Born and raised in Ukraine, Val Bondar first developed culinary skills running his own pierogi stand in the early 80s. It was in Chicago, however – that he honed his cooking skills, serving as an assistant Chef at Mather Foundation of Wilmette. Val has always dreamed of opening his own pizzeria and in 1996 his dream came true. With the help of Val’s family, JP’s Pizza & Grill was born. Now, 20 years later, a staple on Chicago’s North Shore, Val and his family own and operate JP’s, serving the finest quality, thin-crust gourmet pizza, salads and various other authentic Italian favorites.
