Wish they didn’t close so early, but then they are working long before I am out of bed. Never had a bad experience here.

This is an authetic deli. I was in Chicago area for just 48 hours and ate here twice. Why mess with perfection. Great food, huge portions, friendly service, and reasonable prices! I was so happy, I felt like a cop in a donut shop! If you have the chance, eat here. Really, I am not being compensated for this endorsement. But if they offered I would take it all in breakfast vouchers! Yummy! Excuse me, I now have to go run a marathon to work off the calories!

I find myself in the area again My second time here. I like this place. Their bagels are the real deal. They’re not like the ones masquerading as bagels from your grocer or Panera. Not that those are particularly bad, they“re just not real bagels but are more like bread in a bagel shape. The ones here are dense and chewy like real bagels are supposed to be. The real deal. If you’re in the area and you like bagels, they are worth checking out. Cheers to all

Best rugelach I’ve ever tasted. You must try the chocolate rugelach with a side of raspberry rugelach. Breakfast bagels are also amazing. Some of the best bagels I’ve tasted outside of New York City. The side of hashbrowns complete this perfect breakfast. I suggest you come hungry and trust your eyes when you order. Everything looks good and it 100% tastes good. Terrific service and what a great deli feel.

The first thing we noticed was how amazingly clean everything looks– good sign! We ordered a lox omelette and lox platter. Both dishes were great and we are thrilled that we have a new place to eat. The help was very gracious also.

Very skimpy sandwich for the money. Went for lunch and ordered a corned beef sandwich. The bread was very dry rye. I’d bet they give you 3 oz of corned beef — which was also dry. I got cole slaw as a side, which came in one of those quarter cup plastic cups. That plus a pickle spear for over 9 bucks. Go to New York Bagel and Bialy on Dempster in Niles for a superior sandwich.

1st time in this shop, greeted with smiling faces. The place is clean and has a happy staff. I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese, kept it simple for my first order. Will be back to try other options!

We found this place because we won a certificate for a dozen bagels. I’m so happy we did, it is a great place. When we came in at lunchtime on a weekend the place was busy but manageable. About 2⁄3 of the tables were occupied and there was a 3-person line to order. The guy in front of us was ordering many different meats to go including hot corned beef. I’ve never seen people slice hot corned beef before. I thought first you slice it then you warm it, but no, this one is sliced hot. So we ordered some to go too. It was triple — packed, so it was still warm and delicious when we got home. Looking forward to coming back. Next time we’ll have lunch there instead.

First time visiting bagel shop. Had bagel with lox platter and my teenage daughter had bagel with whitefish salad platter with a large cup of coffee. Total bill was only $ 18. Food was served within three minutes. Food was fresh and delicious. We are transplants from New York and this bagel shop reminds of the corner bagel shops found through out the tri-state new York area. Also staff is super happy as all were smiling. I highly recommend shop and will definitely be returning for great food and terrific customer service.

I have been to both Bagel and Bialy places in Wheeling and Buffalo Grove. The place on Milwaukee is the best by far.

I grew up going to Chicago Bagel & Bialy before they relocated and became Chicago Bagel & Bialy II. If I happen to be near my parents’ house when I’m in town, I stop in for a french onion bagel with chive cream cheese. It sounds simple, I know, but it’s so darn good! The only downside is sometimes the line moves slower than molasses, but I always wait because, like I said, it’s so darn good!

Let’s start of by saying I’m Jewish. I live for bagels and lox, corned beef sandwiches, challa bread and matza ball soup. This is the place to go. It’s worth every penny. My husband and I have taken in friends, ordered to go items etc. Unfortunately we moved 20 miles north, we used to live 5 min away! But we will still make the drive. The sides they give are also amazeballs! I love the home made potato salad. The staff is super friendly, even if it takes a while because the line gets long on the weekends, wait your turn and you won’t be sorry! They are busy because they are so good!

Straight up bagels… is that an oxymoron?! Their bagels are fresh and delicious. When we pulled in to an empty parking lot at 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon, I got a little nervous, but we did not drive all this way to turn around and turn back but rest assured, they were open and waiting for us! :) I learned that you can get a special on a dozen bagels after 3:30 so we ate lunch and then got our baker’s dozen bagels to go! Having never been here before, they gave me a «sample» to try before ordering. The«sample» was an ENTIRE bagel. Good sampling, if you ask me. My husband, Steve, ordered a fresh sliced corned beef sandwich on rye with a side of potato salad and I got a bowl of chicken soup with a bialy. The soup was very good and my bialy was awesome. Steve noticed my drooling over his sandwich and allowed me to snag a few bites. Thanks, babe! It really was awesome. Fresh sliced beef piled high on some lovely rye bread with a little mustard made for an amazing sandwich! We took a baker’s dozen bagels home to share with friends and family and I did notice the bagels are a little chewy. Now, bagels are notoriously chewy and thats not a bit deal but they were very chewy. I wonder if it’s because they were so fresh. Anything is possible. This doesn’t mean we didn’t like them, I just wanted to share this incase anyone has any issues with chewy foods. In other words, I wouldn’t bring these to my grandma. They lose a star from me because we also took a whoopie pie home which I did not hesitate to crack into later that night. Unfortunately, it was a little stale. I don’t think they make these on site, so I would guess it was a few days old. We will definitely be back… we just know what to expect this time!

5 stars for the hot Corned Beef sandwich on rye. Excellent flavor and portion. Check out my picture. Sandwich came with a pickle and choice of potato salad or cole slaw. I got the potato salad and it was pretty darn good. I haven’t had a corned beef sandwich this good in this area for quite some time now. So glad I stopped in because this is my new ‘go to’ place for corned beef. Excellent value too. Everything is prepared to order so it may be a good idea to call in an order because the line can get long.

I give this place five stars because my experience here was great. There’s nothing fancy about this place aesthetically it looks just like how any bagel shop(not café) would look like. It seemed as if most of its customers had pick up orders and were in and out quickly. I was visiting Chicago from NY and had a craving for a good bagel and cream cheese and this place did not disappoint. My standards for bagels are pretty high and both my boyfriend and I were surprised at how delicious the food was. I got an everything bagel with veggie cc, regular bagel with scallion cc, and a hot bagel sandwich with potatoes on the side. The potatoes were slightly burnt but my focus was on the perfect texture of their bagels and juicy fillings. Will try more and update!

Stopped in today for lunch ordered the hot corned beef on rye and potato salad. The sandwich was average, a little expensive for my pocket book, with drink it was 11.50. Service was OK, guy who waited on me at the counter was talking to another employee the whole time. I do not know how this made«Chicago Best».

Awesome fresh made bagels here! I only had the bagel with cream cheese here, but I can surely say that this was one of the best bagels I’ve ever had. I thought my mom was crazy when she asked if I’ve had a bagel from here. Being from Northbrook, we have an overabundance of Jewish delis to choose from. Once Upon a Bagel, Upper Crust Bagel, Max and Benny’s to name a few… so why travel out to Wheeling and Milwaukee Ave? Because these frickin’ bagels are as fresh as they get!!! SO fresh that you can see into the back of the kitchen area these giant vats of which they kneed the fresh dough for these bad boys. 5 stars for the bagels and 5 stars for the cream cheese. Perfect consistency and texture. I had the lox spread and my mom had the chive cream cheese so I got to sample both. Pure bagel bliss. Minus one star for the continuous feed on the TV of their featured episode on Chicago’s Best. Yeah we get it, the show is lame and so is Britney Payton. I would rather have seen some private footage of them making these awesome bagels in the back. I will be back to try the sandwiches b/c the deli items looked equally as fresh and appetizing. Plus any sandwich they put in between one of their delicious bagels is bound to be a home run!!! I’d also like to buy a bag of bagel or bialy chips the next time I visit as well!

I stopped in here after seeing them featured on tv and ordered the nova lox bagel sandwich which I was very impressed with. Tasted fresh, bagel was super fresh and service was wonderful(friendly and fast). I also picked up a black and white cookie to remind me of bagel joints in NY. Didn’t disappoint! We will be back!

If you’re looking for a Jewish style deli, this is not the place, keep looking. They’re like a «pretend» Jewish deli. The menu has all the right things, but the quality and portion size are not there. Ordered a hot pastrami sandwich, the clerk handed me the sandwich and said it was a hot Pastrami sandwich, but as you’ve guessed by now, it was stone cold. Obviously it was never hot. Brought it to the clerk’s attention; only to be told it was my fault. When I pointed out she said it was hot and that so happens to be what I ordered, she ignored me. At least they have the New York attitude down right, too bad they don’t have the quality to back it up. So after taking my cold pastrami sandwich back to work with me and micro-waving it to get it hot, I realized that even hot, the pastrami is low quality, dry, not very tasty and chewy. The rye bread is supermarket quality, nothing special. First time I’ve ever thrown pastrami away, instead of taking what’s left over home for another meal. Bet old Harold never made such a poor quality sandwich with rude service 30 years ago.
