Espresso Bar and Cafe

As a full time grad student, I’m always looking for a place to do some homework. The Espresso Bar has free wifi and tasty coffee with $ 1 refills, which is nice. I took off a star for the atmosphere… They have some cute décor and a little shopping section, but somehow the building just feels a bit like a hotel lobby. Overall, I will be back.

Love this little coffee shop on the Old Town Mall. Lanita and her staff are all wonderful. They keep sugar free chocolate sauce on hand just for me because long ago I mentioned that I really wished there was a chocolate option because I can’t have the fully-​leaded version of the syrups. Free wi-​fi, comfortable seating options, home-​made soups, baked goods (regular and gluten free). The breakfast croissant sandwiches are good too, and they have a front and back patio for those seasons when you want to sit outside.

Wonderful coffee, service and they get the fifth star for the «secret garden» in the back.

Located along the pedestrian area of Old Town Winchester, this is a great place to have an excellent cup of coffee and have a short respite. The latte was delicious and the décor attractive!

Had a casual business meeting here last week (sitting outside), and just loved the laid back and friendly atmosphere. Very friendly staff, good drink and decadent treats. I will be coming back!

If you want authentic Italian cappuccino, THIS is the place!!! Amazing ambiance and amazing coffee!

I ordered a soy cappuccino and I was disappointed. The foam was not creamy or smooth. It was very bubbly and I can tell that it was poorly steamed. The taste was also disappointing. It was watery and bland, lacking any coffee taste.

I was highly recommended to visit this café as I love coffee. I’m so glad I listened! The café has a pleasant atmosphere with more than enough seating. Although, I will give you advice… make sure you read the door to Push! I watched too many people almost leave because they continued to pull the door and it wouldn’t open. Otherwise, this is a great café with a nice little location on the walking mall.

Terrific breakfast sandwiches this morning. Baked ham and cheddar on fluffy egg whites, tucked into a delicious croissant. Very good coffee too. Had the house blend and the pressed Brazil.
Beautiful spot to sit outside on the walking mall and enjoy the gorgeous weather. We will be back :-)

Good local coffee shop.
The employees/​owners are super welcoming and the espresso is solid. Both the cappuccino and their «coffee stout» were good, although the latter is a rather creamy and sweet concoction, not something I would normally order, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
The cranberry muffin was pretty average and warmed in a microwave. Go for the coffee and not the muffins.

The coffee here is sour and acidic but the brownie and blondie were tasty and the service was kind.

Needed some liquid crack late Saturday afternoon while in the Winchester area — was specifically looking for small local coffee shops (no Starbucks). Came across this place on Unilocal and navigated my way over.
The place is set in a walking street (no cars) — so you’ll need to find a place to park and then walk.
The inside of the place is cool and inviting. Would be a nice place to get out of the house for a while and work.
Ordered a large iced coffee — with room for cream. Beverage was strong and tasty and hit the spot.
They have free WiFi. The folks working here were very nice!

Great staff and service! Good spot for an espresso. We had a soup as well which was excellent. Great old photos of Winchester and it’s all conveniently located in the mall walkplatz area.

I’m not much into coffee, but I love visiting this shop. I came in with my fiancée, daughter and mother while we were out, and had a cup. Calm atmosphere and good coffee, what more could I want?
I usually just stick with a regular cup. But I bought a Macchiato and the friendly staff made sure I knew I was getting a genuine Macchiato, not sugar milk water that most would expect. I appreciated the heads up and enjoyed my drink.
My Fiancée is in love with their chai lattes and always gets one or two when we visit.
A great shop, well worth a visit!

This is my go-​to spot for working on school projects when I’m in town. As other reviewers have said, the atmosphere is mellow, the lighting is perfectly dim for my taste. There are adequate outlets for plugging in your laptop and enough seating to hang out for hours without feeling like you’re taking up too much space.
I do have a pretty significant complaint about the Internet connectivity. It’s pretty terrible. So terrible, that I will try another coffee shop down the street the next time I’m in town and in need of a wi-​fi equipped work space. They stream music on their already slow wi-​fi connection, causing it to lag even more. It often makes doing research and browsing websites impossible. You can hear the music blip or stop altogether, which further displays the slow connectivity.
If you’re coming here to socialize with friends, grab a spiced chai with almond milk, or play a game of chess — it’s perfect. If connectivity is your priority, I suggest going elsewhere.

I really like the french press here as well as the lattes. It always tastes great when I come in. Its a really nice place, very roomy and relaxing. There are a lot chairs and tables that are spaced out. The walls are covered in artwork that you can purchase (well if you like investing in artwork haha). Everything is clean including the restroom. I’m giving 4 stars just because the owner isn’t very friendly. It seems almost as if she doesn’t want you there. Besides the customer service, this is a great little café for studying or just relaxing with a cup of coffee.
UPDATE ⁴⁄₂₁: Staff has been A LOT nicer lately including the owner! I actually feel welcome going in to Espresso Bar now which makes me so happy because I love the coffee here!

This place has great potential. There’s space enough for a super cool coffee bar/​upstairs/​lounge. However, whoever renovated this place, made a really big bottle neck for people trying to go to the back lounge area. It’s kind of an awkward layout.
The coffee was good. Strong and fresh tasting. My friend ordered a decaf and they simply put a shot in a cup of hot water (Americano) and it came out tasting super weak.
This place is A-​ok, but has potential to be a super rad coffee bar.

I really liked the interior. but the lattes weren’t the best. Maybe I’m spoiled by all the chains here in Nova.
I did have fun sipping my (average) latte and playing chess with my boyfriend on one of the tables. Got beat pretty badly, too.
