I think I found my new favorite place…
Okay, so I lost my retainer. I was reluctant on replacing it because I kept telling myself I will find it!
Few days started passing, I notice my bottom row shifting, and of course I freaked out and called every single orthodontist and they were closed on Thursday? Thursday??? Why Thursday? Why not close on a Tuesday? CraZy people.
So I landed on this place… And my first thought «omg it’s on bolsa» no offense to all the bolsa shops, but my first thought is they’re gonna speak only Vietnamese and it’s gonna be really dirty. Anyways, I just crossed my fingers and made the call. The lady that answered spoke perfect English so I’m thinking okay okay this is a good sign. I told her my situation and she told me to come in and quoted me 150.
When I parked in the plaza I was a little lost. Since the office is facing the street and you won’t see it until you walk out towards the street. Located right next to snow monster cause you know, dentist visits and sweets go hand in hand. (Joke people, relax)
Anyways, I walk in and Wowowow? Am I still in bolsa? Everything is super clean, neat, and modern! Loved it already.
The receptionist told me the doctor would see me soon but come in and fill out paper work. As soon as I walked in, all the dentist hygienist or assistants were so nice and welcoming. It felt so nice! Not the typical Vietnamese vibe. Like they don’t gaf about you, just your money vibe.
Alright moving on, the orthodontist, mister Douglas, came into the room with me and greeted me, asked me what I needed, and told me he’ll be able to replace my retainer and also mold it to help my teeth go back into place… And hearing this made me feel like a million bucks! I really was hoping to fix the shifting or else my braces would have been a waste of money!
Then after the consultation, one of the assistant molded my teeth, and I will be coming back this coming Saturday, to see how the retainer comes along. Also, they told if I bring back in my top retainer, they’ll tighten it for me! So sweet.
Fingers cross, hope they can get my teeth back to being next to perfect! Pleaseeee!

No place will always serve all customers 100% satisfied perfectly, but I believe that can happen to Dr Douglas’ office. I had been with 2 other orthodontists before and I was happy with them. But Especially For what I experienced with Dr Douglas’ for 2 years (now I just got my braces off). That’s wonderful. Everything and everyone are nice, professional, enthusiastic and very very helpful.
I highly recommend everyone who would like to get braces to have perfect smile.

2^nd time with braces here. Love this place, it’s clean, nice and friendly. Dr. Nguyen addressed my concerns. Will definitely thank him when I see him next week for my appt.

Dr Douglas is talented and good at what he does. He sees braces as a work of art. But I cannot say the same for his staff and I wish his staff was as detail oriented and polite as Dr. Nguyen is.
When I met with Dr Nguyen for my consultation, it was estimated that my braces would be on for 2.5 to 3.5 years. May 2015 would be my third year having these things on and Dr Nguyen stated I had about 9 more months, which is past the estimated time frame (almost 4 years).
Hey, I get that Dr Nguyen is busy and he has a lot of clients. But it’s time for him to expand and move to a different location. Or do something about the patient load. He is so busy that I (along with other patients) have to see him every 1.5−2 months rather than every month. He is always overbooked. It’s no wonder I’ll be having my braces for almost 4 years.
The time frame for my braces was 2.5−3.5 years, and I thought I would have my braces on for 3.5 years of there were complications or something. But nope. So excuse me if I’m upset that it’s taking much longer than planned.
Whenever I book my next appointment at the front desk, the ladies at the front act like its my fault. They’re rude and act as if I’m in the wrong. Sorry if it’s wrong for me to want an appointment earlier in less 2 months.
If you’re planning to get braces and you want an appointment once a month like normal patients, I would say go elsewhere. Dr Nguyen is a professional, but his staff and his limited pair of hands is unable to meet the needs of patients.

Dr Douglas is a gifted orthodontist. I was a patient back in high school. The experience was so positive that it motivated me to become an orthodontist. He takes great pride in his work and is very meticulous and caring.

This is a review for the consultation only. I’ve went to 4 different orthodontists and Dr. Douglas Nguyen is my favorite. He was one of the most caring and thorough Doctor out of the four. During my consultation, he actually took his time to examine my mouth and offered recommendations and then explained why. He didn’t gave me an exact price, but his round off seemed to be the average.

They are so organized, clean, caring, etc. They offer you their best. Best orthodontists ever ! Love there work

I came here a few years ago and have gotten lots of compliments from a few dentists ive been to! They all ask who did my braces and when I say Dr. Douglas, they’d say, «of course. should’ve known. He’s one of the better ones»
I really don’t remember how much we paid but it couldn’t have been that much because we’re bargain hunters. I’d recommend coming in here for a consultation at least!
Be careful, it seems like there are a bunch of dentists around the OC area that aren’t allowed to do braces but still do them!

Didn’t anyone here bother to mention they don’t take patients over 40 yo. The lady at the front said that older patients have teeth that are harder to move/​shift and sent me off. I’ve gone to many ortho consults this is the first time I’ve heard of this. But that’s the doctors’ rules and prerogatives. My biggest gripe is they should have posted this outside their office and spare me the embarrassment and time wasted. Interestingly, I was referred to here by one of his DDS friend, Fred Lee.

My brother and sister got their braces done here. They try their best to work around your finances and they also have a payment plan to suit you. Make an appointment for consultation.

It’s been six years since I’ve had my braces taken off by Dr. Douglas. I love my teeth soooo sooo much! They’re absolutely perfect!
He’s a total perfectionist but he does such a beautiful job. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I missed coming here… can you believe that? I do, the place was always clean and happy.

This is the most bullshit place to be.
So many problems happens here.
They don’t accommodate working people.
So people do not have the ability to take time off of work and because they don’t work in the weekend and there last appointment is at 5, this is pretty disappointing.
Many time I called in and request to have a weekend appointment and they say they don’t schedule weekend but there are time they do. It’s just up to the owner and they don’t even let us know.
They don’t even tell me that I was scheduled on he weekend but there computer shows it.
This is the last time I come here.
They make you wait even if you have an appointment or not.
Another thing is that if you don’t make two appointments they black list you and hold it against on the next visit. (Even due to urgency and it was 2012)
Even if you make an appointment, with this blacklist they put you at the bottom of the list. 2 hr wait!
Good luck to those that goes here. There are other way better ppl than here that does a good job taking care of there ppl.

Very nice and gentle orthodontist who took good care of my teeth! Gave me his honest opinion and was correct!
He was very honest and only wants perfection for you. What more can you ask for?

Dr. Douglas is a perfectionist. He would inspect your teeth one angle and another to upwards of an hour (sometimes) before he goes on and tightens or adjusts your braces.
My older sister was a patient of his before I came in for braces, and he did a great job with her teeth. After she and I got our braces off, people have been complimenting our smiles and how perfect our teeth were. We even recommended our older sister to bring our niece in and our niece is now a patient of his also!
On top of the top-​notch expertise and quality of work, his staff are absolutely the best. Kind, funny, informative, and understanding ladies they have always been professional. He is the best orthodontist in town and his team of hygienist are reliable and hard-​working. I know several friends who even drive down from Los Angeles or San Jose just to get work done with him.

***Regarding payments: I don’t remember how much my mother paid but it was around $ 2000 back in 2004 when I was quoted. They were really accommodating with payments especially when we accidentally missed payments due to emergency. I guess if you’re nice to the staff and you communicate to them your concerns they will take care of you. Plus, if you have cancellations, let them know 24 hours in advance like they ask you to.

I have been looking for a new ortho and made an appointment with Dr. Douglas because I thought I could get Invisalign. For those of you who are looking, he has stopped doing Invisalign so only call for regular braces.
I called ahead of time and the only appointment he had was a few weeks away so I decided to just go with it. The receptionist I spoke to was understanding, knowledgable and it was an easy appointment to make. The only misunderstanding was the Invisalign part. I think I mentioned that I was not sure whether or not to fix my retainers or get braces/​Invisalign. I think there was a misunderstanding there but it was most likely my fault.
I came into the office right on time and a few seconds after I check in, I was called in. They put me into the consultation room in the center of the office and I got to meet the Dr. I have met him before long ago when I came with my friend during a consultation so I knew that he was nice, but I was really blown away by his kindness this time. He apologized for the confusion about the Invisalign and told me the only way to fix my teeth was with braces but still agreed to get my retainers aligned. UHHHH so NICE!
He even offered to clean my retainers with the ultrasonic machine which is something unheard of at my old ortho office. I don’t think anyone has even thought about the kind gesture. I waited and watched the dental assistant scrub the crap out of my almost decade old retainers and she handed them back to me with a smile.
I don’t know how he is with regular clients but I didn’t pay anything for the consultation and he was soooooo nice to me knowing that I was probably not going to get regular braces. He seems like someone who genuinely cares about his patients and office.
If I were to get regular braces, I would go here without a doubt. He keeps your braces on longer than another orthodontists would but that’s because he really wants your smile to be perfect. I wish I had gone here for my first round of braces because more time was probably what my teeth needed back then. For those of you who are getting braces for the first time, you should at least come here for a consultation. Look into at least two places before you commit!!! The biggest mistake I made was going to one and settling. Consultations are free and the way you are treated will tell you a lot about what the next 2 – 4 years will look like.

I absolutely love Dr. Douglas’s orthodontic office. I came in scared, thinking that I’d go in once a month, probably talk to nobody, and was hoping to get the experience over as soon as possible. Once I got there and met the staff, I was actually happy to come in for my monthly visits. The staff is so friendly and so easy to talk to. Sometimes we’d even hum along to the son on the radio while they worked on my teeth! Everybody there is so much fun to be around, and the second you walk in you’re greeted with a very welcoming smile. I’m so glad that I got my braces at Dr. Douglas’s orthodontic office. I recommend it to anybody and everybody looking to get braces!

Without a doubt the best staff there is out there. Everyone treats you like family and of course has the biggest smiles here. You feel welcomed as if you’re right at home with your own family. The interior design is unmatched. There is a waiting room in the front entrance as well as another guest area midway through the office. The place is very clean like a model home. Dr. Douglas gives you his utmost best. Nothing is rushed here. While other offices see client after client, here at Douglas Braces, each client receives exceptional time with the Dr. to assure you that you’re getting the best evaulation there is. I highly recommend Douglas Braces. You will not be disappointed!

Dr Nguyen is the best orthodontist I have ever seen in my life. He explained everything for me for the first free consultation. He doesn’t mind either you choose his office or not, he is working with profeional style. My family has 3 sisters and they are very happy with their teeth. I had consultation with 4 orthodontist and I chose him for my sister. The time wearing the braces is very important and I understand that why the price of Dr Nguyen always is a little bit higher than other offices. If you calculate how many months you come to his office to adjust the levels of baraces, you would compare the price is high or not. The time is safe for patients, 4 years or 5 years no more charge. My older sister done her brace and very statisfied with her clear retainer. Dr Nguyen always wants the best service for patient. Would recommend to everyone that cares about the quality than the price. Thank you Dr Nguyen. I love all of your staff from front desk and the back.

There’s a reason why it’s so hard or it takes too long to get an appointment with him. It’s simply because he is the best.
My whole family goes to him for our braces (my aunt’s a dentist and she wouldn’t leave us only) plus my aunt/​dentist always refers patients to him whenever she can because he is so easy to work with.
I think the general price range for braces would be $ 2000? not positive but around there. Excellent service. The front desk people are so funny and awesome. LOVE them! also the people in the back.
They are very efficient with their work and they do an amazing job. Down side is that they never tell you the right time you’ll get them off. I was suppose to get it off 1 ½ to 2 years. I got it off 2 ½ years but i guess that’s a good thing since he’s a perfectionist.
