Stay away from this place! The service is terrible. That FRANK server should be FIRED! HEWASSORUDE and kept forgetting our drinks when it was not even a busy day. I tried giving this place a chance and of course the next few times I have gone, we got that FRANK server again and he just sucked each time. I even observed his serving skills with other tables and I noticed the customers were getting annoyed with his shitty attitude and bad skills. You guys lost a customer and I will spread the word around to stay away from this location and most likely call corporate myself since he tried to trick us with the bill to gain more out of it. So shady. F that guy and this place.

We went about 7:30 pm, on a Saturday before Father’s day, so we knew we’d be waiting. They offered us a 15 min wait, but we noticed an empty bar and sat there. After about 10 mins, a friendly waitress took our order. I had the $ 10 special bbq sandwich with mashed potatoes and a salad and he had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and garlic bread. It took about 15 minutes. I used a very clean bathroom while waiting. My sandwich was a bit dry, but good. His chicken fried steak was good, but very crispy, almost two crispy. We agreed that the mashed potatoes and gravy were the best part(I’m not usually a gravy person). We only had our drinks refilled once and the garlic bread sucked. We were sort of satisfied, but not enough to go back. We’ve both been a few times a while back, but I suppose the quality has gone down a bit.

Wow, the place is a throwback tongue 80’s and that includes the people. Not sounding mean, is actually a cool thing. Place and waiters have a lot of character. Food was really good as it reminded me a lot of the old Love’s restaurant. Ribs were very good and the beans were yummy. The sides and the pulled pork were very good. Would definitely come back. The waiter, Fred was VERY good. Guy was on point which only made either experience that much better.

Had a real bad experience yesterday ribs were horrible little meat and no fall off the bone action. Total waste of $ 26 for a full rack of baby back ribs. The ribs didn’t taste good meat was awkward I want to return if I had a free rack of ribs waiting

I’ve been coming to Chris & Pitts since I can remember. At least 10 years minimum. My boyfriend and I moved up north for 2 years and once we moved back I HADTO bring him to the best barbecue spot I could remember. We weren’t trying to spend much money so we got daily specials which included garlic bread and two sides. I got the RIBCOMBO daily special with a side salad and mashed potatoes. My ribs were amazing except for 1 rib, it had a hot type of barbecue sauce that I wasn’t fond of. Idk what type of gravy they had on my mashed potatoes but I wanted more after so ASK for extra gravy! I am very picky about salads but mine was just right. Crispy with crackers and the thousand island came thick but eventually watered down from the fresh wet lettuce. My boyfriend got the Texas Barbecue Style sandwhich(3 types of meat!) special with fries and baked beans. Fries are thick cut and clean tasting(not too salty or greasy.) Beans are tastyyyyyyy. Must have with any barbecue plate. And we always drink water so our bill came out to $ 29! I’ve spent the same before at jack in the box. This place in one word? QUALITY!!! P.S. Daniel is sweet and very generous. Couldn’t have had better customer service. He’s on the ball.

It’s been about 12yrs since my last visit to this bbq restaurant, but my last experience was a good one so my wife and I went expecting the same if not better. The service was great and the appetizer was tasty which had us excited for the main entre. Unfortunately all of our other food came out luke warm to cold and made me sick to my stomach the rest of the night. Needless to say my family and I are never going to spend our money or anyone elses money eating at this restaurant ever again!

Wow, the portions are HUGE here!!! If you’re looking for a meal and a deal simultaneously, I definitely recommend the deluxe dinner for two if you have someone with you. Beef ribs, baby back ribs, 4 huge pieces of chicken PLUS each person gets their own corn, loaf of garlic bread, soup or salad, and dessert! I mean it’s a LOT of food and will definitely be more than enough for a meal the next day. The sauce is good but they really pour it on. Some pieces of chicken were dark meat and super tender and some were white and a little dry. The ribs were delicious and I’m not sure why some folks are so harsh on the food. Service was nice enough although a bit on the lackadaisical side. They’re not very attentive or quick to refill drinks. It sounds like they’re used to people ordering and thinking they can eat it all but mostly end up with bigger eyes than stomachs!

I ordered a large porterhouse steak with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was on such a small plate I had a hard time cutting it, the steak was decent but not worth $ 30. The mashed potatoes were the worst, they were instamash! I didn’t even know a restaurant would ever serve those, so gross. Wouldn’t go back.

Visiting Chris & Pitts has been on my mind for quite some time now… and I finally did so. I went in craving some BBQ and as the waitress came to take my order I asked her«what is good to get from here?». and She quickly replied«Everything». Now usually that is an indicator that I am not going to like this place, But I took it easy and I asked her«how is the spaghetti?» she told me that it is «the best spaghetti ever.» Now at this point I was convinced that this place wasn’t going to be very good. Normal people dont talk like that. But Regardless of her Too-good-to-be-true replies I tried to be unbiased and I told her my order.(1 beef rib and ¼ chicken with fries(she insisted the fries are great here!) and garlic bread and baked beans. I also ordered the onion flower(onion blossom)). When the Onion blossom came, it was actually pretty good and I was very happy about this because despite the vibe I was getting from this place, I was hoping I was wrong about the quality, so that I can find another good BBQ place… Sadly when the chicken and rib entrée came I was very, very disappointed. Rib quality was alright, but their barbecue sauce which had smothered the rib was terrible. the chicken was old and had a bad taste to it(on top of the horrible BBQ sauce) The baked beans were okay and sadly the best tasting thing on the place. The fries were some of the worst fries Ive ever had. I mean any fast food joint probably serves better fries than this place. Maybe it was an off night… IDK, but my experience sucked and if it weren’t for the halfway decent onion blossoms as my appetizer, I would’ve gave this place 1 star. I am sad to write this reply, but this was my experience. If I ever somehow end up going there again in my life, Maybe I’ll actually try the spaghetti.

I would like to say our waitress was very nice, I wish I remembered her name. This place is like you just walked into the twilight zone. Everyone from the employees to the other customers were just weird. I didn’t use the bathroom but you couldn’t miss it, it was like bathroom musical chairs everyone in & out or trying to find another bathroom it was just awkward. Our salads were crammed into tiny bowls so if you try and get a bite lettuce it falls out. The lettuce was wilted on the bottom. The beans were gross, garlic bread plain, the fries were good(I ate those) and my Hawaiian ribs were nothing special. My husbands rib trio was terrible a few of the ribs were completely charred black then covered with sauce, like we wouldn’t notice. We would have sent his back but it took forever to get our plates and the kitchen staff didn’t look to trust worthy on getting a returned plate with out spit on it. A kitchen staff member helped himself to a soda and put his hand into the ice bin, I thought that was pretty unsanitary! A customer at another booth said she wished she could have a cigarette because its like fear and loathing vegas style in there. I don’t think she slept in days either. lol This was a waste of $ 70 lunch. we will never go back ever :(

I freaking love this place. Craving bbq but driving out to SD for some phils is just way too crazy for me. So I come here to get my bbq fix! Usually I go with the daily specials, HUGEPORTIONS of food for a great price! They’re food tastes amazing every single time I come here. It’s whole-hearty-food. I love that if you can substitute side orders for a big plate of spaghetti when you get an entrée plate! Only 85 cents more! & Mind you, this side order is a full on meal itself. The sides are all delicious, the food is great. I usually always finish my food everywhere I go, but I always get leftovers to take home from here! It’s that huge! Service is a little slow sometimes, but some of the servers have been spectacular and very helpful. Love this place, and it hasn’t given me any reason not to come back!(:

Chis & Pitts has been around for decades and I remember their Bell location when growing up. Now down to only a couple of locations, I was en route from a long day in the southbay and called in a to go order for the rib combo platter to go. It contained yummy smoked pork ribs, baby backs and hard to find beef ribs and included delish thick fries, salad, bbq beans and a long slice of toasted bread. The food was ready in about 20 minutes and they have a convenient take out window for pick up. If you’re not in the mood to cook and are craving solid bbq I would definitely recommend Chris & Pitts!

I’ve been here twice. Today, I ordered the $ 9.99 special… grill chicken breast with fries, salad with ranch on the side and beef and barley soup. I should say that I’ve been to a lot of fantastic BBQ restaurants, especially out in Texas and other regions in the South. The food quality is really 3 stars, but I added an extra star for the service and price(a great value). +1: a LOT of food for a very reasonable price +1: service was prompt, helpful +1: the chicken breast was very well-seasoned and salad very fresh +1: beef barley soup had a LOT of meat and carrots in it(maybe a bit too much) –1: toasted garlic bread was dry and bland, really not good(they should take a lesson from Sizzler) –1: fries seemed like they’ve been sitting for awhile Our server was a very nice lady who seemed really overworked and exhausted. I made sure to give her a great tip to show her my appreciation for her work. Recommended.

I hear from people«oh man chris & pitts is the best its so good, yadda yadda.» Ive been here about 5 times ever. Every time I’ve made the same observation… The food is dry and bland. I ordered the Special $ 9.95 Top Sirloin(medium rare) with a side of mashed potatoes & side of steak fries; To Go. Attached is a picture of my meal & it definitely tasted as appetizing as it looks…

I didn’t know this place existed in this neighborhood. Their exterior design needs to pop… Otherwise, it just blends in with everything. The interior design, I only got a peek at because I was getting to-go. But it was nice. Looked like a steakhouse with all the wooden furniture. I got a Patty melt, a pulled pork sandwich, and some fries. The Patty melt was listed under steak burgers, but the toast totally indicates that it’s a sandwich! It was good though. The meat was easy to chew into and of course you can request how you’d like it done. It was great. My Patty melt came with a side of my choice: beans, soup, salad, or fries. The fries were thick, but unfortunately I forgot to ask for ketchup so it was quite plain. Portion was perfect. Not generous, but just the right amount. Price was decent for its amount and flavor. Would I go out of my way to get it? No. Worthy of my attention if I was in the area? Yes.

Well what can I say I’ve been coming to this restaurant chain for many years. My mom used change my diapers at this joint in the bathroom of course … I think… anyhow it’s infamous for having great BBQ at a great price. They’ve kept that tradition going, but unfortunately not the same consistency. I gotta keep it real people as much as I love this old school style joint, and I still consider myself a somewhat loyal customer I have to say my last visit was very disappointing! Put it this way isn’t BBQ supposed to have some kind of char or at least smokiness to it? My meat tasted like it was just thrown in the oven with ketchup tossed on top of it. What happened to the sense of pride in they’re cooking? Overall I cannot say this is a bad restaurant it’s actually a must if you live in the area. I will not give up hope on this place I just need a solid meal on my next visit, and I will update this review and give it the proper thumbs up it deserves. So come on C&P help me help you give that kitchen staff a stiff kick in the ass your loyal customers deserve the same quality you’ve given us in the past. I’m pulling for ya
