We go here often with having 6 cars in the household and they do great work and are so very nice. Jim is definitely an honest guy.

I got a flat tire while driving trough Whittier and while searching Unilocal I saw that there was an American tire depot right up the road I decided to stop even though I purchased my tires at the Montebello location they treated me with respect they told me to take a seat and that they would take care of me they fix my flat tire no questions asked no grief just great customer service definitely would recommend someone to come

Had good experience in store getting a new set of four tires. Good prices. Good service.
Unfortunately, I never received the free 4 Legoland tickets as promised. I emailed them about it and they replied back with a message that I could not understand. I asked for clarification and they never responded.
A couple months later, I tried taking off my tire to check the wear in my brake pads. I can’t get one of the lug nuts off. I even use a cheater bar to gain leverage and nope. They over-​tightened it by way too much. What if I get a flat and can’t hand loosen the lug nut?
Disappointed.

Took the truck to this place on 31 December. The crew all worked together well and I was out of there in 20 minutes. All four tire stems on the trailer needed to be replaced.

They do excellent work and provide you an upfront estimate. They will let you know if anything else needs done and quote that also. When it came time to pay the bill he was able to discount his estimate a little bit. We will be going back for tires and brakes in the future.

This is a great place to get tires or an oil change

My wife had two unfortunate experiences, one as recent as yesterday at this establishment. A year ago, Jim Summers, who claims to be the owner, sold my wife 2 struts and 4 tires for a total of $ 1,800. The car vibrated (and still does) worse than it did before he recommended the work.
Yesterday she had her tires rotated, left their establishment and was able to unscrew one of the lug nuts off with her hand when stopping for gas. AAA came out and found a 2^nd lug nut on another tire loose. Jim was extremely unprofessional in how he addressed the situation. Rather than owning up to an honest mistake, he sends me videos «proving» they didn’t make one. He then proceeds to start trashing his competitors (after I told him I was a customer of Costco Tires). I took the car (and videos) to two other shops in the area and they confirmed that their procedures are questionable since there is no other explanation for lug nuts becoming loose by themselves.
He claims he is the owner and «reports to no one». Considering all the other shops in this area, I high recommend you shop around before having work done at this facility.
It’s really too bad we had this experience. My in-​laws have been going there for years, dating back to when it was a Winston Tire.
As a teacher, I’ve learned a valuable lesson.

Other reviewers rave about this place so I decided to give them a call for an alignment. They quoted me $ 89.99 but they have a $ 20 off coupon so it will be $ 69.99. I come down and they tell me that the price is only for «Toe» adjustments. I said «alignments are toe, camber and caster» adjustments. The counter guys calls whoever is in charge and he said that Camber and Caster adjustments are more and it wil be $ 129.99. What a rip off. Those who are looking to go here might want to try other shops as they have been dishonest with me. Go to any reputable shops and they will tell you what an alignment consist of.

Just commenting on the post below. The fact is that lifted or not does not change what adjustments consist of for a vehicle. Toe, Camber, Caster are what an alignment consist of. So I do know what an alignment is.
It does not take hours as mentioned. Took it elsewhere and it took 50 minutes for all the components to get adjusted to my liking for $ 69.99 by a knowledgable technician. They took the time to show me what my alignment numbers was before and after.
I have worked on my own vehicles since I was 16 and now in my 30’s and installed the lift myself and have done from simple adjustments to complete engine rebuilds and some things just cannot be done at home without the proper equipment.
The bottom line is the fact that American Tire Depot Whittier stated that for alignments, they just adjust the toe and camber and caster is extra. So Jim, you can charge however much you want, I am just letting people know of my experience in your facility. 6 months from now, my alignment will be fine because like I said, it was set to my liking. To my specified specs.
Edit: I see that their comments have changed after reading mine. Fact of the matter is, they specifically told me alignment will only consist of toe and camber adjustments and caster is extra. What they don’t tell readers here is that you can’t adjust one and not have it affect the other adjustments so that doesn’t even make sense that camber/​caster is extra. They obviously can’t do math either stating that at least half of my reviews are bad. My reviews are accurate informing others of my experiences but their are fair.

I have been coming to this store for a little over a year now. Every experience I have had here has been great. Miguel has always been the one who helps me. He’s honest and straight forward. I have had my brakes done, tires replaced and some radiator work done here. I shopped around and they have the best price. Miguel takes the time to get to know his customers and never makes me feel pressured to fix things that don’t need to be fixed. This is why I am a loyal customer. They had a pretty decent waiting area with coffee, water, tv and things to read. Each time I go I feel like I get in and out of there pretty fast. Overall I would highly recommend this shop just ask for Miguel, his service is really top notch.

This shop had great service. I went in for a major alignment and my car runs great. It’s not the cheapest shop, (I located alignments at $ 40 at other shops) but when it turned out my car’s alignment was REALLY bad and needed twice the labor, they honored the original quote. Jim, the owner, is often on site. He is great with customers and funny too. My father-​in-​law referred me and said he got awesome service too.

This is the only place I can trust that is not going to overcharge me or try to add work that isn’t necessary. Love this place.

I think I need to stop by to confront these guys face to face.
The last two times I was there they told me a needed a new front right axel. When I asked them to see the problem they pointed to some grease on the cuff and then tried to talk me into making the repair on the spot. The first time I took it to my old mechanic who said it was fine. The second time I took it to my new mechanic who said it was fine. I’ve driven in about 10k miles on my «broken axel.» I don’t appreciate being lied to.
When I got my tires done there they broke off one of my bolts and then charged me $ 40 to replace it. When I switched my brakes a month later I discovered they had left off the lug nut. I’d driving about 1,500 miles (usually at high speeds) with only 3 lug nuts. There could have been a law suit if something had gone wrong.
MY ADVICE: go anywhere else and you will do better. If you get ripped off report them to the better business burrow.
The only reason I didn’t post this earlier is because I wanted to make sure they’re honor my lifetime rotation — obviously I don’t trust them.
UPDATE (4÷6÷12): my «broken axel» has at least 5,000 miles on it now. These dudes straight lied to me.
Update (10÷13÷12): still driving on my «broken axel» (at least 10,000+ miles later). Verified with another mechanic that there is a tear in the cuff. That clarification would have been helpful. A tear in the cuff allows the grease to escape little by little. It doesn’t need to be immediately but eventually could lead to problems down the line. I’ve given it about a year and a half… still going. Maybe it will break tomorrow?

This place is great, geat service great prices. They take care of you right away, I check the tire prices against Costco and he was almost $ 150 less. Jim the owner is there to help, and take care of any problems. He even threw in a free oil change.
