George R Perri, DDS

I would have given a full five stars due to the EXCELLENT dentists and hygienists on staff, except for one of the front desk staff, Carolyn (more on her in a bit).
**Pros:
Dr. George Perri is a phenomenal dentist, very professional, friendly and conservative on his approach to dental work; he’s not a salesman (which is fantastic), so he won’t sell you something you don’t need. Dr. George Perri knows his trade and is EXCELLENT at it. He has gentle hands and is fast and efficient at his trade, too.
Kim, Pam, & Jerome (dental hygienists) are also great. They are very detailed and good at what they do, from teeth cleaning, to x-​rays and «bed-​side» manner, if you will.
Hilda & Flor: receptionists/​billers/​appointment setters: wonderful, helpful, and approachable!
A very clean and modern office.
**Con:
Carolyn, the older, front desk biller/​office staff, or whatever her title is, is the lack of the 5^th star. (she claimed to be the office manager, SHE’s NOT).
–Unfortunately, FOUR stars are given instead of five. She is rude in a «condescending polite» voice. Carolyn comes across with the attitude of «I will help you, IF I like you…» I have asked (on multiple occasions) for predetermination estimates of work to be done on my daughters teeth, and instead sends me a copy of a pre-​determination from 2 years ago, with her highlighting changes (made by her, not from the insurance company) and crossing out info, with her added changes? UNPROFESSIONAL. She even had the audacity to leave a voicemail on my cell phone telling me that SHE FELT it was a waste of time to request it from the insurance company, and hence did not do it. I only found out because I had been waiting for it in the mail for over 3 weeks.
Every time I’ve spoken with her on the phone, Carolyn is persistently argumentative and makes it a point to be right.
Note: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my dentist, but I C-​R-​I-​N-​G-​E (fetal position) every time I have to speak/​interact with Carolyn.
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Perri to anyone… but I would avoid Carolyn like the plague. The other front desk gals are professional, approachable, AND helpful! :)

Exceptional Dentist! Exceptional Staff! I take my 88 year old mother in-​law to see Doctor Perri, whom she’s been seeing for the past 20 years or so. She just loves him!
She just got a new set of dentures and he was the best at fitting them and ever so patient making sure they were just perfect.

Best dentist EVER! All of my family members now go here — my grandmother, sister, parents, husband, kids, and even some friends. He is always honest — told my friend that her son’s cavity did not need filling after the previous dentist was going to put him under to fill it. Told my mom that her gold onlays and inlays were done properly and there was no reason to remove them, after the last very esteemed prosthodontist wanted to replace all of them. He is not about $ in his pocket and excess pain for the patient. He is about honesty, integrity, very meticulous and careful dentistry, and the best labs and professional contacts around. He came very highly recommended from a famous endodontist and once I came to him, I never looked back. I drive 30 miles to get to him. Totally worth it. He is kind, patient, gentle, yet thorough and so knowledgeable. You really can’t get a better dentist.

I have been going to this dentist for ½ of my life. He is the best! I live in Orange County now, but drive to LA to see him.
Going to the dentist can be a little nerve racking, but I actually look forward to it with him. He is competent and caring, and his office is comfortable with friendly staff to greet you.
Just to give some examples: He has stayed after office hours to take care of me when I had a toothache. He felt bad when I tolerated a toothache for a few days while waiting to get in to see him and told me, next time, to ask the office staff to contact him personally if I am hurting. He has always been really good with pain management and watches my reactions closely offering more pain medication if he sees the slightest indication of discomfort. (I have never needed any extra medicaiton, but it’s nice to know he is watching and offering.) He always explains everything he does in terms that I can understand and never talks down to me or acts like taking the time to answer questions is a bother. He seems to know that tooth problems can be stressful, and is calm and reassuring. He has never been overly aggressive and will keep an eye on things he sees on x-​rays rather than drilling when there may not be a problem. He is sensitive to concerns about cost and will discuss treatment options and has worked with me on payment. When he does work, he is extremely skillful and gives me plenty of breaks to rest my jaw, swallow, or speak. And, this is important since we are talking about a doctor who may be close to you while working, he never has bad breath :-)
I tell every one I know about him. One of my friends went to see him for the first time last year and said he felt like it was the first time he had been to a real dentist. Now, he won’t see anyone else either. I hope this dentist never retires!
