Such nice people! I do like a sense of humor and a kind smile. The food is really very good. We always get the business lunch because it’s a huge plate of food for a great price. Falafels here are also quite good. Can’t wait to get back.

Even though over the years the quality of the food has slightly diminished, Pita Inn is still a hell of a bang for your buck. I have yet to come across better falafel –crispy on the outside, smooth and rich on the inside– or rice. If you’re lucky enough to come for lunch on a weekday, do take advantage of the lunch special. I promise you you’ll never get a better deal. I like the chicken shawarma –even though the last time I found the chicken to be dry– and the shish kebab — tender and juicy. The tamarind juice is also a must. Wheeling is lucky to have a place like this.

Crappy establishment, got skimped on my lunch special that should include everything each and only got a few pieces of shish kabab haha. Paid 5.99 for that and only got half the meal, sh***y as f**k

I was in the area, and I have heard a lot of good things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. I have also heard this place gets very busy, I lucked out I was there at an off time. Anyways I ordered the Combination Feast, which consists of Shish Kabobs, Kifta Kabobs, Shawarma, Chicken, Falafel, with rice and pita. The food was great, cooked to perfection, perfect in taste. the spicy sauce gives it the right amount of a kick. service was good, restaurant was clean. Overall a good experience.

I love that pita inn caters to both lunch and dinner options. The food is always fresh and very consistent. You will know exactly what you’re eating each and every time. They have the best taziki and hot sauce that Mediterranean has to offer. We normally order the combo plate and upgrade the salad to fatoush. I prefer the wheeling location to all the other.

Have been going to Pita Inn for years. The one on Golf Rd specifically, I did have this location cater my wedding. It is really the best Middle Eastern food I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a few places in Chicago and suburbs.

Holy kabob this place is good!!! Came across it unexpectedly and stopped in for the combination feast(it really is a feast, I have enough leftovers for about 2 more meals). Inexpensive especially during their lunch special. Everything tastes authentic and homemade and just warms your stomach and your heart. Definitely will be back many more times to try the rest of the menu.

Over priced. Small portions. Mediocre presentation. Comparing this to Pita Pita a few miles away, this is a rip off. Their yogurt cucumber salad is good and their rice is too but those are basic. The amount of food you get is very small for the price. Wont be back unless im feeling desperate for something middle eastern

The business lunch special is the best. I believe it has four different types of meat and it is all really tasty. Even the chicken is moist with a good marinade on it. The one fried falafel ball is crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside. I really liked the spicy sauce and the refill of pitas that they give you. The service is quick and friendly. If you go during lunch get there early or you might not be able to find a table. Side note for anyone allergic to peanuts: falafel is made out of chickpeas which is a member of the peanut family. My niece had a severe allergic reaction to the falafel because she has a peanut allergy so just be mindful if you do too. It wasn’t the restaurant’s fault — just something that we weren’t aware of.

My coworker was bragging about this place, she told me that every time she comes to Chicago to see her family or for business trips she makes sure she comes to this location! I thought I will check out the hype myself — food was AMAZING! It is pretty easy to locate, google map took us right to the location. It has a private lot, so there is ample amount of parking space available. It has the cafeteria look — find a table on your own, order at the counter and once the order is ready they will scream your name. Once you are done with your meal, go drop off your plates back at the counter. I ordered a Vegetarian Falafel plate, it came with 6 falafel, 2 pita breads, salad, yogurt and a really spicy red sauce. It’s by far the best falafel I have had — that too for less than $ 6.00! My coworker stated that the red sauce is spicy but according to me it had the perfect kick to it. My taste buds were happy to find that perfect hot sauce — I mean even though some restaurants claim their sauce to be spicy it is not the right level of spiciness I look for. The proportions are huge, one can easily be satisfied with one plate but knowing me I had to have two for myself. We ordered baklava as well, it was pretty delicious. I am not a fan of Indian or Mediterranean desserts — I am all about ice-cream, cheese cakes and brownies but my coworker said that she always gets it and she really enjoys it. I only wish that they were little quick with the service in regards to cleaning or wiping the tables for next group of people to sit. Other than that the restaurant itself is pretty clean though.

I was driving back to my hotel debating what I’m going to eat for lunch when suddenly tada! PITAINN. I made a fat U-Turn and ordered. Food: I ordered the meat mix. It was delicious! Definitely one of the best Mediterranean meals I’ve had! I didn’t expect it to be this good since it seemed like I was in the middle of nowhere. Red sauce and white sauce on the side. Service: Very friend staff. Order at counter and wait for your calling. Environment: Fairly large seating area. Place was packed by the time I got my food. Price: Very cheap! I had so much food and it was under $ 10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Environment: 4 Price: 5

I blame Whole Foods in Kitsalano, Vancouver for a craving for falafel. I REALLY needed to get some and Trader Joe’s has stopped selling the«Mideast Feast». Suddenly, I remembered a place in Wheeling I went to a long time ago, the Pita Inn. I ordered a Vegetarian Falafel Plate. For $ 5.99, I got 6 falafel, 2 full pitas, some salad, yogurt sauce and a really HOT red sauce. I could not finish more than half of it, so this is a 2 meal 6 dollar deal for me. It was definitely better than Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s and not really that much more money. This place may have the best falafel I’ve ever had, and the pitas ARE the best I’ve ever had, no question. I did not eat in the restaurant(I got take out). but it looked very clean. Now eating here isn’t really probably a giant«experience» like eating at a more expensive place, but the place was spotless and I really think that is important in a restaurant. It was cleaner than any«fast food» or «casual dining» restaurant I’ve been in lately. I highly recommend this place based on the good quality, value, and general cleanliness of the place. I don’t see how you could really go wrong here. Consider giving it a try if you are in the area, I think you will like it too.

I’ve been going to this Pita Inn for about 10 years now. This place was my introduction to Mediterranean food and I’ve been in love ever since. Whenever I go, I order the beef shawarma sandwich, falafel, and stuffed grape leaves. The beef is so delectable and it just melts in your mouth. The falafel are highly addicting and the grape leaves are just amazing. I’ve also tried the combination feast, the hummus(with oil and without oil), and the falafel sandwich. If you’re looking for a large meal, order the feast. The lamb and beef pieces are delicious and easy to chew(never had a tough piece of meat), the chicken is flavored beautifully, and the rice is great. When you go, make sure you try the spicy red sauce and the tahini sauce. Both give the food that extra something-something. Just be warned, sometimes the spicy sauce is really spicy. I’m a girl who loves her salsa hot but sometimes it’s too much. When that happens, just add a little more tahini and your tongue will be okay. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the mood for fast, delicious Mediterranean. I give it 4 stars just because I’m not too fond of the current restaurant set up(I’ve seen this place go through at least 3 different configurations). The current layout makes it tight during busy periods and it can echo.

Ever since the husband has started liking Mediterranean food(see my other Mediterranean 5 star review) I’ve been helping broaden his horizon in it. Last night he was indecisive about dinner and I suggested Pita Inn. He was apprehensive of trying this place thinking it was like a similar Mediterranean joint in Palatine that we had a horrible experience at(see 2 star review on that place). I went to Pita Inn to order and pick up the food. I was surprised to see the amount of cars there at 7:30 in the evening on a Thursday night. I ordered the combination feast and for my husband the Shish Kabob. I also noticed they had Garlic Sauce too and I of course had to try it as I’ve always had the standard Tahini sauce here. Food was ready surprisingly fast! My food came with with their Falafel which I’m not a fan of and gave it to my husband. The husband thought the Falafel tasted decent. I also let him try some of my chicken, kufta, and shawarma. He thought the meat, chicken, his own Shish Kabob and rice tasted delicious and flavorful. He was impressed(YAY)!!! I of course throughly enjoyed all the meats, rice, and their delicious pita bread. That garlic sauce… OMG.,.tasted AMAZING! We loved the garlic sauce and highly recommend ordering it! We also had so much food that we have leftovers for lunch today! Pita Inn has always been my Mediterranean go-to and i’m pretty sure that my husband feels the same. Thanks for giving him another Mediterranean option and for always tasting awesome!

Cannot praise this restaurant enough! Consistently good Mediterranean food. This is probably the best lunch value in town; they have a business lunch special priced at $ 4.95; what a bargain and the portions are huge. The combination platter is excellent, as is the Lamb Kabob plate. The hummus is homemade, served room temperature and out of this world, as are the fallafal. Most entrees come with complimentary pita. Excellent food & Excellent value!

Love the food at Pita Inn — and the value proposition here is high. At lunchtime — their Business Lunch special is simply unbeatable! For a whopping $ 5.99 — you get a whole heap of tasty food. You get a nice sampling of protein options(shawarma, kabob, kifte, chicken, and a falafel) served with rice, pita, and salad. I think you’d be hard pressed to get more value from your lunch anywhere else. This place is always crazy busy at lunch — but service is always super quick. Even past the lunch special, their other options are all fantastic — huge portions of tasty food, all for great prices. I like the chicken shawarma plate, with a little add-on of garlic sauce and a couple falafel. Great food + great prices = 5 stars and a repeat customer.
