I made an appointment in August of 2015 for February of 2016 I was told that it was a $ 70 down payment non-​refundable and if I brought in cash today of the procedure I get $ 60 off well after my procedure was done I was informed that no they didn’t tell me that it was only 10% but the thing is I called two weeks before my appointment and specifically asked the owner if it was still the deal that they quoted me and she said absolutely so when I got in there it was a different story my initial brows did not turn out the way they should have went back in for a touch-​up in June her attitude was a little bit better because they’re the first time was horrible she was rude and she rushed me out of there now I just posted something on her Instagram asking her a question and she completely deleted all my questions and blocked me so what does that say about her I’m really upset about this seeing that she doesn’t stand by her word for one and the only reason I went back for the touch up is I didn’t want to go to somebody else and pay more money for $ 100 touch up that you know I signed a paper to have done there so I don’t like the fact that she completely blocked me and then blocked all my comments but would comment to me on Instagram as if I’m the only one that has the problem and nobody else has this problem will look what I can see from these reviews I’m not the only one that has the problem with what she says and does not follow through with what she says and her attitude also so yes I’m extremely upset so if you want to go in there and your thick skin and you know basically want to take or deal with her attitude and I say go for it but you know don’t make any comments on something that she can delete where is Unilocal she can’t she also said to me that I could have refused service if I did not get quoted the right price will let me tell you when you go in there she starts doing your brows and you pay after the fact so I was prepared to only pay what she quoted me and that’s not what I ended up having to pay after all not to mention If I refused my deposit I would not have gotten back. And when I called to clarify the arriagments ahead of time she said she changes the deals weekly but if she told me 60 off then that’s what I would get and she didn’t do it.

I’m totally loving my brows and it hasn’t even been a full 24 hrs. Like a few others, I’ve been following Sharon for awhile on IG, and finally mustered up the courage to make an appointment. Not going to lie, but I became very nervous as the day was nearing. Things kept popping into my head like, «what if I don’t like how she draws them,» «what if she accidentally messes up,» and «omg I’m going to have to live with this forever or until it fades.» And I actually had a nightmare, lol!
So, on the day of my appointment, I was very scared. Met Sharon and immediately had my guard up. Sharon drew her shape and I looked in the mirror, shrugged, and said I didn’t like it. Because it’s hard to accept a shape that we’re not use to. Cause come on girls, we’ve all been drawing our eyebrows in a certain shape for X amount of years and we are so use to the way we draw it. Keep in mind, that the way we draw it, isn’t always nice, it’s just that we got use to it and our brain has tricked our eyes into thinking it is nice.
Note: Sharon knows face and knows eyebrows, so what she draws for you definitely makes you look better and it’s the eyebrow that is best suited for your face. Sorry, but we just gotta accept that some times our face (mine in this case) does not match that sexy slim high arch that I initially wanted and been obsessing over. However, she did take into consideration and made slight changes to suit my taste, but kept the overall shape that she felt was best suited for me.
Here’s an important trick: Take selfies! Take tons and tons of selfies from every angle. Pictures do not lie and it’s exactly how others will see you. And guess what? Sharon’s drawing looked far better than my own drawing and I’ve always thought I had my brows on point. Boy was I totally wrong!
After getting confirmation from my mom, husband, and my gut… I knew this was the right decision. I was still nervous, but deep down inside, I knew she was the best and I’ve done my research… I’m OCD, lol.
Well girls, let me tell you… I’m super happy and I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else.

This review is long overdue and I’m sorry I didn’t post it back in December which could have potentially saved someone else the heartache of experiencing this woman’s second class attitude and lack of professionalism.
So, for my 30^th birthday present my best friend booked an appointment for her and I to get our eyebrows done by Sharon over six months ago. Our appointment was scheduled for tomorrow December 15^th. When we called to make the appointment back in May her assistant quoted us $ 270 with a $ 70 deposit for each of us. As both my best friend and I live in San Diego and our appointment was made 6 months in advance, we took careful notes as to how much the whole thing was going to cost us, deposit info, as well as the cancellation policy. We received an email receipt for the deposits and directions to the spa.
The day before our appointment my best friend called to verify our appointment for 11 AM & 1 PM, only to be told that the brows were actually going to cost $ 450!!! UMMMM Sharon told us that she would do them for $ 390 as a «courtesy» for the «misunderstanding». That «courtesy» is $ 120 more than we were quoted by her assistant. She goes on to say that we must have misheard her and said that «she is standing right next to her assistant every single time she makes an appointment to make sure that the price quote is correct»…
Odd.
So, this mis-​quoting thing happens so often that she needs to hover over her assistant each time she speaks to a new client to ensure she’s offering the correct price?
My best friend and I have been obsessing over this lady’s Instagram for the last six months, excitedly waiting for this day to arrive. Should have taken The time to come on to Unilocal to read the reviews about this business owners lack of professionalism. Sharon had the audacity to threaten to not return the $ 140 deposit that my best friend put down as SHE would be losing out on money if she could not fill our appointments!
I’m sorry, but I don’t feel that a customer should be penalized for canceling an appointment when the price they were quoted changes after booking! That’s Just BAD BUSINESS. I totally get the comments about this business owner being a «Diva». As someone who works in the beauty industry and interacts with clients on a daily basis, I can’t stress the importance of an empathetic and customer oriented attitude. There was no apology or sense that she even gave a shit. She just wanted her money.
You’re not the only one missing out on money, Sharon. We both took time off from work to drive up to LA for this. Your customer service skills and attitude are very unprofessional.
AVOID THIS BUSINESS — not worth your money or time. I work in the beauty industry and I can tell you that there are plenty of other people who offer this service who are reasonably priced and care about their client base/aren’t preoccupied with their next dollar. More and more spas are beginning to offer this service, And soon there will be so many options that people won’t have to deal with this type of bad business/​bad owner crap.
If I were you, I would pay attention to your reviews and client experience Sharon and not just brush them off. I’m sorry I ever showed anyone else your page or recommended your business, it won’t happen again.

Ok, first, let me tell you how I feel about my eyebrows. I LOVE THEM!!! ALL thanks to the sweetest, lovely Sharon for everything! I followed her on Instagram for about 6 months before deciding to make the move and let me tell you it was all worth it. Sharon is honest and tells you her best opinion on your brows. From a girl whos eyebrow weren’t on fleek, I can finally say, this girls eyebrows are on fleek! I couldn’t be anymore happier choosing her to do my brows. I just got my brows done by Sharon this past week and she was amazing! I showed her a picture of how I wanted my eyebrows to look and she told me that my face shape wouldn’t look good with those brows but she drew them on me anyway so I could see. She was right, it did not fit my face structure so I told her to shape them however she thinks would look good for my facial structure. I loved what she drew and she numbed my eyebrows before tattooing them, and I didn’t feel a thing. I actually fell asleep for awhile, until she started microblading. Sharon picked the color of my brows and I am very happy with how they turned out. The 5 month wait was so worth it because now I can get ready so much faster and the boyfriend is happy too. The healing process was not bad, my eyebrows were dark for a couple days and when they started peeling it wasn’t even noticeable. I was still able to go out with my friends. They are completely healed now and I love my new brows!

a VERY late post. So much energy wasted into dealing with this lady’s attitude. Apparently there are already multiple reviews about the same NEGATIVE experience I had with Sharon. So to save a lengthy post and to cut things short here is how my experience was.
1. Eager excited phone call to set up an appointment.
2. 2^nd phone call I inquired about the email of instructions I did not get.
ANGRY, condescending, RUDE response. pretty much indirectly said WAIT for it.
3. Followed up a few days before my actual appointment asking about instructions for the appointment.
and guess what. She rudely told me I should have followed up sooner. Well I did!
She’s manipulative and just has the worst attitude. Maybe too prideful or arrogant I don’t know but I didn’t want someone so angry to touch my face with needles. So I ditched the appointment. Filed a dispute to get my down payment back. And went to someone else who was cheaper and still had a good reputation (Lisa Le/​Brow Theory).

Giving Sharon ⁵⁄₅ stars this time instead of ³⁄₅ because she did what I wanted, she did it herself, and she wasn’t a hag about it.
So prior to my visit for my touch up, I had uneven eye brows for almost 7 months!!! And I didn’t have a HUGE problem with them because make up does hide everything! But… I finally could not take drawing in my eye brows anymore because it kind of defeats the purpose of getting them tattooed right? So I made the appointment a few months back to finally get my brows touched up! My appointment was at 1pm but I showed up early because I know that basically my appointment would be longer because of the situation I had, calling making an appointment then rescheduling like ⁷⁄₈ times! But I finally got in the shop to see Sharon. Regardless! If I thought my eye brows weren’t up to par, I still didn’t choose another brow artist because I know Sharon is THE BEST out there.
The experience I had with Sharon was still a phenomenal one, she made me feel very comfortable and talked to me while she was tattooing my eye brows. She numbed my brows each once on each side and I basically laid there and almost fell asleep because of how comfortable I felt. When we were talking about my eye brows, I told her what I wanted and asked advice regarding microblading. Yes the microblading is super natural but I already have actual eye brow hairs, so it would be pointless for me to get the microblading it would just make my eye brows seem more bushy than they actually are. BUSHY IS A NO GO FOR ME.
AGAIN, Sharon was not pressuring me to do anything I didn’t want to do, she did exactly what I wanted, and she was very appeasing about it. And through the entire session, Sharon was not being a «bitch.» She was just being herself which I like. I’m not trying to sound like a kiss ass but everything I say is literally true! I can understand why people think Sharon’s a bitch. But it takes one to know, if you ladies know what I mean. A lot of people say Sharon’s a bitch and she’s not a people person, but to me, she’s like a person you have to have an «acquiring taste» for. If that makes any sense. I love Sharon and she absolutely did a fantastic job on my eye brows!!! I literally cannot get over my brows and cannot stop looking at them.

I can’t imagine how it feels to be someone who had eyebrows to someone who didn’t and now has perfectly shaped eyebrows after Sharon’s work. A large large amount of my friends have gone to Sharon and have said nothing but great things about her so coming into her salon, I really felt at ease with my choice of brow artist. The reason why I’m giving Sharon ³⁄₅ stars is because upon my arrival, I thought that due to a first set of eye brows back in October, Sharon would have been able to do both sides of my eyebrow. And the only thing that upsets is me that her assistant Hung was the one who filled in my left eye brow while Sharon did my right eye brow. Although Hung is a really sweet and talkative guy, the outcome of my left eyebrow is semi thicker than my right brow and the shape of my left eyebrow is semi straight compared the work Sharon did on my right eye brow. BUT I cannot lie that since I’ve gotten my eye brows done, my life has been a lot easier waking up with eye brows already drawn in. I also missed my appointment because of work and could not reschedule a touch up because her prices have gone up… Her prices are kind of expensive for people who are really low maintenance. But the quality of the work does make up for it.
Overall: I really do love and appreciate the work that Sharon does but I feel that if she did both eye brows, both eyebrows would have came out more symmetrical and if I was able to reschedule my touch without a price change, my experiences with Spa By Mode would’ve been better.

Let me start off by saying that all the negative reviews on Unilocal are 100% ACCURATE.
I went in initially because I have been wanting to get my eyebrows done for a while and haven’t had the courage. After losing my eyebrows completely to alopecia, I decided why the heck not and went for it.
My first impression was that the place was a little difficult to find but, the store itself was nice and cozy. (As cute as it was, am I the only one that thought it was weird she had her dog there?) Sharon’s assistant had me fill out paperwork and once I was done, I had to wait a while for Sharon to get off the phone. While making conversation, I made a comment about how hard it was to find her store. She explained that they moved to the back because it’s quieter. She also commented that she «paid her dues,» whatever that’s suppose to mean. Not knowing how these things work, I went in with my eyebrows already done to show her how I normally do my eyebrows. I also showed her pictures of my eyebrows from before when I had hair. She went on to draw my eyebrows without even really taking into consideration what I showed her. This was when I began to notice her attitude. I told her I was unsure of the brow that she drew because it was so thick and higher than my eyebrows normally are. I tried to show her my picture again and she became exasperated. I noticed the two eyebrows were not even and when I kept telling her, she had a huge attitude about it and would reluctantly change it. Each time I asked her to change it, she got more and more annoyed and made me feel uncomfortable and unsure. And when it is your first time doing this type of thing, let me tell you, it does not make you feel good.
After a good while of going back and forth about the shape of my eyebrows, she told me I had two minutes or so to decide or she wouldn’t do my eyebrows because she had another person coming in. Honestly, she reminded me of a sullen child who isn’t getting her way. We ended up agreeing on a shape and got down to the tattooing. She had numbing crème, so it didn’t hurt. I ended up liking my initial end result so no harm there. After everything was done, we scheduled a follow up appt, she gave me a goody bag that had like 2 or 3 small candy or chocolate (I don’t remember), a sample a&d type crème, and something else. Obviously not memorable and not worth it. She seemed to want me to leave already that she almost forgot to make me pay.
Once my eyebrows healed, let’s just say they look so different. One is higher than the other and one is dark than the other. Am I happy that I got them done? Hell yes. Not having to do my eyebrows in the morning is great. Am I happy with Sharon and her horrible customer service? NO.
Fast forward to now. I got an email saying my appt had been cancelled??? I called the store and they said they have a new program so it probably happened by accident. I told them I wanted to keep my appt. End call. Got a call back not too long after from the assistant asking me if I actually wanted to keep my appt since I wrote a review on Square. Yes I still do. End call. Got a call today from Sharon herself. She wanted to clear the air and see why I would want to come back even after what I wrote on Square. I tried to explain that I wanted to give her a second chance since her work is not bad, but I got the feeling she only called to get an excuse to refuse service to me, which is exactly what she did.
I wanted to wait to write this review because I wanted to give her another chance for my touch up, but after her calling me which ended in her refusing to see me again… Well here we are. I thought by giving her some constructive criticism that she would be more open or even nicer, but apparently that wasn’t possible. Good customer service goes a long way.
I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Just came back today to get my touch up and had a really good experience. My eyebrows still looked perfect from the initial procedure but we decided to touch up a little bit since I wanted a warmer tone. Can’t wait to see how it looks once it’s fully healed again! Getting my eyebrows done by Sharon was one of the best decisions. I was really hesitant at first because I didn’t want something so permanent on my face but after looking at her Instagram pictures and reading reviews for months, I decided to take the plunge since the way Sharon does eyebrows look so natural. I am in love with my eyebrows and definitely don’t regret getting a tattoo on my face!

Sorry. I don’t normally hashtag anything unless it’s in jest, but these really do apply to Sharon/​SpaByMode. And I know hashtags don’t work on Unilocal.
I know Sharon gets a lot of crap for her «attitude» and demeanor. But she is genuinely sweet and nice, and she. Knows. Brows. Like someone said in a review, I think a lot of people perceive her «attitude» as arrogance. I also think a lot of people have a different idea of what «nice» is. Her job is to make your brows beautiful; she’s not your therapist. You’re not paying her to be your therapist, you’re paying her to make your brows beautiful, which she does.
Our first initial visit, we spent about half the time drawing on the brows I would like, and she will not move ahead until you like them. The second half is the actual procedure. She did the outline while her assistant helped fill them in. The first part is the most painful, but she does use a numbing cream which helps immensely. I also took aspirin, half an hour beforehand, as directed. Filling of the brows was relatively soothing.
I went in today for my touch up, and it went perfect. I noticed one of the eyebrows could have used a little bit more arch, and so did she. It was a smooth touch up session and I couldn’t ask for anything else. She even bought me a Thai iced tea with boba. So sweet.
As someone who drew their brows (I now cringe when I look at pictures of myself with pre-​Sharon brows) a certain way, it was hard for me at first, to picture the brows she drew on at our first appointment. But that was the problem, you have to come in with OPEN eyes and an OPEN mind about your eyebrows. Otherwise, why are you going to her in the first place?
Thank you, Sharon! I love them so much and can’t wait for this touch up to heal. It is so worth being able to wake up and shave off 15 minutes of my morning.

My sister and friends had gotten their eyebrows done by Sharon and theirs turned out amazing.
I don’t wear a lot of makeup and was scared dramatic eyebrows would make me look mean or too «unnatural» on me. So it took me two years to finally get brave enough to get my eyebrows done. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life. It sounds really funny but having beautifully shaped eyebrows changed my life and my confidence. They do not look «unnatural» and I do not look mean. In fact everyone tells me I look younger!!!
Sharon is such a talented eyebrow artist! I would never trust my eyebrows to anyone else! Her eyebrow shapes are perfect!

No doubt like everyone says, Sharon is really great at shaping your brows. But let me tell you that she only posts the good results on Instagram.
The reason she gets 3 stars is because Sharon shaped my brows. BUT she had her assistant do my left brow where she did my right. Now ones darker than the other and the tail end of my left brow doesn’t have the natural look like my right one does. It’s MUCH darker.
My advice, if she tells her assistant to work on your brows, say no and make sure she does both your brows. After all, you’re paying HER good money to do your brows. Not for someone who’s second best and to f them up like they did mine. This is on your face forever! I’m a lost cause, but you can save yourself! Lol

I thought that maybe it was me but now coming on here to review I see that I am not alone in feeling that Sharon needs an attitude/​personality adjustment. I’m going to save time and just get to the point in saying that after speaking to her this morning to try and give her more of my money for a touch up and experiencing her hollering at her assistant helping me on the phone «What.she does not get it». Oh I get it. Taking my business else where. She may know eyebrows but she does not know a etiquette. Go on girl roll your eyes.

Ok I just wanted to say before I ran into Sharon’s Instagram a year ago, I told myself I would never ever tattoo my eyebrows. Seeing my mom, relatives and all the old school eyebrow tattoos and how the color changes as years go by, I vowed to never tattoo them. Until one day I stumbled across Sharon’s Instagram page and totally fell in love. I was hesitating for a good while. I would always go on it and see new pictures as days and months went by. Then suddenly one day I knew I had to do it. I mean look at her work, one look and I’m sure you want it too.
I contemplated and told myself I draw them in every goddamn day, why don’t I make it easier on myself and just get them tattooed! Plus I had no eyebrows. I mean I did have some but very little and my natural shape cuts short and curls down.
So I booked an appointment last year 2015 and got them done. I am not going to lie, it hurt pretty bad the first time and 6 – 8 weeks when I got them retouched (which I did not have to at all. Sharon even suggested I don’t. But I just like the dark look, so she did as I wished).
And I just went in for my annual retouch on 3÷15÷16, even though they were still perfectly fine. The color did not change at all, it just got a little lighter but like I said, I like mine fairly dark. Went in this time and oh my god. Sharon got a new numbing gel and a new technique with it and let me tell you, IT WORKS! I am not gonna lie the first time and the retouch last year was so painful to me, I don’t know why. But this time, I swear I could’ve fell asleep. As Sharon was tattooing I kept telling her how I couldn’t believe how no pain I was in. Back then it was so painful that I would be scared to come back (but of course it’s worth the pain!) But this time, omg I would do it every week if I had to. It’s painless!
So yes, Sharon is an eyebrow queen and I know there are many eyebrow artists out there. But I’m telling you, Sharon is the best. I love the color, shape and everything.

This post is long overdue! My first time going to Sharon was Last year in September. I was so nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. Let me tell you… she did not disappoint! She transformed by eyebrows and gave them a whole new shape. I feel my new eyebrows fit my face much better now!
I recently went to her this past Monday and had my touch up. Sharon and I both agreed to use a warmer tone on my touch up and I love them! She did such an amazing job on them and i received so many compliments on my new brows. I have referred several people to her and they all love her work! She’s amazing! Thank you Sharon! Xoxo

I’ve been going to Sharon for my brow needs for years and have never been disappointed. She did magic with my sparse, no shape, overtweezed, wouldn’t grow back brows. She’s really passionate about making your brows sexy or how urban dictionary defines being «on fleek» haha recently went in for my touchup:) love «wake up and makeup» and she’s always so sweet. Totally worth the drive up from San Diego every year or so. Can’t wait to try the hair stroke service next time. PS. Loving the new location behind tapioca express.

I have been following Sharon’s instagram (@spabymode) for awhile now and although I admired her work, I could just never get myself to get something tattooed on my face! It wasn’t until after my cousin got her eyebrows done by Sharon that totally changed my mind. They looked amazing and I was so jealous that she could just wake up, add some eye makeup, and go on with her day! I was lucky enough to secure a last minute opening and got an appointment within a week. Her waitlist is currently 6 months long. I paid $ 450 for a new set of eyebrows, with a $ 100 deposit (which is credited towards your payment).
I was super nervous going into my appointment, but Sharon and her assistants made the whole experience very comfortable! She was easy to work with and confident in her skill. She worked with me until we both agreed on the perfect eyebrow shape.
The procedure was quite painful for me, but it varies for everyone. My skin is a bit more sensitive than most people so my eyebrows were super swollen after the initial procedure! It kind of scared me for the first few days cause my eyebrows were so thick and dark. But sure enough, in a week my eyebrows faded and became thinner just like Sharon said. They look very natural and the shape/​color is perfect.
Sharon is a true artist and I would honestly never be able to trust anyone else to tattoo my face. She is confident in her skill and really knows what she is doing. I am a really indecisive person and getting something permanent on the face is a HUGE deal. Now I just wake up, put on some mascara, and I’m good to go! I highlyyyy recommend Sharon if you’re thinking about semi-​permenant makeup. She will do a great job GUARANTEED!

My pageant sister got her brows done right before our pageant, and I could not get over how amazing they were. She referred me to Sharon at Spa by Mode, and I had to wait 6 months for an appointment! I thought that was crazy, but there’s a reason why she’s a hot commodity– she’s just that good!
Sharon and Vivian were super pleasant and friendly, chit chatting and entertaining me and my poor bored boyfriend during the whole visit. My appointment lasted 2 hours– of which 1 hour was purely Sharon designing my brows to my liking. First, she requested I not show her any pictures [yet], and let her design one eyebrow with what she thinks is best for my face. Then I gave her critique for what I prefer. I’m pretty obsessive compulsive about my brows and my face, you see. So Sharon fixed my first brow to how I liked it… except, I forgot what her style looked like. lol! So she drew her style on one side, with my style on the other. THIS IS WHERE SH*T GETS CRAZY. I liked Sharon’s original brow drawing better! It just fits my face better! Sorry for all the trouble Sharon! You really are master!
Her numbing cream is heaven sent. I almost didn’t feel a thing during the length of the tattoo. And at the end, she gave me a little goodie bag with A&D cream to put on the brows for the first week, and a little surprise goodie.
It’s been a few days, and my brows immediately looked amazing. I keep getting compliments at work, and out and about with complete strangers telling me how ‘on fleek’ my brows are! Thank you SO much Spa by Mode!!!
(I’ve seen some of the reviews, where people have commented that she isn’t very nice to alterations– I don’t see it. She was sweet as pie to me and explained everything thoroughly. If she doesn’t like the style you choose, and declines to tattoo it demi-​permanently on your face, that’s her prerogative. It would RUIN her business if she tatted ugly brows on anyone; she needs to be proud of her work! She is still an artist!)
