At Your Door

I cannot recommend At Your Door, which is sad because they used to be a good company to work with.
Two years ago, I could call and get a pleasant voice on the other end of the phone. Or a call back within a few hours.
Now: They are only open a few days per week –and the days change so you never know when they are open. I can’t get a return phone call or response to an e-​mail. My billing has been incorrect more than once.
Working with this company is a lesson in frustration. Honestly, I don’t know how they are still in business.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY —4 months ago I posted a complaint about using a groupon coupon to get my house cleaned. After AT YOUR DOOR left I had bleach stains on my carpeting outside both of my bathrooms. Victoria promised to stand by their work and fix the damage caused. They sent out guys who were carpet experts and would redye the carpet stains. That didn’t work so they said they would patch the carpet or replace the damaged sections. Well, I guess they decided it wasn’t important enough after all to stand by their work/​word. I am unable to get them to respond to any emails or calls. Not only did they ruin my carpets but wasted my time with lies about repairing the damage. Really sad, I wanted to believe they would do the right thing…

The same thing that I’ve read in the other reviews was my experience — the cleaning was fine but they are so flaky in their scheduling.
For the past 3 months I’ve scheduled regular cleanings and the time of day they show up is so random. They answer email and voicemail maybe once or twice a week so it’s difficult to coordinate with them.
I have to leave work and wait around for them. They don’t show up when they say they’re going to. When you ask where they are they say they came and nobody was home. Completely unreliable and bad way to do business. I’m moving on even if it means paying a little more. They’re just not professional.

Update: They called me almost as soon as I posted my last review. I felt like they TRIED to kiss my behind after I posted but they never actually referenced it.
The appointment was made in record time compared to what they had originally said the wait would be. They came to my house just one week after.
When it came time for my appointment they called 15 minutes prior and said they were ahead of schedule and would arrive at any minute. So, I rushed home from work to let them in. They didn’t show up early at all, but a few minutes late. I actually called because I wondered what on Earth happened since they said they would be early (and I had arranged my schedule to make this work).
When they showed one employee (there were two) introduced themselves and walked right in to place their cleanings items on my fabric couch. I felt uneasy by them but had no real reason (other than WHO places cleaning chemicals ON the couch, especially at someone else’s house?).
I left during my cleaning, but stopped back in repeatedly as I just really felt really uncomfortable by them in my home. When I came back the first time one worker was upstairs with NO cleaning products or tools. Seemed very odd. The other was working hard downstairs. The upstairs worker was not wearing shoes. They had been (what I would assume was) kicked off downstairs or dropped from above. They were literally five feet apart, one on it’s side. There was a PILE of wet towels on my white carpets. :/​
My bathrooms were cleaned decently. But, I questioned the vacuuming. They emptied all of my garbages. And, they did NOT dust at ALL in three hours between two workers. My kitchen was cleaned well to start but one worker did wipe my kitchen down while I was nearby. This worker was very slow and I wondered how this person was hired by the combination of what I had seen. I felt very awkward as said individual complimented my appliances and very weakly wiped an already very clean counter slowly.
Overall, I will NEVER be using this company again. I am nervous wondering if they are just new to this industry, unaware, or scammers. I left with a bad feeling. I wouldn’t ask them to make it up, or for my money back. But, I learned a huge lesson. I prefer to stick with those I trust and know and word of mouth. They will not have my (good) word of mouth for sure.

Highly recommend handyman services! Quick, timely, friendly and skilled. Joel took care of our fan installations in a very skilled, neat and tidy manner. Great work ethics!

Very honest and hardworking family business. I have used both their handyman and cleaning services and am extremely satisfied with their services. They are fair and thorough and if you are not satisfied, they will do whatever is necessary to make sure you are. I would highly recommend using this company.

Wow! What a great house cleaning company! So very happy with the job they did.

Very reliable and friendly. We had them clean our gutters and they did it flawlessly and cleaned up after they left. We didn’t even know they were there. I would absolutely use them again and will! Good people earn my business.

I’ve been singing the praises of At Your Door to friends since using their services in January. They were on time, diligent and obviously trustworthy. They worked hard! Our gutters hadn’t been cleaned in several years and Joel and his crew went the extra mile and were committed to getting the job done well and completely. I’ll definitely use their services again as our new homeowner budget will allow.

We have used all aspects of At Your Door’s services from having them rip out our old yard, design and install our new yard for which Lydia did the design and Joel the installation including upgrading our lighting and turning some bronzes we had into deck railings and water features. Joel currently does the weekly maintenance and Lydia continues to keep an eye on the design adding color as needed.
Lydia manages the inside of the house providing weekly cleaning services and occasional deep cleaning.
Joel has hung artwork, including some quite large pieces. He has done all sorts of handyman stuff including fixing a broken stereo cabinet door, fixing a leaking toilet, moving boxes into the attic, power washing the house, cleaning gutters, and fixing our ancient house’s dragging door hinges. We just keep a running list and he gets it done.
I have no hesitation recommending Joel and Lydia for pretty much anything. We feel very lucky to have found them.
