I was very excited to try this after hearing of the gluten free menu. They do offer alot of gf options and have a very good menu. They should update the menus, note spicy foods, and have clear descriptions. The mac n cheese was like soup and too much corn. Also the fish tacos were extremely spicy and that wasn’t noted on the menu. The scallops and bacon were good. Overall I was disappointed with the food, the service was fine, and the décor could be updated to look nicer.

I took my husband here for his birthday last night. The meal was delicious. We had the Mexican corn, mussels, Mac n cheese, crab cakes and the piyaya. They even comp’d our dessert since it was his birthday! Yum! Service was awesome too! The two bartenders were super attentive and helpful. The draft beer menu was very impressive. Just too bad I couldn’t drink since I’m prego. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

It looks great from the outside, but once you get in the place it looks like a thrift store. Laminated menus and expensive food don’t really work well. The food was meh. We got a random assortment of dishes, none of them were really all that good. The pasta in the Mac and cheese was overcooked, mushy and didn’t taste that great all around. I thought the place would have a more wide variety of dishes from other countries, but it ultimately was just Asian, American and Mexican. The service was kind of slow on a Tuesday night. It seemed like the waitress had too many tables for herself, but she was very nice. It is highly unlikely that we will be back. I think they would do better if they introduced some middle eastern, Indian or some other food types.

I’ve been to Passport on three different occasions now, and like it’s sister establishment the Fat Cat(in Quincy), Passport delivers a consistent, quality dining experience. My only complaint is that I can’t decide if the«Duck Two Ways» at Passport is equal to or greater than the duck at the Beehive in South Boston. I’ll let the great philosophical foodies of our time be the ones to ponder and reflect on upon this important dilemma. The tuna nachos have just the right amount of kick and are fresh and flavorful. And last, but certainly not least, both my companions and my own cocktail were perfectly portioned and prepared. The«global traveler» ambiance is unique, warm, and inviting, and our server was very personable and attentive. I will be returning to Passport again soon. Be sure to check them out. You’ll be glad you did.

Our first visit to Passport had the makings of disappointment after we received our first dish, however, each successive dish got better and, in the end, it redeemed itself. First, we really enjoyed their cocktails. I ordered the Carmen Sandiego(Tequila Cabeza with fresh lime, watermelon, agave and muddled Serrano pepper). At first, I was unsure about the flavor combo, but it grew on me. I could have taken a little more heat, but other than that, I enjoyed it. My husband ordered the Hayride(Bourbon, Amaro, chai, beer simple syrup and nutmeg). He said it was awesome and I took his word for it as I’m not a bourbon drinker. As we had never been to Passport before, we decided to order one dish to start and see how it was before we committed to the meal. So we ordered the Mac’n’Cheese with Corn and Bacon. This is a hard one for me. The flavors are all there and they are spot on… but the consistency of the dish was soup. You couldn’t serve it, you could barely get it onto your plate to eat and it was just not what you expect for a mac’n’cheese casserole. We talked it over … and decided that the flavors were there so we might as well try a couple other things because if we left after the mac’n’cheese…we wouldn’t come back. So onward we go. My husband ordered a pork tostada and I ordered the tuna nachos. To share, we went with the artisan cheese plate. The tostada was not really a tostada as it was not deep fried. He got a mix of pork and veggies on a tortilla. I didn’t try it, but he said that the flavors were great and he enjoyed it, but he didn’t remember ordering a soft taco! The tuna nachos are absolutely divine. Five crispy tortilla chips, each topped with fresh tuna, seaweed salad and wasabi aioli. I housed this dish. It was the highlight of my evening and hands down the dish I would recommend ordering above all others. The artisan cheese plate was pretty tasty. It featured cotija cheese with pickled watermelon rind, brie with truffle honey and Great Hills bleu cheese with pickled onions. The cheeses were all very good. The truffle honey was a little overwhelming(I’m not sure if they make it in-house, but if they do, it could benefit from a little less truffle), but I still ate it. I’m usually not a fan of bleu cheese, but this particular one was very good. The waiter we had was very kind and looked like he might have been pulling double-duty behind the bar as well. All in all, we left happy and full.

I loved this restaurant! We got a fish sandwich and crab cake BLT. They were delicious and very generous servings. The prices are average. The bread they give you when you sit down is amazingly good! I they have a good selection of beers and wines. I would recommend to anyone looking for fresh seafood. Very good!

The décor has parts of it which are very well done(the bathrooms are gorgeous) and yet the carpet seems old and ratty. The prices are very reasonable. The cocktails were delicious and only $ 7 and $ 8. We both had the squash coconut soup and we were licking our plates. We shared the seasonal mussel special with chorizo and we loved the sauce so much we asked for more yummy focaccia for dipping. The fish tacos were very nice also– huge chunks of well seasoned fish. The Mexican corn was a little odd as it was on the cob with shredded cheese and fried wonton strips balancing on the top. It was tasty but awkward to eat without making a mess. It would have been a five star review except for I think they need to do something about the smell of cleaning solution that hit us when we sat down, and could benefit from a new carpet.

Hey, so I’ve been here before and thought meh, 3 stars but why 4 now? Yes, proceed with caution because you can have an exceptional experience or a mediocre one depending on what you order(for realz!). After carefully reading Unilocal reviews, I ordered the following and it’s tried, true and tested. If you’re familiar with Fat Cat’s Martinis, they do them like they do it there. Oh so plentiful and oh so fresh and yummy! Onto the food: Tortellini: still not sure what the filling was and its not very descriptive in the menu. My best guess was it must’ve been butternut squash? Good but not great. Fish croquettes: do yourself a favor and order these! Crispy on the outside but not overpowering on the fried batter. Even parts true filling, salty cod and creamy aioli dip to make this utterly satisfying. Tuna nachos: Going with Passport’s international theme, this dish is a great Asian fusion dish if you like Japanese. Highly recommended! Overall, great place to come to locally but I’m torn! I’m a Fat Cat lovah!

Passport looks so glamorous from outside. I should have left it at that — inside, it’s a little outdated and could use some sprucing up. The rug is really worn, and I we sat in what is the only booth — near the kitchen entrance — which looks quite romantic. Once sitting in that booth, the back of the booth has a good amount of dust on it — which was near eye level, seeing that is just not a good way to start out a meal. I have to say that the service was great. The host and server were both prompt, kind and overall I would say that it was pretty flawless service. That being said, we went to Passport for their Gluten Free Menu, which is quite extensive online. My plus one has celiac disease — this isn’t just a preference. We were so happy to see all the GF options on the menu when we looked online, we decided ahead of time on several dishes we were excited to try: on the Duck Confit Cassoulet, Mac & Cheese w/Corn & Bacon, Cajun Shrimp & Grits and the Scallop Risotto. All these items are(still) listed on their website. When we sat down to review the GF menu, they said they had new GF menu, but it hasn’t been updated yet to show what they are currently offering. Our server said she would edit the menu to reflect the current GF offerings, which turned out to be a menu with more than half of the GF options crossed off in pencil(no new dishes added); not one of the items we had planned on going for were available. We landed on the following GF items: Warm olives — no complaints, pretty straightforward, good olives. Scallops with Candied Bacon — was just ok, but not spectacular, which I feel like it should have been considering we are eating two of the best foods ever. The scallops were overcooked for my liking and a bit tough on the edges — not seared quite right. Tomato, Basil, Mozz plate — was the highlight, very fresh and delish basil EVOO combo. Lemon Cod — Fish was so dry! it was very tough around the edges — just cooked poorly. The lemon was mild and barely there, and the rice that came with it was bland — I think it was supposed to be risotto, but it was lacking flavor. Overall, I just wouldn’t be able to go back. We were so disappointed about the«new» GF menu, their website is really a misrepresentation of what they offer. Then the food we did have continued the disappointment. While I do realize that it may take some time to update online menus– it has been over a month since our trip to Passport, and the menu still lists all the GF options that they did not have available.

The service was great but I was so disappointed with the food. We ordered the muscles which I typically order at every restaurant and I could not eat them — they were over cooked and completely lacked taste. The waitress was lovely and took them off the bill. I did not like my Mahi Mahi tacos either or the bacon Mac & cheese but I didn’t want to spend the night complaining. Really wanted to like this place since I live so close but I won’t go back.

Great cocktail list if you’re into trying fun and creative cocktails. I had a tasty red sangria. I didn’t check out the wine list but plan on doing so next time. Wonderful place to go if you’re with a friend or two and you want to sample a few different items and share. Tuna nachos were amazing. The wasabi cream drizzle gave me life. Also loved the pirogues. I plan on returning very soon!

I had heard great stuff about Passport since its opening. Last Saturday I went in on a date and it delivered 100%. Immediately greeted and sat at a two top in the dinning room, one can’t help but notice the«travel» décor. It really holds up. The menu is incredible, separated into different sized dishes. Our waiter, Rob, was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Went over the menu after hearing it was my first time, gave recommendations and what he would personally get, which I appreciated. Gave us enough time in between our sets of orders. He does a great job. Ask for him. Beer Carpaccio — the best raw roast beef you’ll ever have. That might be completely inaccurate but that’s what I’m calling it. Tuna Nachos — great presentation and awesome flavor. Big chunks of ahi kids. Mac and Cheese — quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. You just have to try it. And I know my Mac and cheese. This is a must have at Passport. Short rib bolognese — one of the better reviewed dishes at Passport that I read about prior to coming and for good reason. Thick, full of short rib and extremely flavorful. Would rival an authentic Italian place. Duck confit — rich, flavorful and a great price for a solid duck dish. The bar has an amazing selection of drags. Mostly craft brews, some of which really made me surprised that they had. Awesome whiskey selection and Rob also customized a cocktail for me. So I was a pain, but the bar delivered. Overall, I had a great first experience with Passport and definitely will be coming back for other dishes and dessert.

Went there with a friend after hearing rave reviews. I’m a fan of Fat Cat in Quincy, and these are the same owners. The food was good but definitely overpriced. The reviewer who spoke about the charcuterie plate was totally right — delicious meat but teeny, tiny pieces. The Tuna Nachos were my favorite. It was tuna sashimi on a wonton triangle, drizzled with spicy wasabi sauce and some seaweed. There were about 6 – 8 pieces in an order. I wanted to order 10 more of these. The beef carpaccio was my second favorite, although it was really salty. Fish tacos were good but very small. They were wrapped up like taquitos and it was just a thin stick of fish inside — nothing else. The mac n cheese was very good, but felt very heavy. I’m a mac n cheese fangirl but I could only eat a few bites. Same with the shrimp toast. It had a nice flavor but was way too greasy. I also had the scallops and bacon, which isn’t what you’d expect. The scallops were in a bed of mashed corn and apple cider vinegar, with some french fries and two tiny squares of bacon. Tasty and different, but wouldn’t order again. The waitstaff was excellent. Great service all around, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Every time I drive by it’s crowded, so get there early. Great selection of beer, and some yummy(and strong!) cocktails. I’d definitely come here again but it’s really rough on the wallet for the portions you’re getting.

Good location and hostesses, the staff was OK. 1. The Thai-Pumpkin Coconut soup was very good. 2. The Hushpuppies with Cayenne honey butter. The 1st batch had a very hard crust with bland butter. The returned the food and later was surprised with a fresh batch, what I should have had in the first place. 3. The Fish taco with cilantro cream, Chipotle — Avocado aioli had no flavor even with the condiments. 4. The Mac n cheese w/corn and bacon was super rich(not in a good way)! It was dripping in butter and something else I couldn’t identify.

Went to passport the other evening and was truly blown away with the menu choices. An array of different flavor profiles was impressive. Decent pricing for a great quality dishes. I was drinking draft beer, but everyone else I had dined with got delicious drink concoctions. The bartenders really knew their craft. It is really a small space, so make sure you come early. We arrived at 5pm at the bar when the restaurant was empty, it soon filled up to capacity within a half hour.

I came here because of the 4 star Unilocal review and the great looking menu. Oh how Unilocal has let me down. I was able to sample 5 dishes and they ranged from terrible to okay. The menu looks fantastic but the taste, quality, and portion leaves a lot to be desired. Don’t be fooled by the eclectic looking menu. Bad Charcuterie: the meats are literally nickel sizes. 14 $ for a few pieces of nickel size meats. Fish taco: Literally 2 piece of fish stick in a tortilla. The same frozen fish sticks you get from the supermarket freezer with very little flavor. Okay Short rib bolognese: portion size was decent, however the dish was overly salty, even for me who likes things on the more salty side. Octopus in tomato sauce: Chewy but decent. Jamaican pork tostada: Basically a pulled pork taco with pickled carrots. Taste good, but 8 $ for 1 pork taco is pricey. Service was fine but food is just not good. Bottom line: Don’t be fooled by the menu, the food is from bad to decent at best.

Finally got to get my Passport stamped at this small plates joint. We came early in the evening before the weekend crowd had filled in. The bar looked cozy and well-stocked, but we opted for a table in the dining room as we were celebrating our anniversary. Loved the ambiance, the little details from the Moroccan tea cups that held votives, the awesome mural on the back wall, suitcase accents and globes really drove the theme home. The only negative was sitting by the window because it was quite chilly. Our waitress, Jackie was truly a gem. She was full of suggestions, but wasn’t overbearing, and pre-bussed our little table like a pro. Her service was spot on, and helped make this a great experience. The menu is laminated like a placemat, and I liked it because we just kept the small plates coming! We started with a carafe of sangria, which was one of the few things I didn’t love. It was dry with cinnamon and just not enough fruit. The menu is divided up into Teasers, Small bites, Small plates and Shares. We ended up getting about 8 little plates and skipped the entrée section. We started with the breadbasket which was complimentary. and amazing! Rosemary Foccacia bread with some of the best hummus I’ve ever had! The Olives, warm and delicious with thyme and garlic. Delicious tortellini, house made with an amazing pumpkin filling and a coconut broth. So good, I wish we got a second order! Shrimp toast was just okay for me, but my boyfriend liked it. Empanada had a beef filling, so I had to opt out since I don’t eat red meat. Fish Tacos were good, but just a basic beer battered fish in a tortilla with salsa, guac and sour cream. The following is my top 3 plates: 3. MAC and CHEESE– wow. I had seen this mac on Phantom Gourmet and I knew I had to try it even though I don’t eat bacon. I made an anniversary exception. It was like a bowl of cheese and corn chowder. Rich, delicious, salty and umami. had to wrap this bad boy up. but as a mac and cheese lover it was up there with the best macs of all time! 2. CRABCAKES– Perfectly seared crab cakes. The spicy remalaude sauce was the perfect companion to these craby little darlings. Wow, one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. 1. JAPANESESEAFOODSALAD– OMG this salad was amazing! After all the heavy bites, this salad was a bright, light treat! Crab, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds. SOMUCHYUM on this plate! I basically took it over and ate every last bite. Good portion size for $ 12 too. For desert on Jackie’s recommendation we had the Churros. These were the lightest and fluffiest I’ve ever tried. Came with Caramel sauce, fresh whip and a spicy chocolate sauce. All in all, a truly great experience. Love the global small plate concept and glad good olé Weymo has an interesting little gem like this tucked away in Weymouth Landing. Thanks Passport, you rock!

Its a great idea to open a tapas place in the South Shore. The place is pretty small which means limited seating. Fortunately, there was not a wait when we arrived(Friday evening). The menu offering suits their name well — as they strive to offer cuisines from Asian to Latin flair. However, I wished they describe the dishes a bit. The menus are printed on placemats with names of the dishes without any description of the ingredients and cooking methods. For folks that have not been exposed to multi-cultural cuisines — you’d be asking lots of questions. Rest assured — the servers are well trained on the menu items — so ask away. We ordered the following: 1. Hushpuppies(fried corn bread — comes in 3 small balls — taste exactly what it is) 2. Curry Mussels(deshelled and generous portion — great curry sauce — my fave of all the dishes that we’d ordered) 3. Oysters in mignonette —(2 raw oysters topped with mignonette sauce — generally prefer sauce on side) 4. Seafood Paella — not your traditional paella — fresh seafood loaded with tomato sauce over overcooked/burnt rice. Not exactly what I’m used to and can’t say I like the PassPort’s version much. 5. Truffle fries(special request since we saw it with someone’s steak) — very thinly sliced potatoes with minimal hints of truffle oil Note — you have to ask for bread basket(they don’t offer it even when you’d ordered your entrees). Overall — I commend the place for its offering but there is definitely room for improvement.
