1 DAY WINDOWS

Before the Internet the old saying was «do right by someone and they will tell 2 people, do them wrong and 11 people will find out about it.»
Well, I am sad to have lost money while trying to do business with this company but have some solace knowing that more than 11 people will know about it and be warned to think twice before considering doing business with One Day Windows in Whittier.
* I contacted One Day to quote a shower enclosure as part of a rebuild of my master bathroom. After several attempts and missed appointments (One Day Flaked) I eliminated One Day from Consideration.
* 5 Months later when my general contractor informed me that his usual shower enclosure sources were not coming through I contacted One Day and told him that if he was serious to show it. I gave him a shot informing him that my general contractor had 3 to 4 more jobs coming up and if he did right by me my general would give him a solid shot at the other projects.
* One Day was responsive and impressed me over the phone. After meeting with my general I went to the Lambert Rd location to review a quote and discuss timing of an order and installation.
* I went to the Lambert Rd location and was less than impressed with the «showroom.» Despite my misgivings the owner arrived a few minutes later and despite my concerns he convinced me that his price delivery and service would be unmatched.
* When my general contractor heard the number he suggested I give a deposit and place a preliminary order pending timing of delivery. The deal was if he could not deliver on time the deposit would be refunded. I should have known better when HE HAD NO RECEIPTS AT HIS OFFICE!!! He wrote my receipt for my $ 200.00 deposit on the back of a business card!!!
* 5 days later I received a call that despite One Day’s best efforts they could NOT secure glass in time to meet my installation date.
* I have a contact with one of the major glass suppliers. I suggested that maybe he would be able to help One Day. I recommended that the owner of One Day put a call in to my connection in the event the glass could be secured. The owner of One Day informed me that the rep for that glass company had been after him for a shot at his business so why not give it a try.
* I called my connection to warn him that he would be getting a call from One Day. At that time he informed me that he had never heard of them and that if One Day was telling him that the rep from his company was after the One Day business, he was lying. He was lying as my connection is the rep for his company in Whittier and had never called on or solicited business from One Day Glass.
* Needless to say my contact told me he would not sell to One Day and any chance of having my enclosure installed by my desired date was gone.
* I called the owner of One Day and told him to put things on hold and that forcing things to try to make them work was a sure way to create problems. With other projects and business travel I told him it could be several weeks before we regrouped and revisited the project, but I also informed him that my glass contact was going to send one of his people to look at my project.
* Ultimately my contact’s installer came through with a better design with thicker glass than One Day was going to install.
* I contacted the owner of One Day to inform him that I would not be going forward with him on the project and that I wanted to make arrangements for return of my $ 200.00 deposit. He became belligerent and while yelling at me informed me that his «standard paperwork has written on it that deposits are nonrefundable after two days.» TOO BAD I NEVER SAW STANDARD PAPERWORK AND ALL I GOT WAS A RECEIPT ON THE BACK OF A BUSINESS CARD!!!
* He then told me that the only way I was going to get my money back was if I applied the deposit to other work!!!
* Needless to say I can not recommend One Day Windows in Whittier, rather I recommend to all that they stay away and seek other suppliers.
