We’ve been specializing in pet grooming and boarding for over 40 years! Our Groom and Board Motel is open on weekends, for your vacations and during emergencies. We are the one of the largest kennels in Queens for boarding. Chances are very good we’ve groomed your pet or your neighbor’s pet before! Our grooming experts are available everyday for an appointment and to offer advice on keeping your pet looking good!

History

Established in 1972.

In 1972, at 18 I opened up as a pet shop with grooming taught by my Mom. 30 years ago, with the built up trust in Grooming and the trusted demand for quality Boarding we added 45 beautiful, large & clean Kennel runs up to 8 feet long for all pets in our care, even kitties. Never Tiny Cages. Along with my daughter Rachael we care for pets 24÷7÷365 a year. Grateful for 43 years Groom & Board Service & 3 Generations Caring for your Pets Needs

Whitestone Pets has been family owned and operated since 1972! My father, Eddy has been providing safe & dependable boarding & grooming for 43+ years. I began working with the animals in 2004, my father taught me everything I know.

From making sure each & every dog we take care of while their owners are away is not only safe and comfortable but also HAPPY, to the ins and outs of different supplies, foods, common allergies and problems so we’re able to provide you with the best free doggy advise, to how to cut their hair. What we have most in common is that we love all the animals that we take care of every day :)

10 if I could.
Needed to find a place because our groomer closed down. We were recommended to go to a few places. One had to leave my dog in a cage for several hours prior to grooming, another needed to muzzle because I said our dog don’t like many men. One place even said no because our dog is nervous and the head groomer is «traumatized because he was bitten a few times». Yes, that was really said.
I called many places until I called Whitestone. I explained our dog is very nervous and I need a female to work on her. The owner said no problem. He told me Rachael will call me right away. Rachael called and was very understanding. Made an appointment for the same day.
Megan and Rachael took care of our dog like I never thought could be possible. Megan started with a wash and Rachael groomed with Megan’s help which was needed because our little girl was nervous. Megan held her and pet her and spoke to our dog throughout. They calmed her down and did a fantastic job. Nails, ears and eyes were done perfect.
Her haircut was the best she has ever had.

I’ve brought my Shih Tzu, Jaycee, here a couple of times now and I’m super happy with their work. She had so many knots and instead of doing what Petco or PetSmart had done in the past and shaved her, they actually took the time to comb her out and give her a great cut. She looked so pretty. And I definitely can’t complain about their prices either. I can’t imagine ever taking her anywhere else. Thank you!!!

Being a dog owner, I have known this business for more years than I would like to admit.
FIRST… If you have a problem with the owners, I can tell you why… Animals are nicer than people.
Try some kindness… after all they are caring for your dog.
I do not board my dog if I don’t have too. But when I do this is the only place I would trust.
Eddie and his daughter are amazing people who take pride in what they do and do it with love.

Eddie and Rachael work extremely hard to keep your pets safe, happy and looking good! Their main concern is always the safety and happiness of your pets. The kennels are well taken care of and extremely clean. If your dog is groomed or boarded here he/​she will always come out fresh and happy. I would definitely recommend Whitestone Pets to any one who wants the best care for their dogs!

I have been taking Gizmo to Whitestone Pets for many, many years and I would never take my dog anywhere else to get groomed or board! I am very happy with their services! They treat my dog with compassion! They are always so kind and considerate!
Gizmo feels very comfortable here! They always accommodate us! Their prices are so reasonable!
I have been to 3 other places and had terrible experiences over the years way back when and now I am so happy to have found a place away from home for gizmo! I can’t thank them enough for everything!

I have been bringing my dogs there for years thanks to a recommendation by a friend. I cannot say enough about Eddie, Rachel and Grace. They are incredible and caring and I am very particular as most pet owners are about who grooms and cares for my girls. I would recommend them highly and without reservation! Unfortunately, this past week I had to put my Lexi down. Happened so quickly and was a shock! Thank you all for always taking such incredible care of her when she came in to be groomed!

After leaving my pet twice here for boarding (not grooming) I can finally determine that I will not be using them again. As other reviews have stated, the owner is very rude which is something that was apparent even on the initial phone call. I’ve met plenty of «dog people» who are not people friendly so I gave it a shot anyway. The first time was for a couple of days. It went fine enough, my puppy just didn’t smell very good when I brought him home and his digestive was messed up for awhile (generally a problem with uncomfortability, not the care taking). I got a call coming off my plane at Exactly 10 am by the owner staying once AGAIN that if whoever picked him up wasn’t there at exactly 10 am no one would be there the rest of the day and I’d be charged again. The person picking him up was outside waiting so I didn’t appreciate the panic over nothing. I also don’t like knowing that my dog is there an entire day with no one there. We left for a week and brought him in again for boarding (not grooming). I noticed on the receipt that I was charged $ 24 extra for «grooming» so I left it and assumed I’d come back to a clean short nailed dog. Which I did not. He smelled bad once again and even though when I looked toward his nails the owner said he just filed them, they are longer than ever. (Someone has contacted me since stating that it was a clerical error which is understandable).
Since writing this review the company has contacted me to attempt amends. I appreciate their reaching out and customer service in this instance and have adjusted my review. I can’t say that I’m entirely happy with my experience but I commend anyone who takes responsibility and honors their customers.

I absolutely love this place and the people that work here I have a shitzu named mickey and they cut him absolutely amazing, and no matter when I call I week before or a day before they always give me the appointment. They are all so sweet and treat pets like celebrities. My experience is always greattt.

I’ve been coming to Whitestone Pets for odds & ends over the years. Even though I moved to Floral Park they are generally my go-​to for dog products. The owner’s daughter is so helpful. Recently I explained that I wanted to try a more natural dog food for my pittie, Hera, and she went all out to show me all the differences between the different foods they sell. She really is a sweetheart & I couldn’t expect anything more! The owner always makes jokes & he’s clearly dedicated to his business. Hera loves to come in the store and «pick» her own new toy. Very friendly family. You guys rock!

Nothing would make me happier than rating this groomer a 0⁄5 if I was able to, but unfortunately I can’t so ill settle for a 1⁄5.
The staff was initially friendly and flexible with me, I easily scheduled my dog within an hour of my phone call to have her nails clipped. After i brought my dog to the store, staff requested my payment up front. They ran my card, acquired payment for the service and once i payed for it, it became apparent that they stopped caring altogether.
Staff saw my dog for less than 2 minutes and told me to have a vet clip her nails. The environment was filled with barking and whimpering dogs, OF COURSE MY DOG WOULDN’T BE COMFORTABLE HERE AFTER JUST 2 MINUTES! What was worse was that they charged me full price for cutting less than half of our dogs nails.
HATE this place, I could’ve easily been a weekly customer of theirs as I live in whitestone and it was a very convenient location for my dog. The staff did not give my dog adequate attention and handed the leash back to me with the statement, «she peed on her leash». Essentially I left the store with my dog smelling like pee, half of her nails were still uncut, and I was $ 10.84 poorer.
I am a huge supporter of small businesses, just not ones that put in no effort in and lack compassion for their clientele. Take your money elsewhere, and let this place go out of business.

WARNING!!! POSITIVE REVIEW AHEAD…
First things first i was sent here by a friend from work. He has a Siberian Husky so I trust his opinion. I’m going to break my review down into sections.
Overall Customer Service: 5 Stars
Phone: I called before going to check the place out. The owner answered, made a joke and that was it. I knew this was the place for me! If you don’t understand his sense of humor, it’s probably because you’re having a bad day or you’re just a miserable person whom doesn’t like to laugh!
In person visit: The next day my boyfriend and I came to check the facility out on our lunch break. We loved it, him and left a deposit.
Drop Off: I cried like a baby because we were leaving our baby for 8 days. This was our first time being away from our baby since we got her (almost 3 years). We were greeted by the owner’s daughter Omg what a flippn sweetheart! She was super sweet, friendly and personable like her dad! There was another lady there that was also sweet.
My best friend picked our baby up. She told me how happy our baby was! We got home to a super happy and groomed baby! Not only did they take care of her for eight days, they also groomed her for free!
They exceeded every hope and wish I had! They made this very paranoid helicopter mommy feel very safe. I even called while I was away in St. Lucia. The owner was very patient and understanding.

My family has used Whitestone Pets grooming service for years. The employees are always friendly and it is obvious that they really care about my dog. At my last visit, the owner took the time to thoroughly clean out the wax build up in my dogs ears-​without me even asking! I wouldn’t trust anyone else to care for my pet.

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Whitestone Pets for both their grooming and boarding services for years. Eddy is a master with the scissor and clipper and my dogs always look perfect! They are always accommodating with when I need to come in to drop off and pick up my pups. Did I mention the great price? My friends in the city pay over double and it looks like the groomer barely did anything. I don’t know what kind of shampoo they use but my pooches smell good for weeks.
Eddy and Rachael give me great advice when my dogs have dietary and skin issues that have often worked better than going to the vet.
I feel very comfortable boarding my dogs at WP. My main concern is safety. I know the dogs cannot escape onto the street and won’t be put together near a big aggressive dog. Sometimes I call when I’m away to get a report :) the location is also pretty good, as it’s on my way to LGA and JFK.
All in all the price is right, I know my dogs are in good hands and I always like to support a local small family business.
Tip for grooming– try to make a weekday appointment if you’re in a rush it’s less busy.

I’ve had to board my dog twice with this store this summer. The first time for 4 days, and the second time for roughly a month. Both times, they took excellent are of my dog. The people working there have always been very friendly, and very knowledgeable about my dog. I definitely plan on using them whenever I have to go away again.

I am in the process of finding a place to board my dog. I received a mailer for Whitestone Pets and thought I’d drop in to check the place out. The bald headed guy
is rude, sarcastic, condescending and oh, did I say he was rude?! I would not trust my dog in the hands of this place. He seems angry and grouchy. On top of it all, I am only looking to board my dog for 1 night. He gives me the nightly rate but says it’s a 2 night minimum!!! WTF? Thanks but no thanks!
