Fabulous Cakes & Frosting Supplies

I am not to normally one to leave bad reviews but, I have been to this place a few times now since I run a local catering business. Every single time I’ve been here I have told myself NOT to give my business to this place but somehow end up giving it another try. However I will not be back to Fabulous Cakes and Frosting Supplies. Customer service is horrible, rude, and very unenthusiastic. I would much rather give my business to a more appreciative, helpful and friendly type of place and this is NOT it. I will let my friends and family know not to give their business to this place, there are far more better options in town.

Two starts for location and supplies, but like others have said, the customer service is pretty crummy. Employee was on the phone and annoyed that we wanted to check out and give them our money apparently because she placed her call on speaker and checked us out with a sour face. Short answers and rushed us out, and that was it. This is all too bad because I love supporting our local businesses, even if they can’t compete with the selection and prices of the big box stores down the street. But in this case I’ll take my business to Michaels down the road or Baker’s Bodega across town where it doesn’t feel like a trip to the DMV.

I come here often to pick up cake boards mainly. They offer all the items you need for baking and so many options.
The cake boards are already assembled with the colors which I love so I don’t have to do it. They do it do much nicer than me. They have tons of cupcake toppers and liners. They sell the tools for cakes and fondant. It is a little more pricey than Michael’s, however, Michaels doesn’t sell all the items you need. They have the high ratio shortening.
They have the cutters too for fondant. They charge a fee for using card so I always try to pay cash. That would be a downfall here. It’s always nice and cool in here too. Customer service at first was not very good to me, but I have received good service now so I can’t complain.
I will continue to come here since it’s so convenient.

Have been there a few times now as i found it was closer than my usual supply store, Party Décor. Every time I’ve gone in the girl working seems to be in a bad mood and can’t even say thank you at the end of the transaction. Well yesterday was my last time I’m stepping foot into that place. As i walk in to get some supplies, I’m automatically greeted with «are you going to be quick cause we’re closing right now?». This was only 2pm. I could barely find what i was looking for as the lights were being turned off on me. Another girl came walking in soon after only to be kicked out due to them closing. To the stupid women who run this place, wake up! We’re supporting YOUR business. You should know to be polite to your customers as we’re the reason you stay open. You’ve lost another customer here. Leave your moodiness at home. Customers are not dumb, they know when they’re not given good customer service. I’ll just continue to drive out a little further to Party Décor in la habra where the women there are always helpful and greet you with a smile.

Great place, great selection, unbeatable prices and amazingly friendly staff.
I came in to find oil flavors for my homemade vape juice and I am so glad I did. They had what I was looking for but now I want to come back and get some baking supplies. Loved it here.

I love this place!.. Anything you could possibly need for baking is here.
There are so many choices and a good supply of everything.
The main thing I go here for is for cupcakes. I love to bake and package cupcakes for friends and clients, and I am able to get colors, flavorings, toppings and packaging here, at a fraction of the cost of what I would pay at Michaels or bakery supply shops.
They also are bakers themselves’ so can give you tips and advice on whatever you need. :)

This place is great! I have discovered it a few months back and i come here for every cake need. I have never experienced problems here. The owner (i forgot her name, oops) is always so nice and she has always helped me in every way. The prices are great and she always has a nice little chat with me. I would definitely refer anyone here!

I was in their store today and had a very good experience with customer service! I was helped several times and shown different items that I might be intreated in. They have a huge supply if things to make cupcakes, chocolate molds, cakes, cake pops, etc. They also offer a huge supply of items to use with fondant/​gum paste. I found things that in this store that you can usually only order online. They also have a huge selection of cake boards and different colors as well. I found a new cake shop!

I agree, customer service isnt a priority here. When we go in with our kids they give us soo much trouble and try to force us out every time. They do have great supplies but come on now, wheres the service. If I had a better store by home trust me I would not be coming here.

Great local baking supply shop. Not sure what others have experienced but personally the staff was friendly & helpful. Will definitely be coming back.

First time here, I really liked the place. They had what I needed, I’m no Baker I just do stuff on the side for friends and family so the lady explains a lot to me. Good customer service and good prices compared to other places I’ve been to like Michaels, Joanns, and local Baking supply stores. I will definitely come back and recommended this spots.

love, Love, LOVE this place!!! always has exactly what I’m looking for (including my sometimes strange needs– like edible gold glitter). I drive from walnut just because of their selection of supplies. If they don’t have it you won’t find it at ANY other shop either, aside from ordering online.
True– customer service isn’t Macy’s perfume counter caliber, but what do you expect from a mom n pop store that usually has just 1 or 2 people working? ask and you shall receive! ANYTIME I’ve ever needed assistance I just ask and they always go above and beyond with options/​ideas.

Was here yesterday and they always have full stock of candy melts and sticks bags cupcake liners were on sale for 3 days great prices

I love this place. Always good for last minute supplies. Their candy melts are my favorite and they have a good selection of colors, k sprinkles, candy molds. I love coming here. Never had a problem with customer service.

I have been coming to this store for about 1.5 years. True it’s not the best at customer service. Not even a simple greeting let alone asking if you need any assistance (and I’m referring to the entire staff) (–1 star). The store is nicely laid out, a good selection of candy molds, sprinkles, cupcake cups, and cake toppers. DO NOT purchase their edible images they are so dried up they don’t even lift from the paper, and THIS is right after purchasing! It has happened to me various times and I’ve finally learned my lesson.
They have a back room where once in a while they offer classes (cupcake, cookie, etc). Unfortunately, they do not have a website but they do constantly update their Facebook with new products and upcoming classes.
During my last visit a few days ago I purchased TWO items when I took a look at the receipt when I was driving out of the lot I noticed they charged me for three items! I called right away but they had closed. I warned my friend who was planning on checking out the store for the first time over the weekend. Thank goodness I did! They tried charging her $ 5 for a $ 3.40 item. (–2 stars). To make matters worse she came from 20 miles away to check out this store! This makes me believe I’ve probably been overcharged this entire time!
ADVICE: CHECK HOW MUCH YOU ARE BEING CHARGED!!! Come on staff I know business it tough but don’t cheat your customers! I’m a strong believer in supporting small business but not one that cheats their customers.
They do charge a service charge if you pay by card.
Call before going as their hours are inconsistent.
Small parking lot can be a problem when the businesses next door are busy.

I love this place. Everything is nicely spread out and the people are always asking if I need help finding anything. This is my go-​to store when I need last minute supplies!
Also… SO.MANY.SPRINKLES!

I have read the other reviews. Like most places we all have our own opinions. As for myself I do shop here quite often. I usually find everything I need. They are a bit on the expensive side on some products but in general decent. The older lady with glasses is usually friendly and helpful. For the most part I walk in and get what I am looking for. If i need something i will ask. In general I really have not had a problem but I do agree that customer service can be boosted up a bit. I will continue to shop here and I have recommended my fellow bakers here …

If I could give a total of zero stars, I would rate it as that. Went in twice and the first time no one even came up to assist me, even though they could see me waiting at the counter…
Second time I went in and the same thing, zero customer service… but this time I went up to the employees and received a response of «what do you want?»… REALLY… What I really wanted to say was get up off your fat asses and try using a little customer service! Instead I asked for what was needed and received two swift «No’s» to my requests.
I will NEVER buy anything from this place and I will tell people NOT TO COME HERE!

Both mother and daughter lack customer skills. You never know what sort of mood their in. I sometimes wonder how this store stays in business. Store has useful supplies although not always stocked.
I recommend they take a «people skills» professional development seminar.

I swore never to come back but i had to their selection on cake items is great customer service was waaaay better and they were very helpful this time! I will becoming back very often now :)
