Bocaccios

Love this place. Great place to go for lunch or Sunday brunch. The service is great and attentive. The lunch is very good and the desserts special. This is where I treat my friends for birthday lunches. Try to eat outside and get a table overlooking the lake. Prices are reasonable for such a special relaxing lunch.

It was our anniversary and we decided to try a new place with a nice view. We had a 5:30 reservation and arrived on time. We walked up and were greeted by what we guess to be the manager. His first words were, «Can I help you folks?» We let him know of our reservation and he proceeded to confirm without saying anything else. We had a reservation for outside by the lake and he walked us a little more than half way and then stopped and pointed to a table and says, «go ahead and take the table in front,» without seating us and without menus. It definitely was not customer-​focused and appreciative of our business. My husband ordered the clam chowder and the chiliean sea bass. The clam chowder was excellent, but the chilean sea bass was dry. I ordered the pesto ziti with chicken and sundried tomatoes. It was good, but nothing special. One of the wait staff delivered my dish and asked if I wanted parmesan cheese. He cranked what he felt was sufficient and then just walked away without asking if it was enough for me. The restaurant was aware it was our anniversary and after the meal, brought out a dessert for us. One of the wait staff brought it out, put it on the table, and says, «Happy Birthday» and walked away pretty quickly. I looked at him and said, «It’s our anniversary.» And he said, «oh…yea. Sorry.» Then walked away. The wait staff was verry hurried and didn’t take the time with us at all. Our server was Ryan and he was about the only one who was attentive. You would think with how much you are spending, the manager/​owner (?) would be more polite enough to actually welcome and seat us rather than point to our table from a distance and have us guess which one. We won’t be coming back. Spasso in Ventura has great Italian food.

This is a lovely place on a lakeside. Great view, nice setting, friendly stuff, great kitchen. What else is needed to kill the evening with glass of wine and seafood plate?! Stuff makes it really cozy for you (by placing umbrellas to protect from breeze and heaters) to be comfortable and feel like home. Good place for parties too!

Great service and even greater food! Love the atmosphere and just the all around amazing dining experience! Will definitely be coming back

Returned to Bocaccios last weekend after not having been here for 25 years, and I must say that this restaurant has gotten better with age. We came in for my sister’s birthday and had a wonderfully delightful evening. We started the meal with excellent escargot and carpaccio, moved on to a nice wedge salad, then to perfect entrees that included Veal Oscar, Chilean Sea Bass, Salmon and a beautifully cooked steak, all followed by great desert and fine scotch. Oh by the way the view of the lake is sheer perfection as was the service. I will be back very very soon.

Giving this place a 4 for the food, the location and the atmosphere. My boyfriend brought me here for a birthday dinner and it turned out to be the perfect spot! We ordered the crab cakes, which were AMAZING! We also shared the shrimp cocktail and french onion soup, both very good as well! For our entrée we had the Seabass and a chicken pasta. For dessert, they brought a lovely ice cream cake with rum! Would definitely come here again. –1 star for the server not being the most attentive and seemed annoying at times throughout our meal.

Hadn’t been to this restaurant for years and stopped in for lunch yesterday. Service was very inattentive and slow. Drinks were not refilled, requests for butter were made to head waiter multiple times because it was not delivered on first request. Food was bland and lackluster. Beautiful setting on the lake. Next time I will go back to the Landing right next door. Better food, better service, same view.

amazing lamb!!! best one i have tasted. excellent service as well. the restaurant has the perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner. highly recommended.

This place is absolutely one of our favorites. The setting is beautiful, the staff is professional and the food is WONDERFUL! The owner always personally greets us at the table and makes sure we are taken care of, we have a small baby and they always accommodate our stroller with no questions asked! We even had our baby shower here because it was so beautiful to be lakeside. We LOVE Bocaccios!

Ordered lobster bisque and herbed chicken, got food poisoning. Was I not only in a wedding the next day but am pregnant. You can imagine how well that all went.
I’ve called the restaurant three times to let a manager know I got food poisoned and there has not been a manager working at any time I’ve called.
Others that ate with me said the salmon piccata was not good either. Very disappointing food. Nice location on the lake.
