Nubreed Martial Arts Academy

This place is the best. Great instructors and the facilities are clean! My son has been going for over 5 years and he loves is every time! The entire staff is great.

Nubreed Martial Arts was a truly exceptional martial arts experience. From the second i got there I was treated as family. The instructors were kind and very knowledgeable in their respective arts. The building itself as everything a martial artist can ask for with wing chun dummies in the front and several punching bags in the back side.

after reading all the reviews and looking at the website i called in to ask about the schedule and prices… ive never been 2 this place but im giving them a 5 stars solely because 1. they teach many different types of martial arts which i value most 2 receptionist on the other line spoke 2 me friendly smiling and was extremely easy 2 talk 2. i cant do it cause i would have 2 pay multiple tolls daily but i value a location that has excellent customer service and is transparent about their prices. i wish the company luck and i hope every1 there is as nice as others here say they r.

My daughter really enjoys the academy under the supervision of Sifu Alex and Sifu Luigi, their leadership and philosophical approach to teaching reflect in the learning progress and enthusiasm my daughter upholds so dearly. Everyone in the academy is approachable and very dedicated to the learning progress.. Not only will she not miss a class but she is now working towards archiving her black belt. The skills and confidence taught by Numbered are really top notch and beneficial to children of any age.
I would highly recommend this academy to anyone not just for kids but for adults as well.
The classroom and rooms are pristine and well kept.
I could only wish they were closer to Backside by I an willing to travel to Whiteside!

Ive been going here since I was 8 years old, but unfortunately I had to stop because of school and work reasons. I Absolutely adored my time with Nubreed and I plan on going right back this summer. Every instructor is kind, knowledgeable and understanding. At no point while in this school have I felt threatened or embarrassed. I felt like I was a part of a family. Everyone knew my name, everyone treated me like I was apart of this family. Going to class was such a big relief I felt so good and distressed afterwards. It was always a great workout, my heart was always beating, I always came out of that class sweating and feeling great. This school has helped me lose A TON of weight. Eating right and coming here is all I needed to lose 30 pounds before. The school itself if very nice, and clean. The mats were awesome they were sepereated into a more boxing oriented room (red mats) and a more jiu jitsu ground work type of room (blue mats). They had changing rooms in the back, a meditation room with a bruce lee quote. They also have a vending machine where you could get water and vitamin water from and they also have a snack machine where you can get healthy snacks if you wanted. I would like to take a moment to talk about the instructors that have impacted my life.
Sifu Luigi– Growing up I never had a dad around, I always looked at Sifu Luigi like a father figure for me. He would always push me to my limits and he helped shape my personality the way I am today. He is amazing at what he does he is extremely kind. I am so grateful for the things hes done for my Mother and I. I love him very much.
Sifu Alex– Sifu Alex was the man! He had some really funny and sometimes corney jokes. He is a great Sifu just like Sifu Luigi he is very skilled as well. He is also very nice.
Seehin (sorry for spelling) Pierre– I sparred with him for my black belt test in juniors 2! He is also very funny and kind. He is a great instructor. He always called me the dancing machine and also me and my friend andy batman and robin… I hope I was batman
Seehin John– Great instructor, Saturday class with Seehin John was always the best. You felt pain but the good kind. He is very nice and kind. He is also a bit on the smaller end but that doesnt mean he should be taken lightly by any stretch of your imagination. He is extremely talented.
Seehin Ventura– Great instructor he is a machine. Very nice and always looking out for the best. He will push you until hes seen you have done what he expects.
Nubreed was like a second home to me. I promise you if you give it a chance you will not be disappointed. Big, small, fat, skinny, ugly, these words do not exist at Nubreed. You are there for the same reason as everyone else to have fun, have a great workout, and to learn. Thank you for reading and thank you Nubreed.

Thru the years I have either attended or seen various martial arts academy. From TSK to most currently Nubreed. Hands down I find Nubreed to be the best out of all of them. What sets them apart from so many other academies out there comes down to one word… dedication.
The dedication can been seen not only in the eyes of all the instructors but it can be seen in the eyes of the students and their families. It is this dedication that Sifu Alex & Sifu Luigi help to encourage and foster in everyone that steps thru their doors. It is this dedication you can see as the instructors drill their students and it is this dedication you see as the students work hard not only in class, but during their belt promotions.
This is why I dedicate my time to bringing my son to Nubreed as often as I can. The dedication and commitment Nubreed puts into helping their students grow and excel encourages me to help my son progress thru the ranks.
They are a hidden gem in Whitestone and if you can join them I highly encourage you to do so.

I have been a member of Nubreed Martial Arts for about 11 years. I live in Brooklyn NY. So it is a little drive for me but well worth it. 11 years of doing this says alot. I studied martial arts at other schools at times and my friend introduced me to Nubreed. What I love about NUbreed is… it’s not just a business. It’s family. I train off and on… I am looking to be more regular esp in 2014… but when I am missing from class… I get a call to find out if all is well and encouragement to come back in as soon as possible. NEVER any pressure and teir understand and patience level is incredible. When I do come back… the welcome is warm and no «brow beating.» Then I realize what I have been missing out on… The skill level for the instructors after off the charts and they take the time to make sure you get it. I love it. Then outside of the school… the relationships built up inside the school… takes you to a whole new level of friendships that really become family. Come down and check it out… YOU be the judge.

I’ve been a student of Nubreed for 16 years. I initially joined so I could learn how to protect myself, but Sifu Luigi, Sifu Alex, the Instructor Staff, and the extended Nubreed family has provided so much more than that. It’s helped immensely in my own personal development and continues to be a daily source of inspiration. Also to note, this a super clean, beautiful, and professionally managed academy. If you’re looking for the ultimate training experience. This is the place.

Almost another year has passed and I am still happy with this school. And still, even though I am in a higher rank now, there is still an overwhelming amount of skills that I can learn. Being a more senior student, I am able to observe the progress that many new students made more objectively. I see these students making pretty good progress within 3 to 4 months of training. They are able to do punching and kicking that look almost like a professional! :-)
After being here for a while, I discovered the reason why the learning materials never get exhausted. This is because while the students are learning, the Sifus and instructors are also learning as well. They attend martial art instructors seminars and classes on a regular base. By doing so,
these learning take their skills to a higher level and allow them to share these new skills with the students. This is a five-​star school.

Handsdown the best martial arts school in the entire tri-​state!!! They teach a variety of martial arts such as jkd, bjj, muy thai, csw, kali. An excellent training environment with a positive family atmosphere. I highly recommend that you join this school you will not be disappointed. You will better your life heathwise, walkout with a positive attitude, and your training from the best.

I take women’s kickboxing here and I love the place. It’s clean, the teachers are kind but intense, and all the women in the class have been super nice an easy to partnet up with (I came into it knowing nobody). The prices for the class I’m told by friends that take kickboxing elsewhere are pretty par for the course and if you can go all the times they offer the class then you really get your money’s worth.

Very patient, polite staff. Clean training floors. Excellent. And, free parking too.
