incredible, passionate care. She is beyond compare. Her office is a delight. She is not only the best doctor you could ask for for your children but she is one of my idols in life for her approach to her work and her own daughters. LOVE her!

Dr. Roma Franzia sets the standard for what ALL doctors should aspire to and I truly wish I had a physician like her for myself! She has been like a member of my family for over a decade. As a mother herself she treats her patients as she would her own children and as such I trust her judgement implicitly. However, she also believes in and values my «mothers intuition» which is very important to me as I am by my own admission a high maintenance, hands on Mom! As a solo practitioner she is the closest thing left to the old fashioned family doctor who knows all their patients personally and sees them all grow up. If I need a sick appointment I am usually seen with an hour give or take. She is a smart, knowledgeable doctor up to date on all the latest research, medicines etc. She holds herself accountable to all her patients and is available round the clock. When I call her after hours — she answers the phone herself! She has seen me through illnesses while I traveling as well — taking middle of the night calls from Europe and elsewhere even speaking to foreign doctors when necessary. Her attention to detail led her to discover issues with my children that other pediatricians simply missed and even spans to pain management. Dr. Franzia utilizes numbing patches and numbing spray that make shots virtually painless. Her bedside manor is so comforting for both parent and child. From the moment you enter her office you feel surrounded by warmth and friendly staff. My children and I consider it a treat to go to her office and often can’t get them to leave! I could write an entire review on her office alone. She put so much effort into making her practice a place children would look forward to going and be comfortable and not afraid. I am astounded by it every time we go! A giant aquarium divides the separate sick/​well waiting rooms and the décor is breathtaking and lush. No cold, medical UV lights in this place — its crystal or nothing! Each treatment room is themed with gorgeous custom murals that cover all walls & ceilings, giant animal treatment tables, books (for children & adults), toys and child size furniture in all rooms make the children feel at home. Every nook & cranny is filled with a something lovely to look at right down to the decorative drains in the sinks! Pictures do not even do it justice — it really has to be seen to believed! My daughter wanted to have her birthday party there! She also idolizes her and wants to be a doctor just like Dr. Roma when she grows up! I simply cannot say enough good things about this doctor or recommend her highly enough!

If your looking for a pediatrician that really knows and cares for your children, then Dr. Roma is for you! She has been our pediatrician for 14 years and has been there for my children to celebrate their milestones and to nurture and care for their illnesses. She has a current and relevant approach with an old fashion grace. We love and trust her with our greatest treasures!

Dr. Franzia has been our trusted pediatrician for over 10 years now. She runs a wonderful solo practice which is becoming more and more uncommon in todays world. What that means is when you call… no matter what time of day… you will be dealing with her and only her. This is so importnant to me in terms of the continuity of care and really forging a relationship where my kids know and trust her. You will never feel rushed during a visit. She takes the time to listen carefully to all issues/​concerns and works with parents as a partner to treat the child effectively.
The office itself is absolutely beautiful. I promise you have never seen a doctor’s office like this. Each room is decorated differently with books and toys and murals to keep it children’s minds and bodies occupied and less anxious. I also aprreciate that while it doesn’t feel so «clinical» — it is always impecably clean. The Dr.‘s staff are always polite and helpful. The billing specialist has gone above and beyond to help resolve some insurance issues we experienced. The nurses are kind and knowledgeable.
Dr. Franzia has been there for our family from everything from ear piercing to middle of the night ememergency room visits and everything in between! She is knowlegeable, calm and dedicated to helping families to be happy and healthy. If you are in need of a pediatrician I reccommend calling her office to just to set up a preliminary visit. There you can see the space, meet her and ask any questions you have. This is how I met her and once I did I knew my search for a pediatrican was over.

dr roma is a fantastic doctor, we feel very lucky that she is our son’s doctor. she is always available whether it be at the office or on the phone at 3am. her offices are beautiful and welcoming to anyone — including children, it’s like a wonderland. I especially like that it’s a private practice — my son sees only dr roma who is always on top of things, no need to explain issues with a doc from a group practice who may or may not know my son. dr roma has 2 children herself so she also carries that mom experience with her and inspires new moms to trust their instincts. most of our appointments have been timely — there has been a time or 2 that we did have a long wait but I would want that special attention should it arise for my son so I am glad that she isn’t ruffled by keeping on schedule when a child’s well being is at stake. better to wait. I would, and have recommended dr roma to anyone who is looking for a unique experience with a great doctor.

I drive a distance for my children to receive Dr. Franzia’s care– we pass several other Pediatrician’s offices along the way because the care we receive from Dr. Franzia goes above and beyond. She has given 100% to my 3 children. She truly cares about them and has offered the most incredible support to their care. She diagnosed my daughter with a behavioral condition– when no one else could and supported us above and beyond during a time 2 of my children had surgery. Se offers continuity of care, same day appointments, immediate call backs, education and reference tools, and a comfortable and fun office for the children. Dr. Franzia is a true GEM, especially in this day and age of large practices and being treated like a number.

Roma lives by the concept of better living through chemistry. She often over prescribed antibiotics to my children and advised double doses of Tylenol and Motrin for fever reduction. She mis-​diagnosed my third child when he way under one year then kicked us out of her practice because we were too high maintenance for her. Less than one month later, my baby had to be rushed to Childrens Memorial Hospital from the Evanston Hospital ER because he was struggling for every breath. I have run into Roma around town several times since then. I told her what happened to my son. She could care less.
