We are a licensed residential design/​build firm (CA lic. #C30442 & #B960042). We provide:

*Residential design services for homeowners and contractors who wish to remodel or build new homes. This includes but is not limited to space planning, building aesthetics, and material specifications.

*Drafting services for homeowners, contractors, and other design professionals. In addition to being part of the basic design services Dwelling Resources provides, this includes any drafting required for building department submittals, construction detailing, shop drawings, etc.

*Management of custom residential construction. This includes cost estimation, hiring and scheduling contractors, and ensuring project quality. This service is limited to designs created by Dwelling Resources.

*Construction services. We can build what we design, and we can build your design at a cost competitive with other licensed contractors.

History

Established in 2004.

With a degree in architecture from Cal and 18 years building high end homes and remodels for another firm in the East Bay, I relocated to Sonoma county and dared to start my own firm. Originally concentrating on residential design services, I decided in 2010 to include construction services in order to ensure the integrity of my designs and guarantee the quality of construction that I demand but don’t see often from other contractors.

Business Owner

William Jones, AIA, Principal and Owner of Dwelling Resources, has a degree in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as a twenty five year background in construction, eighteen of which have been involved with the design and construction of mid-​to-​high-​end custom residences and remodels in the greater San Francisco Bay area. His range of experience includes everything from conceptual design to construction quality control. His time as a framer, finish carpenter, and job foreman has given him a breadth of building knowledge that adds value to his design skills.

William is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a Certified Green Building Professional. He is a State of California licensed Architect, license #C30442, and a California licensed and bonded Contractor, license #960 042.
