Zooza Cafe

Decent coffee shop. Not a very inviting place for a meeting and especially not for posting up to work.

Zooza Café is very small and with a somewhat limited food menu, BUT I really enjoyed the food and the extremely nice service. While we ordered at the counter, they brought the food to us once prepared. I ordered a tuna sandwich on multigrain bread, which was very tasty, fresh, and even organic, which I thoroughly appreciate. My husband ordered the chicken panini sandwich, which he also enjoyed a great deal. Both sandwiches came with a side of organic field greens with balsamic dressing. They have a great selection of coffees, smoothies or pressed juices, to which we only availed ourselves to the iced tea.

I read all the rave reviews and decided to check this place out. Coffee was good but not amazing. Got a vanilla latte with almond milk. My hangup with this place is there was only ONE guy working there in the morning (I’m assuming the owner) and he took about 25 minutes to make our omelette and breakfast sandwich because he was running around doing a bunch of other stuff trying to multitask while making my food — I was also a little bummed to see him MICROWAVING most of the food I ordered. I chose this place as a quick alternative to a sit-​down café because I was on the road and had to be somewhere quickly, and thought this place would be faster. I was wrong.
I DONT quite understand the rave reviews for this place. Microwaved food. And it took almost 30 minutes to make.
I really don’t know why it took so long. I waited beyond a reasonable amount of time for counter-​ordered food (and I was the only one in there, so there really was no excuse) I really wanted to like this place. The only thing positive out of this experience is the man was super friendly. But that’s it.
I will not be back.

I was getting haircut next door, so I saw this nice coffee shop and I said let me try it.
Dear owner why do you even sell latte when u have no clue what it is?!
I asked for a small late, the guy ask me what flavor?! And show me bunch of syrups. And I really don’t mind that part. He gave me a shit load of milk with a shot of espresso. At least if you own a coffee shop learn how to make it.
Regretting to leave a dollar tip. Learn how to make good a latte, message me here and I’ll try it again and will change my review.

Very cute café with a big selection of drinks (coffee, juice, smoothies, etc) and fresh delicious foods~I recommend the grilled chicken panini! :)
Staff is really friendly and owner makes sure you’re well taken care of!

This place could write the book on customer service. Ray is an absolute gem; he was lovely to chat with. Not only did he make a great latte, but he recommended a delicious sandwich. We were sitting outside and he came to check on us multiple times. This is built like a grab-​and-​go type café, but we felt comfortable sitting and chatting with Ray. He made us feel like old friends. I’ll be back for sure!

This place is great! Walked in with a friend and was greeted immediately. The family that owns Zooza is so welcoming and friendly! They made our coffees promptly and with a lot of care. We had fabulous discussions with the owners which led us to keep coming back. Now for the coffee. The coffee is delicious! Probably went there 4 times in one week just for the perfect coffee. Highly recommend this place. Great coffee drinks, great owners, overall great establishment!

Shooting in Thousand Oaks this week, and we wanted to try somewhere local for breakfast, soooooooo freaking HAPPY that we found Zooza Café! This place is amazing, we gone back to back and plan on going the rest of the week. Ray takes really good care of the café, of you, and of the food. We are huuge fans of the oatmeal and egg sandwiches. Going to try the coffee tomorrow! Thanks Ray for running an amazing establishment!

Tiny place. Food was nothing special. They messed up my order. Manager/​proprietor offered to make good, but I did not want more of the blah food.

My favorite place to stop for a cool beverage after a long hike in the Westlake area. Lots of options and warm, wonderful service.

I’m from Washington, so I definitely take my coffee very seriously! I came around 1;30 on a Monday, it was very quiet, I was greeted immediately (a big plus for me, after working in retail for so long I often have to fight the urge to leave when not greeted at a lot of places), they were both very lovely, asked me about myself, and seemed genuinely interested. They are definitely very warm people.
I ordered a Greek salad, which are hit or miss with me, and hey had just prepared one for their cold case so she directed me to it. It was fresh, all the food options seemed to be good quality which isn’t always the case with premade options.
Then my white chocolate latte, HOLY COW! It’s is so good and very reminiscent of the drive by coffee stands that you find everywhere in Washington. Made me feel very nostalgic. I don’t live near here, just happened to be up here, but when I find myself this way again I will definitely be returning!

After reading rave reviews, my co-​worker and I decided to pick-​up lunch here. I ordered a italian panini which comes with a side salad, and a hot mocha latte.
My first impression of the place was, why is it so empty? But, I realize that we went before the lunch rush, so that’s understandable. The girl at the cashier that helped us was obviously new, because Ray, the owner[?] came out and helped her. I didn’t mind the girl needing help, but she was not very friendly. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Well, we all have bad days, but does it hurt to crack a small smile?
The mocha latte came out first. I give it at 3.5÷5. Good, wish it was stronger.
Panini took a long time. I’m eating it right now as I write this review. It’s good, it really is. But, nothing amazing. so, I’m a bit confused about the reviews that talk about great sandwiches and paninis from this café.
I really wanted to like this place. The owner was super nice and sweet, and other people seem to like it. Perhaps I went in with too-​high expectations… but it was just sub par.

Stopped here to pick up lunch on my way to work after a doc appt. This is a family owned establishment and they are SO nice. I got a coffee while I was waiting for my lunch order and it was super yummy. I had a turkey sandwich on gluten free bread and a kale salad to share with a coworker. It was pretty basic café type fare at a good value. All the ingredients were fresh (you know some cafes and restaurants try to give you some sad, half wilted greens — NOT OK!) and the food was good. While I was there several regular customers came in, they were greeted by name and their order was started without them even saying what they wanted. Seems like a sign of a great business to me!

Super cute café tucked away in a strip mall. A cool strip mall. Parking was plentiful. The vibe & ambiance was awesome. Very modern & chic. The passion fruit iced tea wasn’t my favorite, but the menu looked good. I need to try some other things. I liked how there’s outdoor seating. Ray, who I assume is the owner, was very friendly & nice. I love that the café didn’t have that typical coffee smell. The smell that sticks to your clothes & everything that you bring with you.

Man this place is good! It totally hits the spot if your looking for a fresh, healthy lunch. I was in the area and gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised they served fresh pressed juice, so I got the lemon, cayenne, agave water… get it! It’s like the best lemonade with a kick:) I also tried the turkey sandwich with the Gouda cheese-​great flavor combo! I walked out feeling refreshed and good about what I just ate. You can tell the owner cares about nutrition and the importance of choosing good products to use. The décor doesn’t match, there’s three different seating styles but the ambiance was the least of my concerns. When the food is good, I’ll eat standing on a street corner. All in all cute place, fresh food and go to spot to grab a healthy lunch! Go!!!

Cute little café, with the emphasis on little. A juice and coffee shop with a handful of sandwiches and salads. A little disappointed with the tiny amount of choices on the paper menu, but wow — they absolutely won me over with their gracious and friendly service, great prices $ 2 – 3 below where we’ve come to expect, and beautifully large portions.
1. Greek Salad ($ 8.95) — beautifully presented platter of mixed salad, feta, wonderful black and green olives, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, grilled chicken, with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette.
2. Italian Panini ($ 8.95) — huge platter, ½ of a lovely salad and ½ of an Italian Panini on fresh focaccia with thin salami, pepperoni, ham, cheese, onion, and a few other secret stuff that made this sandwich glorious.
With warm and wonderful service by Ray, this little place should be supported by the Unilocal and local community. I felt very welcome and special. You will, too. Try it.

The girl at the counter was very friendly; I just loved her style! She even brought out Ray the owner, to welcome me after taking my order.
I had never been to Zooza before, so I thought I’d try a few different things. I was ordering lunch for 4 and I decided on two paninis and two cold sandwiches, and then a greek salad. My friends and I cut each of the sandwiches into smaller bites to try a bit of each.
I had a sampling of the Italian Panini, the veggie Panini, cold turkey sandwich and a cold chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich was by far my favorite of all.
I’ll definitely be back! Zooza Café is great for a quick healthy lunch! They have breakfast items and coffee too.

I really liked this place. My boyfriend and I stopped here while waiting for an event. The place is family run and it is so clean inside.
We only wanted a little bite to eat to hold us over. We ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich with gluten free bread ($ 1 extra). He had a coffee and I just had their rooibus tea from their selection of tea bags.
The sandwich was good and the tea was good, too. My bf said I must absolutely mention in my review just how great their coffee is. I didn’t have a taste myself but I trust his judgement. The sandwich was pretty small but it came with a little side salad which was nice. The inside of the place is very small but feels nice. I would definitely recommend it!

Coffee, Latte, Mocha’s, Vanilla and Caramel drinks– cold, hot and blended, smoothies, green tea, passion fruit tea, Chai’s and Lemonade. They even have bottled drinks and packaged Salads and sandwich’s in the cold section. I got the blended Mocha and it was so good, I watched her pour a really good cup of coffee into the blender to make my drink, I need to find out what kind of coffee they are using. ;). It’s a very cute place inside, a few tables inside and out and a bar area near the window as well. They just opened this week I think. Great place to meet up with friends for coffee. :))
