A Shutter in Time Photography

Melody and her team did an amazing job with the photography services they provided! Melody was referred to me through a close friend and I originally booked her to do the engagement photos for me and my now husband. We were so impressed with how our engagement session went that we booked her to do our wedding as well. We paid for 8 hours of photography on the day of, our own customized wedding album, a personalized USB and all the rights to our photos. Her team did a great job on the day of and captured so many precious moments. One of the photos they took of my wedding was even featured on the bridal expo postcard for the venue we used for our ceremony. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Fun, affordable, creative and friendly. Thank you Melody and staff :)

Needed to update our family photo. Had been a couple years since the last time we had it done, and I wanted to have an update for Christmas cards. I bought a Groupon and Melody was able to fit me in very quickly!
We had our shoot at Seal Beach Pier. She did a fabulous job capturing the personalities of my 6 year old twins, our family, and my husband and I.
The hardest part… Picking which pictures to purchase. They were all fabulous! We ended up with 13 photos that I cannot wait to hang on my walls and show to our family and friends.
I would not hesitate to recommend Melody to anyone looking to capture wonderful memories! Thank you!!!

Melody and her assistant took the photos for our wedding and we could not be happier with them! She was a joy to work with from the beginning contact emails and phone calls to the wedding night itself. Her assistant was great too!
Melody was ON POINT with emails. She always got back to me surprisingly quickly which I REALLY appreciated as there is so much to organize with weddings, the last thing you want is a vendor who doesn’t get back to you!
Melody takes AMAZING PHOTOS! You can see this in all the posted photos. She really has a way of capturing these little romantic moments that don’t seem posed at all. I never thought my fiancé and I could look so in love!
Melody is SO EASY TO WORK WITH! My now husband is a guy’s guy. The last thing he wants to do is pose for photos and kiss me in public lol That has definitely changed after working with Melody! She really helped him to feel comfortable. She just makes it so easy and not awkward! It was actually a lot of fun working with her, I left the engagement shoot (and the photos at the wedding) just thinking OMG that was so much fun! She had my husband rolling around in the ocean and God knows he would never agree to that if it was me asking. But Melody has whatever it is, so into the ocean he went!
Melody is bossy like you want her to be. When we were trying to get photos of my husband’s large and rowdy Italian family, she gave us a look and was like, I can organize this if you want me too, and we were like YES please! And Melody took charge, what what! She didn’t let any of the Italian cousins waste our time. But not in a way that was off putting at all, people listened to her! And thank goodness because organizing that crew was the last thing I wanted to do at that moment :)
Melody is very adaptable. I had pretty much zero in mind for the engagement photos and she gave us all the prompts and suggestions, and little changes that really made the photos come out perfectly. For our wedding, we had more in mind. I sent her photos from the same venue that I liked and she helped me recreate a lot of them on the day of the wedding. Best of all, literally only like a few days before the wedding, I found these amazing photos with sparklers and sent them to Melody. On her own time, she practiced the different photos and figured out all of the logistics. While I was partying away she was setting up the photos and brought my husband and I out for them. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THESE PHOTOS! She is still retouching/​editing the wedding photos but I have no doubt I’ll love them.

Melody is an exceptional photographer. From scheduling, to location choice, to working with all 7 kids and 6 adults (one with mobility issues) to viewing and editing photos, to finding a way to stay within our budget, to the final product… she was helpful, professional, and fun. I will recommend her to any and everyone that needs a photographer. We live in North San Diego County and will continue to use A Shutter In Time rather than our local options.

My wife and I recently married in November of 2014. My wife was incredibly thorough with the details of the wedding and she researched a good number of photographers. We ended up meeting with two of them and after sitting down with Melody and discussing the big event it was clear that she was the photographer we wanted.
Melody exceeded our best expectations and we are so incredibly thankful we hired her to capture our special day. The engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity for us to get to know her and for her to get used to our photographic tastes. On our wedding day she was incredibly organized, professional, and helpful in making sure that each moment was captured at high quality, and after the wedding she was quick to get us the pictures and she even put together an incredible slideshow of some of the best moments.
I still can’t believe everything we got for the price we paid, and if we had to make the selection again I would choose a Shutter in Time in a heartbeat. If you have any doubts just meet with her and look at her beautiful work and you won’t be disappointed. Truly a wonderful experience :)

My husband and I loved working with Melody and her team. She is always on top of things. On our wedding day she knew the pictures we wanted and was able to keep everything in control. I loved working with her, we got many compliments on the pictures she took because they weren’t the boring pictures that are seen often at weddings. She is reasonably priced and true to her word on our agreed contract. If we take photographs again I hope she will be available.

Melody is great! I hired her to do a kid’s holiday party. She got tons of great shots! She is reasonably priced and a pleasure to work with. She did a great job at getting lots of candid shots of the kids as well. Thank you Melody!

I was incredibly pleased with Melody from the first phone call through receiving our gorgeous prints in an adorable gift bag accompanied by personal a thank you card. She was extremely flexible with our changing schedule which was greatly appreciated especially with the short notice we gave her. Being a brand new mom I was nervous and concerned about a million different what ifs but she made the shoot fun, always listening to ideas and input along the way. She had a ton of different options to choose from for the pictures from baskets to fabric and hats. I did a lot of research prior to booking and was so excited that my choice paid off in such a big way. She even came to present a slide show four days after our shoot, delivering above and beyond what we expected from our purchase!

I have to give this lady 1 star omg she charges a lot for your photos, digital n all. First off u think its a good deal for her to come to u n take pictures but after u take the pictures n see them on her site. Omfg… no not worth it. The quality sucks. My phone can take a better picture

Melody is an amazing photographer! She is patient with kids and makes sure she gets the shot that she needs! We did our immediate family photos a few weeks ago and will do the big family next week. Her touch ups are great and every photo is beautiful!

Professional in every sense of the word! My wife and I conducted several months of research to find a photographer to meet our unusual schedule (a Thursday wedding) and budget. From our first meet at a bridal show to our meeting appointment and finally, the wedding day, Melody was an excellent communicator, super flexible and a superhero on the actual day of. She worked within our budget to get us a custom photo package giving us everything we wanted. She helped us organize our wedding timeline to make the most of her on-​site time. The photos? Wow! I’m really glad we went with Melody. She captured amazing scenes, vibrant colors, and made all of the guests and our decorations look great! Everything she promised was delivered on time and so professionally! Things get hectic on the actual wedding day; Melody kept us focused (and in focus!) and gave us a lifetime of memories.

Melody and her assistant was amazing. Melody was so easy to work with and super flexible in working out your schedule and what will work better. She even assisted my bridesmaid tie up my corset style dress that my maid of honor and bridesmaid was completely doing wrong. :) I know that she is very experienced in the industry. Melody is the best photographer that you want on your wedding day. I will definitely be calling her back for all my special photos and highly recommend her!!!

This place is so awesome! The photographer is so helpful in posing you and making you look good. He was the only guy I found that would do a single 8 by 10 portrait for only 50 $! He even gave me a free second 8 by 10!

Melody is so great I’m so pleased with my maternity and newborn pictures. She was so nice and friendly to work with and she made me and my big belly so comfortable! She also sat there and assured me that a screaming baby is normal for the first two hours of our three hour photo shoot. Lol the overall experience was great and I’m so happy with our pictures!

Melody is such a wonderful photographer! She did my engagement session along with DVD, I loved all the pictures. She also made my wedding guestbook, it turned out professional and beautiful. My fiancé and I are happy with those results. She did excellent job! I highly recommend her due to the very reasonable prices. My wife and I could not have asked for anything more than what we received from A Shutter in Time. Melody is amazingly talented and such a pleasure to work with. She captured our wedding perfectly and we are beyond 100% satisfied. A Shutter in Time Photography came highly recommended by our venue for our daughters’ wedding. As it turned out, Melody was an excellent choice. She and her assistant, Melony are both warm and inviting; creating a comfortable environment for photo taking– pulling out the best in everyone. We were extremely surprised and pleased when we first took a glimpse at the final results! Many posed photographs, we consider to be flawless moments captured. It seems to be that one of Melody’s strengths is in posed photographs. When viewing the attached video, notice the beauty of the posed pictures. As well as the posed pictures, the candid pictures are also perfect in that she captured natural moments.
Melody and her staff are extremely professional and their work is amazing. I highly recommend their services.

Melody has been my go to photographer for the past seven years. She has managed my large family of 20 people to my intimate pregnancy pictures and has captured the years of my three children. She is always professional and handles three crazy kids while still getting great shots. She is easy to relate too and always try to achieve the money shot that I always come up with (my four year old in my wedding dress or my newborn on a motorcycle helmet). I would highly recommend her.

I wish I had found Melody in time for my wedding but I found her just in time for the perfect «paper», first anniversary gift. I did a boudoir session with Melody, I had no idea what I was doing and Melody was so creative with all of the poses. She made me feel comfortable and put me in poses that flattered best attributes. We didn’t have alot of time to get this done and she went above and beyond to make sure this album got made in time. She presented me with lots of options for my album and helped me choose what was best for me. My husband loved his surprise gift and my friends that saw the book Melody did were on awe of her work! I highly reccommend Melody because she is professional, experienced, creative and will go above and beyond to make sure you love what you are getting.

Where do I begin?! Melody photographed my grandmothers wedding and we saw the professionalism and how she took control to make sure that every image was captured with perfection and efficiency! We were planning our wedding at that time, we checked out her website and fell in love with all of her photos and her! We called Melody and booked her right away! We had our engagements done at Disneyland and the time she spent getting to know us, our wants, and helping us plan our wedding was so amazing! She took the time to really get to know everything about us and our story of how we met!!! I was blown away! I never thought that our wedding photographer would care as much as we did!!! She gave us helpful hints and ideas to make sure our day was 100% perfect! She got us our pictures super quick and we immediately shared them with family and friends who went BAZERK over them! We purchased our guest book through A Shutter In Time Photography as well, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! We received endless compliments of how it turned out! It took a while to convince my fiancé to purchase the book, but even he was impressed and said it was well worth the money!
Then the big day arrived, she was on time, and did exactly what we had hoped. Took everything we had told her about our vision and made it happen! It was STUNNING! She brought her second shooter with her and they both were so on top of EVERYTHING!!! After the wedding I was somewhat bummed because there were so many things I had wished we captured and requested photos of, things like how the food was presented, just people getting food, and the small exchanges that people were having… The day came where we got all 1000 + images on a USB drive and BAM! SHE CAPTURED EVERY MOMENT!!! The food, the small exchanges, the s’mores… EVERYTHING!!! We now get to relive the day over and over because of the wonderful photography that IS «A Shutter In Time Photography»!!!
She even gave us a little gift with our wedding photos that will be cherished for a lifetime!
There are some things that are worth spending money on, and making sure that you have a top of the line photographer like Melody is one of those thing! At the end of the day, your photos are the only thing you get to keep for that one special day and we have NO regret going with her!!! We have found our photographer for the rest of our lives, catching lasting moments! I didn’t only marry the man of my dreams, but I found a lifelong friend in the process as well!
