Absolutely the worst dermatologist I have ever seen !!! Rushes out of the room. Doesn’t read charts, ask you the patient how to do his job ! Unprofessionalism is at an all time high with this doctor. I gave one star because I have to give a rating ! Or else I would put zero !

Love this place … The doctor was extremely nice and listens to your concerns. Staff is very friendly as well. I always leave feeling like there’s hope for my skin issues.

I have seen my fair share of doctors over the last 20 years, and I will say that my recent experience with Dr. King has been the worst. I waited over an hour to 1^st be seen by a P.A. and then another woman. They apologized for the doctor running late and stated that he was «in between procedures.» I continued to wait. Finally, Dr. King came into the room, did not greet me, being that I was a first-​time patient of his, spent about 10 seconds with me, and left the room while muttering, «Maybe Mania can figure out what’s going on.» He did not even give me a chance to explain another issue I wanted to address. I waited for another 5 minutes in an empty room, all the while, wondering if that was my appointment or not. By this time my frustration level was maxed. I grabbed my purse and went to the reception area where I asked the receptionist if that was my appointment. She kindly took me back to my exam room and told me she would get somebody. The «other woman» came back in with the doctor following behind. I explained that I had another issue that I wanted to discuss. I got the sense that he now felt «obligated» to play nice and play doctor because I was obviously upset. Dr. King instructed me to make sure to wear sunscreen, wear hats, and use umbrellas because my skin is fair since I have blue eyes. MY EYES ARE BROWN!!! I have never felt so dismissed by a doctor, EVER! I will never return to this office or refer a patient. The office staff was extremely nice, and I have come to the conclusion that they probably are in order to make up for the lack of professionalism by the doctor.

My son was referred to this office by his pediatrician. I paid a $ 40 co-​pay and saw Dr. King along with my young son for less then a minute. He mumbled and then left the room in a hurry. I was not impressed by his bedside manner. The PA was nice but needless to say, we won’t be returning to this office. When I questioned how much a procedure was going to cost me or my insurance co-​pay the office staff was rude to answer me. Very unprofessional. Felt like I was at the Circus!

This has to be the «WORST» doctors office I have ever dealt with. Their staff are extremely hostile and rude. You most likely won’t get to see a doctor but rather a nurse practitioner. Not to mention the wait is horrendous. When we received a prescription it was completely illegible. I called them to clarify what the heck it was and had to wait almost two hours for them to return to lunch. When I finally spoke to the receptionist asking her to clarify the prescription, she placed me on hold 15 minutes. The woman who retrieved the records was perturbed that I asked her for this information and practically scolded me for bothering her. Needless to say the writing on the prescription was not even remotely similar to what the actual name of the prescription. What a ship of fools this office is. I too might add, their billing is always, always wrong. They will over charge you every time. Stay away from this witches den or you will be sorry.

I have been a patient of Dr. King’s for over 20 years; I have had five MOHS surgeries with him. At one time, I felt like I got good care here. However, I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with this practice for the reasons others have mentioned. I recently tried to make an appointment. The receptionist told me that they only have «two days this week» which are pretty full, and the following week. She could not book the next week. Evidently, he only gives them his open days couple of weeks at a time. When I tried to book one of the «two days», she told me that they were booked – 51 appts one day and 53 the next! EEK! Are you kidding me? No wonder it feels like an assembly line. There is so much information available to us as consumers (patients), there is no reason to stay with an unsatisfactory practice, so I will be leaving this one.

I office was very nice and clean. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 mins before being called back to office. I first saw the nurse prac, she was very nice but we should get a second opinion for the Dr. So I wanted about 10 more mins and Dr came in. He was very nice and gentle soft spoken man. I told him what I was going through and he gave me a few different options. They both took about 30 mins just to talk to me and understand my needs. Love this office. The lady answering is very nice too!!! Will be going back in 3 months. Thanks Dr King!

Here’s an update on the crooks in Dr. King’s ofc and «Preferred» Dermatology. After they agreed to lower the invoice to what should have been the correct amount, they sent my debt to a collection agency where it’s been sitting for at least 6 months. I have not heard from the debt collectors, only by chance of reviewing my credit report did I know this happened. They are liars!!!

i had gone to dr. king just while back and i had known him when I lived in whittier, since I had a rash on my left side of my check and it was getting worse, I went to see him and yes I was irk of how long you had to wait and I told them i only wanted to have him look at it, then I was called and sat in the room waiting again and to my amazement a trainee came in and i ask I wanted dr. king and they said oh! his not in and I was furious so since I was already there I had them take care of it… It was a bunch of bull shit. I have not gone back to him since and found another dermatologist in orange county. Before his doctor practice expanded like it is now, he was more personable but I guess when you an almighty he does not even have to be concern about his patience or new ones…

I LOVE Dr. King! So personable, and knows his stuff. He is really funny. I had a weird callous on my knuckle, and it took him 2 seconds to diagnose. With his treatment, my skin was completely healed within a week. Amazing! Thanks, Don! :)

His office staff my be a little slow, but seeing Dr. King is well worth it. I have been going to him for 20 years. He is good at his job. He can look at your skin for a second or even maybe 2 and know what is wrong with it and how to fix it. He may not be very social but he know is skin! He wants you to have clear skin that you are happy with. I would recommend him to any one who needs help.

Ugh. I hate this place.
This dermatology practice has grown over the past 10 years. It used to be housed in one building, and now there are 3! Good luck trying to figure out which one your appointment is in!
Back in high school, I developed this weird rash. I’d randomly get a deepy red rash on one side of my face. It didn’t itch, burn, nothing. It looked like someone slapped my face really hard. Sometimes I’d wake up and it would already be there, and would stick around for hours. Other times it would appear in the middle of the day. This was the strangest thing, so I went to seek Dr. King’s advice.
And guess what he told me?
He laughed and said, «You must get embarrassed easily.»
That was it. Oh, REALLY, Dr. King? That’s your professional advice? I just wake up and I get so embarrassed with myself that I get a red rash on one side of my face? Thanks a lot! ARG. Over time, the rash went away, but I had to deal with people asking me if my parents beat me b/​c of the red mark on my face.

I have eczema that can get pretty bad depending on the weather, so I often need to use medicine for it. Dr. King was my dermatologist for about a decade. Or maybe I should say he was supposedly my dermatologist for a decade.
I’ve been to this office many times, so I’ll describe your experience with it should you choose not to follow my advice and STAY AWAY.
First, you’ll call the phone number. After being put on hold, you’ll have to listen to different advertisements for facial peels, laser hair removal, Botox, etc. These advertisements do not end.
Next, a receptionist will talk to you for as short a time as possible in order to make an appointment.
When you arrive at Dr. King’s office on time, you’ll probably watch annoying daytime TV while waiting for your name to be called. You’ll wait and wait and wait.
Finally, your name will be called, and a nurse or receptionist or other non-​doctor will ask you what has been bothering you. She’ll look concerned as she asks specific questions, and then she’ll leave and tell you Dr. King will be right with you.
You’ll wait and wait and wait and wait.
Then you’ll wait some more.
Dr. King will come in, look in the direction of the affected part of your body, and begin writing a prescription. When you ask him questions about your condition, he’ll mumble something and try to leave. When you stop him, he’ll look flustered.
Eventually, the nurse will return and hand you a pharmaceutical sample. She’ll take you to the scheduling person, who will schedule your next appointment.
Dr. King doesn’t really do anything. His nurses do all the work.
I finally went to a different dermatologist because I realized that not all doctors are this bad. (I was a teenager when I started seeing Dr. King.)
