Earl was a Folksy businessman who won fame for his TV commercials offering rock-bottom prices and we still will beat anybody’s estimate. Earl seized on the power of advertising to attract customers, expanding this business from a single shop that he opened in 1937 to 330 stores across 40 states and Canada. Tom Thomson, Collision and Fleet service Mgr. said that When Earl first opened, the police showed up because so many people wanted their cars painted that it was creating a traffic problem. To date the Scheib shops have painted more than 50 million cars. Earl was always very truthful about what he was selling, and that came thru in his TV Commercials.
