Hyatt House Hartford North Windsor

Recently stayed here for a couple of nights. The suite was very spacious and clean. There was plenty of room for 2. The tv stand served as a divided between the bed and the living area. There was a full sized ironing board and iron that came in very handy. There was a small kitchen with a sink, tiny stove top for cooking and a fridge. There was also a microwave and some dishes and silverware. Breakfast was marginal but the staff was very pleasant and friendly. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We checked in this afternoon for one night. The people are nice, however our room has candy and crumbs everywhere! The sofa bed is dirty because all of the candy and crumbs that fell through the cushions. I cleaned up what I saw since my kids have food allergies. There were not enough towels for the number of people in my room. (We did request more towels and new sheets and they were at our door quickly). The shower grout has pink slime. The toilet doesn’t work, so hopefully there is one in the lobby to use until we can check out. As I am writing this, my kids just found dirty socks from a former guest on the floor. I have to say that I am shocked… we stayed a couple of years ago and it was nice and ‘new’ feeling. I would definitely have requested a new room if we weren’t going to be leaving in the morning. I hope someone from Hyatt does some retraining where it’s needed and get it back to the way things were.

Checked in for 1 night in their 1-​king standard room. It’s so spacious with living room, kitchen, bathroom and sleeping area. I was surprised about the layout. Kitchen comes equipped with stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave oven. Because it’s in the middle of business offices this hotel will be a great place for long stay biz trips. It will be nice to have a small supermarket near the hotel so we’d be encourage to cook! Otherwise their room amenities are pointless.
Bathroom: Spacious! It took awhile for the hot water to come on.
Heating system: Super loud. The fan ran in the middle of the nite sporadically. It woke me up!
Indoor pool: It’s great. Hot spa in the corner. Closes at 10 at nite.
Gym: Decent equipment; open 24 hours
Front Desk svc: Very good, staff is polite. You can buy snacks and drinks there (yes they sell beers for about $ 5 a bottle. Quite pricey so just step out and get a six pack from the grocery store.
Food svc: Complimentary bfast is available; dinner light chow is available from 5 – 7:30 — yes with some drinks too.
Parking: plenty of space there.

We’ve stayed here a few years ago and loved it. This time, there were some minor oddities that had us a little disappointed. We were only there for about 12 hours, so we didn’t say anything. If I had been staying for longer than that and hadn’t have been so tired, we might have complianed.
Got a double room suite for 3 people. Bathroom had a little mold growing around the bottom. The living room was too big for the furniture and the arrangement was awkward. None of the lights in the bedroom worked except the bathroom and the light on the desk. Luckily we were exhausted and all collapsed into bed and didn’t need much light that night. Found the clock radio unplugged and couldn’t figure out how to reset it. Just a lot of little things that added up and didn’t make it seem worth the $ 200 we paid for the night.

The breakfast and happy hour food is good and generous. The rooms are spacious. My problem really was the management was not responsive at all. I had requested and received late check out at 1 PM. When I went to room, the manager was there, and the cleaning staff had already cleaned room. The manager was unaware of the approval for late check out and was not at all nice. In fact she blamed me for coming to the room without first checking if I was supposed to have late checkout. My room was booked on points, and I wanted to stay an extra day. The front desk told me there was a room, and I cancelled my reservation at a Marriott in Hartford. Then when I called the front desk again, the manager told me that I could have a room only if I paid full rate, not for points. I am a very loyal and longstanding Hyatt member, and unfortunately that does not seem important. Getting the cash payment is more important. Maybe Hyatt does not encourage the hotels to encourage Hyatt rewards members. The management was not at all responsive and so I was not able to stay at this Hyatt House. I travel to that area frequently but I won’t ever stay there again. By contrast, the Marriott staff was so nice and accommodated me even after I had cancelled my original reservation when the Hyatt house fell through. I told Marriott the whole story and they worked hard to find a room for me using reward points. My advice: go to Marriott.

Recently stayed for 11 days and I cannot say enough about the staff, the shuttle drivers, the accomodations, the breakfast, the rooms, the hospitality dinners. The entire stay was made so special by the staff. They make sure that they roll out the red carpet for you.

I’ve stayed here for 6 full weeks in the last couple of months — overall it’s a decent long-​term hotel. The rooms are nice because they separate living space/​kitchen from the bedroom — only complaint is depending on where your room is and on what side of the building you may get stuck with no window in the living/​kitchen space so it’s SUPER DARK all the time. Depending on the room the bathroom set up may be weird as well — my first 2 weeks my room had lots of red staining on the carpet in front of the sink area — scared me a bit and so i constantly had a towel laid down. The wifi is also spotty — when we complained we were told some of the cables got jiggled loose — but i think it’s due to usage — i always found between 5PM and 7PM the wifi was non-​existent but after 7:30−8PM it was fast again The weekends were a crap shoot with the wifi.
Monday through Thursday there was alway happy hour downstairs — beer and food — which was nice! if i wasn’t looking for a full dinner, snack it was :) They also have a full hot breakfast every day too — i will say — i didn’t love the sausage links — they were always grey lol — i wish they had patties more to be able to make a breakfast sandwich :)
The only last thing to comment on was housekeeping — i would say in all 3 — 2 week stays — about half the time — when i got back to my room at 5PM my room was not done up yet — that’s ALL DAY they had — and usually they would swing by around 7 asking if i wanted service. On a couple of occasions I said no because I didn’t want to have to leave or have my room open to everyone to walk by — and the cleaning folks Thanked me cause they were exhausted — umm — maybe 1 – 2 more cleaning folks would be beneficial? that’s the reason for 1 less star.
They have laundry facilities on site — 2 washers and 2 dryers only — but i never had issues doing laundry — i strategically did it late on a Saturday night or early on a Saturday morning.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Hyatt House and it is the last. People are nice enough but the TVs don’t work and neither of the remotes do either. After waiting 30 mins for someone to come fix it, I’m going to bed. The price is pretty high this time too.

Have stayed here 4 or 5 times in last two years. Great happy hour and breakfast included in rate… happy hours can get lively and fun… the staff is super nice and the rooms are huge suite-​like. Last visit (past week for 5 days), place looked a bit worn, elevators were dirty and my room had a funky smell like stale or sour carpet. Will head over to Hilton next door for next visit, but that’s not exactly the Ritz either. Windsor needs a really great restaurant and hotel

One of the best hotel’s I’ve stayed in. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bed was perfect and the breakfast was delish! The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. The pool and hot tub were perfection. Not to mention, we got a great rate for the room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Went here on our wedding night, room was amazing, loved the turnable tv and layout of the room, definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area

I have stayed here twice. The night before my wedding, my bridal party stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and got ready there. It was an excellent choice for pre-​wedding because it had 2 bathrooms and a huge area where the hairdresser and make-​up artists could do their thing. It was great!
Last night we got hit with some inclement weather-​so instead of driving home– I got a room. Upon check-​in I was told they had a regularly scheduled social meet each night that was complimentary for guests. It had wine and draft beer, and a buffet of appetizers. They had delicious chicken noodle soup, artichoke dip, warm pretzels, deli meat and salad. Delicious.
I didn’t have a chance to use their indoor pool or fitness center, but I did get a chance to lounge in my sitting area, watch TV and pop some popcorn in my room kitchen. I slept like a rock in the bed and enjoyed their breakfast this morning. This will be my choice each time the weather makes the road home too dangerous– or if I just need a little relaxation away from home

Giving the Hyatt House a hefty four star rating based on the 3.5 hours I spent there last night. As a Hyatt Diamond member and frequent traveler, I have had the occasion to stay in half a dozen Hyatt Houses over the past few years. Some have been new builds, others have been re-​brands of competition properties, while others, like this, have been simply name changes from the former Summerfield Suites Hyatt branding. What struck me about the hotel was he spaciousness if the lobby and the room layout. Wasn’t able to be present during breakfast hours, so really can’t rate the offering there, but the room layout was a unique shotgun style with ‘wood’ floors in the foyer and kitchen areas. First I have seen of that and it is a design feature that makes it feel much more welcoming. The shotgun design actually made the room feel more private and roomy than the right angle/​central room design I am used to. Desk help was courteous and helpful, check in and check out was a breeze and I liked the quiet off-​airport (but still very close) location. Would definitely stay here agin if I needed a room at the airport.

This place was fantastic. I usually stay closer to the airport, but it was all booked. I chose the Hyatt based on the rate which was less than the airport and got a queen suite with full kitchen, separate room for watching tv and eating and a huge double queen bedroom. The staff was great, very friendly. The breakfast was less than eatable though, which is why I only gave them 4 stars. Otherwise I will return again and again. It’s the best value out there, and it maintained al the standards you’re used to if you frequent Hyatt’s.

We’ve stayed here 3 times and love it! Rooms are great, beds are comfy, best continental breakfast ever, and fantastic staff! Love this hotel!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel.
The lobby was nicely furnished, the front desk personnel were helpful and happy.
They have a small «store» adjacent to check in where you can purchase: soda, water, beer, wine, snacks galore, ice cream cookies and snickers bars, and the usual pepto, Imodium, Tylenol etc. — you can pay cash, charge or just put the purchases on your room bill.
When booking I knew it was only 1 night and figured I would splurge — what I did not think of was — this place is 27 minutes from Six Flags!
So, my hot tub time was cut short by screeching children who also decided to use the life preserving equipment as their personal pool toys. I really can’t blame kids for being kids but I really did want to smack whoever was supposed to be watching them!
I suggest Hyatt house keep the pool hours till 10 but reserve the last hour as adults only! That, would have been plenty of time to get in the relaxation I was hoping for.
Ok. The room! I booked a king studio and it was very well laid out. Even the studio has a full kitchen with toaster, mini coffee maker etc. The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and the bed comfortable. They had plenty of pillows on the bed and extra bedding in the closet if you needed to use the pull out couch.
The staff I came into contact with were all very pleasant and accommodating. The front desk found me headphones when I realized I had forgotten mine and the maintenance man (Don) was seen throughout the property attending to tasks and was always very friendly!
The breakfast — ok so they have 3 covered dishes — the morning I was here it was sausage patties (ok), scrambled eggs (skip), waffles… At first glance in their soggy state — I was going to skip the waffles — BUT that was before i saw the oven style toaster — I slapped a few on the belt and with one go round — crispy waffles again!
Yes, I am proud that I thought of that so early in the morning!
They did have plenty of other options available if you weren’t feeling so brave: bagels, white toast, wheat toast, 4 – 5 kinds of cereal, donuts, bananas, apples, cream cheese, butter, jelly, jam, peanut butter, honey, syrup… way more options than I had expected for free breakfast!
I would definitely stay here again based on the rooms and service provided alone.
But, I hope the next time I come to the Windsor area it will be the off season for Six Flags!

I love this hotel.
I have stayed at it four times now, and every time has been better than the last. The rooms are gorgeous, clean, and enormous. They have kitchens complete with dishes and cutlery, a full size fridge, and dishwasher. The free breakfast is spiffy, with hot options, cereals, fruit, yogurt, etc. The free weeknight happy hours are marvelous, with beer on tap, wine, and nibbles that can pass for dinner if a meat/​cheese sandwich, veggies/​dip, chili with cheese, and another hot dish that changes daily suits your fancy. The pool is nice, the jacuzzi is hot.
And the staff is marvelous. Friendly, helpful, goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

For the last few trips I was a Hyatt house convert. I loved the rooms. I loved the staff and friendless and the breakfast.
Yet our initial visits were tempered by recent occurrences. Last year they put us in a smaller room even though the rate allowed a bigger one (and we got that after complaining).
Now the rate is less, and no nice upgrades. Okay that is fine, the rate is what the rate is. Yet everytime I go now the internet is either broken or doesn’t extend to the bedrooms.
So without internet…no HBO GO, No Netflix.. .I couldn’t even have the Tivo download a 400meg show overnight (just wouldn’t work).
A time before I switched rooms and got internet. This time it was only two days.. but I vowed
Sorry Hyatt house, not again.
So now for my work trips I will be looking for a new hotel. Rescidence Inn looks like a nice option.

Excellent accommodations while attending a volleyball tournament in Hartford. Continental breakfast was hit or miss on the weekend, otherwise a very pleasant place to stay.

Drink all day, play all night, let’s get it bumpin’! We’re in Windsor, Trick!
Alright, I’m giving this place 5 stars — not because of the ridiculously big rooms, the free happy hour, awesome staff, great rates, complimentary shuttle bus, and hot breakfast in the mornings… but I’m giving this place 5 stars because I have a crush on Anne. She was by far the best front desk representative ever. Big eyes, warm smile, who wouldn’t sweat this girl? Best of all, she let ME pick the room I wanted to stay in, and winked at me when I walked away. How freakin’ cute is that?
I would stay here again, just so I can get checked in by Anne again.
