Very nice and helpful staff all-in-all. The location is nearby King’s College and it’s a wonderful walk away, especially when the weather is agreeable – it’s Fall as I write this review. Awesome music played over the sound system; none of the crap that comes over the radio. The Starbucks café within the store is roomy that you can get some studying done.

I normally do most of my book shopping online because of the bigger selection and lower prices, but there are times I stop in Barnes & Noble to browse or sample desserts from the café. Unlike other locations, it doubles as a college bookstore for Wilkes University and King’s College. I’m disappointed by the lack of a film or music section as other Barnes & Noble locations are a great place to find art house DVDs and Blu-rays. This location does host many events, including open-mics and poetry readings. They also stock a number of books by local authors and take an involved role in the community art scene.

Not a terribly bad place to use your laptop and have a strong cup of Starbucks, but the cafeteria feel really wasn’t my vibe, and there were no outlets to plug into. There was also crazy man walking around disrupting customers and playing with the lights, and he wasn’t thrown out only warned. He then sat down and ranted to a young guy for about 30 minutes about his time in the institution. I could not believe.

This is review is for the Café only: I frequent this bookstore and the last few times I have been there to grab a drink or a snack the service has been pretty poor. On one occasion, I was standing at the counter with an iced tea and, even though the clerk acknowledged me, she didn’t ring up my purchase — she, another clerk, and an older woman(presumably her manager) were too busy finishing their conversation to allow me the pleasure of paying for my drink. It was really rather rude — I was the only one in line, and I was just standing there, staring blankly at them. When they finished their conversation a minute or two later, it took the clerk all of three seconds to ring it up and for me to pay. I don’t know why my patronage was so inconvenient! The bookstore itself is great, though.
