Sogno Coffee House

Been here several times and they roast their own espresso daily. It’s family run and they couldn’t be nicer if they tried.
Interestingly enough Starbucks is down the street from them and this place has plenty of customers regardless.
Personally I’d rather support a local, family owned place over a chain any day as long as they make a great product and service.
So my suggestion go have a bit of pastry and a nice espresso or whatever u like and enjoy.

Love this place. Havent been able to stop going since discovering it. Friendly staff. Delicous/​Unique cakes. And coffee and crepes are perfect. Id reccomend their chai latte and any crêpe with nutella! Lol

An awesome neighborhood family coffee house. Crepes are so darn good. I always get a savory crêpe, a sweet crêpe and a hot chocolate. Ingredients are fresh and the bakery items are pretty big. This is a great place to get that rustic feel of an old world coffee house.

A little delayed in my review but better late than never! Came here for breakfast on St. Patrick’s Day before headed to work… I needed a peaceful moment with something sweet and delicious to get me through the crazy day ahead of me! When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter — I never pass up a moment of friendly chit-​chat, even if I am starving! So if you’re looking for a welcoming, community-​focused place for brunch/​lunch/​dessert, you can already know this is the right place!
Anyway, I finally decided on the Bergen St. Crêpe (which was a hard decision, so many option!) Turns out they were waiting on their strawberry delivery, but that was fine because the strawberries were there 10 min later and I had my crêpe in no time :)
The atmosphere is no louder than your typical coffee shop/​café but I loved how welcoming and friendly everyone was. I honestly had the most delightful time reading and eating my crêpe that, if it weren’t for work, I might have just stayed there all day. I had another nice conversation about the book I was reading with one of the guys working there and then headed out! Sogno is unfortunately a little bit out of my way so I haven’t had the chance to go back again but I’ve been dying to do so… whether for another crêpe or to check out their dinner menu! I really can’t wait to visit again!

This place make crepes. And they make them wonderfully. The only reason they didn’t get a five star review is because of seating. It’s a small place and people seem to linger long after they finish. Not their fault people are comfortable. Secondly, where I sat the music was a bit loud. But not so loud that I would complain.
About the crepes… I had the French Fav. It’s a sweet crêpe that is filled with pear, Brie and honey. I have had this twice now and enjoyed it both times. One guest had the Fairview. It was filled with Apple compote and had cinnamon and sugar. It was enjoyed. Side note; I thought they used way too much cinnamon. See picture.
Another guest had I think was the Original. It was filled with lemon, honey, butter and sugar. It was perfect. The last guest had the Ranchero Juavos. Avacado, pepper jack cheese, salsa and eggs stuffed this crêpe. It was enjoyed.
As far as presentation I think they could soo a little better by adding some kind of herb for decoration. I.e. A sprig of mint or Rosemary would really brighten the plate.
The crepes start off at $ 8.00 and go up.

This place was fantastic.
Everything you get is large so feel free to split it. (even the cookies) Consider this your warning.
Let me walk you through this glorious experience.
First we walk in and notice its a little tight and a little empty… it was close to closing time so that has to be the only reason this place is ever empty.
We walk up to the register grab a menu and are kindly greeted by the young lady behind the counter. She couldn’t be happier to hear this was the first time my girlfriend and I were eating these desserts. She gave us some time to search the menu for the perfect dessert to end our evening.
We finally come to a decision and I get a crêpe with bananas, peanut butter and honey, my girlfriend had strawberrys added to hers. I also got a giant peanut butter cup cookie (I really like peanut butter). This is the only part that I was «eh» about. These crepes are definitely made for one person BUT after a good dinner it should have been suggested to split one crêpe or leave out the cookie.
The only thing I like more than peanut butter at a time like this is a LARGE glass of cold milk and that is exactly what I got. It was borderline like sticking a straw straight into the gallon and letting me drink as needed. I couldn’t be happier.
The cookie I munched on while we waited for our crepes to come out. Soft, chewy peanut buttery deliciousness. The crepes come out and they are simple and delicious. Lots of fresh fruit inside mixed with the peanut butter and honey. They honey did a good job of balancing out the richness of the peanut butter.
The both of us did a pretty good job but opted for eating all the fruit, we just couldn’t get the whole crêpe down.
We washed it all down with the milk and headed to the register to pay. Now I figured this is gourmet stuff here. I figured between the 2 crepes the giant cookie and the gallon of milk we should have been around $ 30 to my surprise it was more like $ 20.
Needless to say, you should get dessert here if you are in the area. Nothing but pleasant people fill the staff. The desserts are delicious. Nothing is spared. Indulge in the glorious peanut buttery excess that is Sogno Coffee House.

Coffee nirvana! I’ve never eaten the crepes but my kids love them. Couldn’t ask for a nicer staff, plus the roast their own coffee!

Best place for Crepes!!! The staff goes beyond there call of duty. I never see an upset customer complain about any crêpe.

Songno is a wonderful coffee/​crêpe business. Definitely one of the best cafes in Bergen County. Whenever I’m in Westwood, I always make sure to stop by even if it is just for a single cup of coffee.
The crepes are absolutely delicious! I tried the Bergen which I believe is one of the savory ones. It was really good and the portions they give you are filling! Along with the Crêpe I got an Americano which complemented the crêpe very well.
Another thing I love about this place is the staff. They’re the nicest people! I’ve never had one negative experience at Sogno and I highly recommend you stop by for some delicious crepes and coffee.

Sogno Coffee House is a wonderful family owned business in the heart of downtown Westwood and hands down the best café in Bergen County. However, that might be a biased statement. I have Celiac Disease which makes eating out very difficult due to the risk of cross contamination and dishonesty by certain businesses. Whenever I go into Sogno, it feels as if I am being welcomed into someone’s home, staff is extremely quick, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about their products.
Their crepes are to die for and they sanitize all cooking equipment to ensure there is no cross-​contamination of gluten for their glutard patrons. Although I haven’t been able to try much of their made-​in-​house desserts, I can only imagine how delicious they are. Their coffee is superb — I am a huge iced mocha aficionado. All can be enjoyed in their quaint dining room with table service if dining in.
I highly recommend this place to anyone. If any dietary accommodations need to be made Sogno staff will go above and beyond for you. Just don’t follow them on Instagram, or else you will be enamored and constantly starving by their mouthwatering posts!

I frequent coffee shops all over New Jersey and I’m always looking for an excuse to stop at Sogno. The crepes are wonderful and the owner and staff could not be any more friendly. The coffee is great, too.
I’ve had a couple of issues with the wifi and the place isn’t all that spacious, but I love everything else about Songno so much that I still have to give it five stars.

Went to Westwood for an errand at the local photo shop and a quick lunch. Had a craving for a coffee and something sweet, so decided to try Sogno. The shop owner is a cute couple that are very friendly! We ordered iced coffee and one of the crumbcakes — perfect in every way, more crumbs and moist yet fluffy golden cake. Coffee was decent but the crumbcake, heavenly! They also had cheesecake, some interesting brownie concoction and an assortment of other delicious pastries.
There was seating in the restaurant area as well as by the window and along the wall of the bakery/​café. We sat near the front door on a set of bar stools. Only issue was my knee kept hitting the side of the counter in a very uncomfortable, unavoidable manner. They have a clean bathroom and the entire store was mostly dust free. Prices were very reasonable for the product and service provided. It’s located in the heart of the downtown area and walking distance from the train station.

A great local coffee house with a huge selection of desserts and crepes. They’re coffee beans are delivered to the café right from the port from their Roaster, where everything is then packaged for sale or prepared for beverages. You cannot get more fresh than that.
If I am ever nearby, this is a must-​go. I am looking forward to eating at Café Anello next door, which occupies the other ½ of their space, as well whenever I can get a reservation!

My favorite place to stop for a quick bite to eat. The staff is very kind and great at what they do. I absolutely love that it is a family owned and run business — it adds to its charm. It also makes the whole dining experience there very pleasurable. There is no substitute for kindness. Sogno is a very cute café and the perfect stop for people with a sweet tooth. There are many options for both savory and sweet crepes along with other menu items such as wraps/​salad/​cupcakes/​pies/​cakes/​macarons. The drinks are delicious as well. The red velvet hot chocolate is to die for.
I highly suggest the following crepes: Broadway (prosciutto, mozzarella, sun-​dried tomatoes, pesto, and balsamic), Jersey Shore (Taylor ham, eggs, your choice of cheese), Bergen Street (Nutella, strawberries, banana).

If you are in the Westwood area, I highly recommend to stop by this cute café, they specialize in crepes and hot beverages. With that said, I ordered a hot chocolate that was perfectly made, not too sweet or watery, just perfect. I love me some crepes so I built my own. I chose goat cheese, spinach, onions, mushrooms and pesto sauce. This thin layer of beauty was absolutely phenomenal! Everything tasted so fresh, it was loaded with ingredients, the crêpe was perfectly soft and crispy at the same time. It was folded in a way that didn’t require you to sit down and enjoy (but I did) if you’re on the go, this would be a perfect meal to eat in the car. I was stuffed but it was worth every bite and penny.
Staff is very nice and welcoming. Menu is pretty large so choose wisely, but prices are reasonable. There’s plenty of seating and offer free WiFi. I absolutely fell in love with this place, the quality, atmosphere and service will have this place running for many years to come.

When I drove into Westwood for the first time I saw Sogno across the street and thought «that looks like the kind of place I need to try.» We’ll try it I did and love it I do. A coffee shop with beverages abounding, taste bud tantalizing crepes, and desserts that Willy Wonka could hardly dream of, Sogno goes from better to best as you taste and learn more about it.
This isn’t just a mom and pop shop. This is a mom, pop, daughter, son-​in-​law, grandma shop. I met them all, and they’re all fabulous whether in individual conversation or when interacting with each other.
I didn’t try the coffee (trying to cut back on caffeine) but I got to see the roaster they use, custom ordered from Italy to roast their own beans. That has to promise a delicious cup! Also added to my «need to try list» are the stacked brownies. Yes — exactly what you’re thinking. Two brownies stacked upon each other with frosting fusing each layer. Done and done.
I did try a crêpe, the Sogno Skinny to be exact, filled with egg whites, spinach, mushrooms and my choice of feta cheese. I am thrilled, ecstatic, overjoyed… Finally a place in the NY/​NJ area that has replicated the crêpe batter recipe used on the streets of Paris. No really — they decided to serve crepes because of the daughter and son-in-law’s experience eating them in France on their honeymoon. The filling was very generous, and I truthfully got two light meals out of it. Did I mention that produce comes from a local farm just a few miles away? Yea — that kind of fresh. I cannot wait to try the «Society Men» a Nutella and banana crêpe which is my personal favorite.
There are a few tables and a counter offering seating; however, during daytime hours when the adjoining restaurant, Café Anello, is closed, Sogno customers are welcome to overflow and use the seating (an equally inviting Italian area with warm woods and good lighting). I camped out for a few hours emailing, and loved chatting with the Anello and Sogno staff in turn.
I may need to move to Westwood just so I can eat, drink, and spend free moments here more often.

The best local café around! Plus crepes! The coffee and espresso is always crisp and never burnt. The staff is friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond to make your experience the best it can be.
Space is the only flaw– it is very small, and in times when both Café Anello and Sogno are busy I could see it being too loud and not as enjoyable as a larger café with more room to sit and relax.

My husband and I were very hungry for Crepes. If you are looking to have a good breakfast in a relaxing atmosphere, come to this place for breakfast or brunch.
I have ordered the Skinny Crêpe and it was outstanding. You could taste real ingredients with no additives. Their Cappuccino is excellent as well.
We have yet to eat at Café Anello, which opens for dinner and is under one roof. I have heard great reviews about it as well. We just have to make a reservation in advance because the seating is limited and gets booked quickly.

Update: After visiting Sogno many more times, I would say this is hands down one of the most awesome coffee shops I’ve been to. The service is fantastic, the selection of drinks and baked goods is unreal, and the food I tried was great as well. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Really awesome spot and I highly recommend checking it out.

Kind of in love with this place. First of all, the staff is really great and nice and friendly. I think the place is run by a family and you can just feel the warmth. The coffee was so good. I ordered an iced latte with soy milk but they only had almond milk which I actually prefer but don’t usually ask for since so few places have it. It was the best latte I’ve had in a while and I highly recommend it.
I walked in intending to only get coffee but could not resist ordering a crêpe as that is their specialty. I got a smoked salmon crêpe with just the salmon (no cream cheese or capers). It was delicious and had a ton of salmon inside. This wasn’t the thinly sliced smoked salmon you normally find. It was more like a thin salmon fillet and was excellent. Not sure if they smoke it themselves but it definitely tasted fresh.
They have a really great selection of pastries and other stuff as well though I didn’t try anything. Pretty sure this is one of those places where everything on the menu is great.
Tip: they do have their own parking lot in the back but if there are no spots, park in the municipal lot a little further down but also behind the shop. You can walk and cut across the parking lot that says «tenant parking» and walk in between the shops and you’ll be right at the coffee shop. That was a terrible description but it should make sense when you see it
