LOBELOVELOVE this place!!! We always make a special stop here anytime we are in town from Raleigh. Get the croissants! They are melt-in-your-mouth delicious!!! Their burgers are great too, and their house made chili. They also have amazing salads and all house made dressings. Today I found out that they have TWO outdoor seating areas, one for smokers and one for non smokers. How genius is that??? I love eating outside but can’t stand to smell cigarette smoke. Wish they had Rucker John’s in Raleigh!

One might not think that a restaurant located on a frontage road would be terrific. Well, think again. I met a gaggle of gals at Ruckerjohn’s for dinner and jazz. They were ready for us with long tables positioned together, but our group was so big, some of us sat at the bar. I was delighted to see that I could design a veggie plate with three selections for only six dollars! I got the spicy black beans, steamed veggies(zucchini and yellow squash), plus a loaded baked potato(I requested no bacon). The food was so good! The jazz trio added much to the atmosphere. They were a smidge too loud to have audible conversation, but the music was festive and enjoyable. Also, half priced bottles of wine were on the menu. So, don’t let the location make you overlook this gem. Get yourself to Ruckerjohn’s!

food was mediocre. felt very out of place here. we had our 15 month old with us and everyone looked at us like we were disturbing them.(and he was being very well behaved, just a lot of baby chatter) my son dropped his cup, so i went to wash it off and some waitress looked at me disgusted like«why are you doing that.» needless to say I won’t be returning.

Went Christmas Eve Eve with my friend and our daughters. We usually love the house salads and croissants. This time the buns they sent out were small and stale. Salads were acid tasting and the tomatoes were old and funny tasting. Service was not great. This restaurant has been slowly declining for a while. Used to go all the time. Not any more.

I’ve been a customer for over a decade and still have yet to find anyone with better fried mushrooms than Rucker John’s. To die for

I have only been to Rucker John’s one other time and that was 10 years ago. I didn’t remember it being anything special but I was in the area last night and I always hear people say how good the food is so I thought I would give it a try. I had the fried mushroom appetizer and a 007 cocktail to start. Both were delicious and the highlight of my dinner. I chose the catch of the day for my entrée, which was mahi mahi, and I chose the mac n cheese and side salad as accoutrements. The salad came first and was accompanied by a honey croissant. The salad was underwhelming and the croissant was cold and therefore the honey didn’t melt. When my entrée came the fish was served with a ramekin of melted butter which is the last thing I would ever expect to see. The mahi was flavorless and the mac n cheese was dry and flavorless as well. I might stop in again for drinks and an appetizer but that will be all.

Start with fresh croissants, drizzled with honey and orange dipping sauce. I always have the crab dip with pita chips appetizer as my meal. My husband has the crab cakes. Rave-worthy.

If you are like me, I get tired of eating seafood while on vacation. RuckerJohn’s is my escape from that. They have the best ribeye I have ever had. And don’t get me started on the croissants. They are sinful they are so good.

One of my family’s favorite go to places in Wilmington. I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like. My husband loves the Blackjack steak. My favorites are the crab dip and the chicken tenders. The breading on the chicken tenders is amazing!

I must say, everytime I have eaten here the food has been fresh and delicious! One thing I can’t figure out is attire? From the outside it looks like a typical chain restaurant and on the inside it is not by any means fancy looking but I notice each time I go in and look around people tend to be a little bit dressed up? Hmmm…

Went there again with the family and honestly so much better then the first time I went. If you are a steak lover then this is a must! It’s seriously the best steak I ever had and they cook it exactly as you ask. The price is pretty high but it’s so worth it. The birthday dessert is so good too. Just go and try the food and stop reading this review! It’s totally worth it! :)

Do I have to say more than ranch dressing? How about croissants? This place is the best. Feel at home when eating here. Try it if you’re in town. We love RJs, it’s a tradition!

Waited 45 minutes for a takeout order. I double checked the bag and had the wrong items. And the prime rib au jus in the bag(not my order) leaked in the bag and stained my pants. Food is good here — but they don’t know how to hustle when in the weeds. I did get an apology and a free entrée card from the manager.

We had a party of nine at the last minute on Valentine’s Day. They were able to accommodate the entire group. Macy had the patience of a saint and was a terrific waitress. The food was delicious! We started with some appetizers then when dinner came we were only disappointed by the Mac and Cheese. Don’t get the Mac and Cheese… It’s what you could buy at the grocery store. The seared tuna and steak sandwich are excellent choices!
