My husband and I decided to try this place on Valentine’s Day. We made reservations at 5:30 and, when we arrived, we were seated right away. The restaurant is small and the ambiance was wonderful. It wasn’t crowded when we got there and even when more people started showing up, I didn’t feel boxed in or anything. It seems that a lot of people that were coming knew the owners/managers. We looked at the menu and we both ordered off of the specialties menu for the holiday. My husband got the pork chop and I got the surf and turf and we split a bowl of clam chowder. The soup was so full of flavor, had a ton of clams in it and wasn’t overrun with potatoes as it is in a lot of places. It was one of the best chowders we had ever had. I’m always afraid of ordering a thick steak because, in the past, chefs hardly ever get it right. This place got it right. I ordered it medium and it came perfectly cooked with butter poached lobster on top of it. The side that it came with was mashed potatoes with green onions mixed in. Everything was perfectly seasoned and it was worth every penny. I noticed that there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table and now I know why. The chefs here know how to season things to perfection! My husband loved his dish as well. For dessert we got the trio of crème brûlée’s. There was a raspberry, coffee and ginger and they were all amazing. My favorite one was the coffee one. My husband also ordered one of their cocktails, It was called the Le Jardin. He isn’t a big drinker, but this one was outstanding. Not too strong and was very different than anything he had had before. Said he would order it again. The service was impeccable. Not only did our waitress check on us several times, but so did the managers. They were walking around making sure that everyone that was there was being tended to and that everything was perfect with their evenings. It was nice to see that kind of dedication to the customers. Looking forward to going back to this place on the next special occasion that arises.

This was our second visit to this restaurant. My husband had six oysters and I had the samosas. He loved the oysters and felt they were better than Lure’s down the street and the samosas were light and crispy For our dinner my husband had the gumbo and I had the lobster pot pie. Oh my, we were both in love with this restaurant. The lobster pot pie was unbelievable! Big sweet chunks of lobster in a sinfully rich sauce. Dessert peanut butter turnovers that were perfect! This is our new go to restaurant.

Overpriced for what it is really, I’d choose Lure over this place any day! Food was overly ambitious and pricey, taste and portion size didn’t live up to the hype. Not bad, just so many other better places to go for fish.

Had my daughter in town for a visit and wanted to try somewhere new. Driven past this place a few times while having lunch in the shopping center and thought I would try it out. My wife, my daughter and I all agreed that the menu reminded us of the old Leila’s in terms of it’s character. We split the fried green tomato’s and the duck egg rolls for appetizers. Both were decent but not great. The egg roll in particular had good flavor(the filling) but the wrapper managed to be both deeply fried and soft at the same time. The lack of crunch made me sad. The entrees were again, decent. My daughter had the fried chicken which had good flavor but also delivered a crust that was both nicely fried but the opposite of crunchy. Perhaps they bread it and let it sit? Not sure but took away from the nice taste of the chicken itself. I had the swordfish with tapenade and polenta. The swordfish was probably three eighth’s thick at best. This is not a «quantity» issue but at the price point($ 29.00) I am looking for thick, meaty fillet and I certainly did not get that. The polenta, was just that, polenta with some bacon stuck in it that delivered little in the way of flavor. The wine selections were fine but the chardonnay was ice cold and so was undrinkable(unless you are like flavored ice water) for quite a while. Service again was ok. Our waitress was reasonably attentive until near the end of the meal when she just disappeared. After waiting almost fifteen minutes she finally popped up to ask about our dessert selections. At that point in time I just wanted to bail out and go home. Thankfully the one service highlight occurred after I dropped my credit card. Someone(not our waitress) grabbed it and processed within 30 seconds of it hitting the table. On the whole I would much rather spend my evening at somewhere like Pearl District where I am paying about the same in regards to the price point but the value delivered is far greater!

Came here for a birthday a couple weeks ago on a Sunday night. Our waiter was friendly & attentive. We had the fresh oysters(yummy BTW), grilled fish and the seabass risotto that was one of the specials — fresh & on the healthier side. My husband also got a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle to blow out. Because he wanted to be incognito, our waiter silently brought out the tiramisu. Quaint & cozy, just the way we like it.

4.5 would be my Star Rating if I could. Tonight, I ate a new category of food I didn’t even know existed: Comfort Seafood, and it’s really Good and Yummy! Seeing it’s so new to me, I have nothing or no where to compare it to, but The Gallery sure made my party of four tonight some very tasty and unique dishes. From our very good cocktails, which I would classify as being way better than«comfort» to our delicious desserts that would absolutely fall into the«comfort» category and everything in between it all worked. Although the menu had more than just seafood, this was indeed a seafood restaurant. We ordered: A Yellow-tail Sashimi that was excellent Black Ink Squid Calamari that was indeed black but I believe not squid ink — Very good Shrimp cocktail — excellent Scottish salmon two ways — Their way — which was at a Very Comfort level Grilled and blackened — which was just very good A roasted seafood dish resembling a chow mein but not chow mein — Fantastic A Vegi entrée — real good Dessert consisted of a Banana egg roll and a peanut butter concoction that was great. Once again, every dish had this lovely comfort food feel, taste and quality. What do I mean by that; at The Gallery the food is(once again) so damn yummy — casual and fun! I wouldn’t use the word«Yummy» describing cuisine at Spago or Providence or Angelini Osteria. Here at The Gallery it’s the perfect description and a compliment. The service, ambience, parking, and dynamic of The Gallery were all super. West Hills is not close to my house, but I wouldn’t give it a second thought to jump in my car, make the drive and have another«Yummy» meal at The Gallery.

Not impressed with the staff at all. I had to ask for water twice and then got an eye roll. Really? Food is ok, nothing to recommend in my opinion. I don’t much care for the strip mall location. I had heard such great things and was excited to go here but I won’t be back.

Wonderful! My friends brought me here for my birthday lunch… what a treat. The energy was good, service was excellent and the food was superb. I had lobster pot pie… which my sister says isn’t on the menu anymore :(The location is fantastic, too(lots to do here!) Looking forward to coming back for dinner and drinks.

Great energy /good vibe. A moderate-size bar with live music(don’t get too excited, one singer-guitarist) — a really nice touch; a little seafood counter, then boom — 3 small segmented rooms for about 20 tables. It’s intimate not a monstrosity. The owner is very nice and accommodating, the son of the former Fin’s restaurant. The order: ======== 1. Golden Hefeweizen($ 6) — perfect. 2. Shrimp *special* Sushi Roll($unk, 5.0 stars) — perfect and so delish! 3. Roasted Brussel Sprouts($ 8, 3.5 stars) — What can be bad with bits of dates and bacon. Problem was, didn’t taste the dates and bacon! 4. Roasted Eggplant($ 8, 4.0 stars) — 3 slivers of eggplant, beautifully done with some type of sauce atop, but the 27 cents worthy of eggplant was far from gold. 5. Oven Roasted Seafood Platter($ 26, 3.0 stars) — Not presented well with overcooked seafood atop of delicious noodles. Mixed review here, probably not to be ordered again. 6. Deconstructed Short Rib Wellington($ 26, 4.5 stars) — A little on the tiny side for the price but very very good. Gravy atop of 3 small biscuits with the tender short rib pieces. 7. Lavender Pound Cake with Lavender Cream($ 10, 5.0 stars) — this is pure heaven. The«hair»: ======== My gf had her plate served to her, and immediately noticed a black hair protruding from it. We called over the first person coming our way, and it was the«Papa». He listened, and took away the plate immediately. Then, 30 seconds later, came back and said it was«weird», and held the hair in his hand, «…but that there are no woman cooks in the kitchen», implying, it was hers. First, the hair was half way under the gravy, so it couldn’t be hers. Second, bringing the hair back to table to show us? Not cool at all, he should know better. Bad Papa. A second plate was brought to the gf «au gratis». Conclusion: ========= Server David was over-the-top pro, fun, and saved the day with the hair incident… calming the waters and very apologetic. I hope this is a misnomer of the way dining here is to be. Benefit of the doubt goes to The Gallery. The menu is filled with interesting things with Italian and a bit of Indian twist, and is a lot larger than expected. So much so, I’ll have to be back several times to get my fill.

We had lunch with friends and were delighted with every aspect of the restaurant. I had the shrimp linguine – it was excellent. My husband had the lobster pot pie and said it was very good. Our waiter, Justin, was friendly, efficient and was just the right person to work at the Gallery. We’ll definitely go back again.

Service was absolutely horrible, and food was subpar compared to other restaurants who have similarly priced dishes. We first walked in, and weren’t greeted for at least 30 seconds, before the hostess came to the terminal(directly in front of us), and instead of greeting us, decided to ignore us for a while(until she was through verifying something on the terminal) only to say 1 second. Then a gentleman came up after we were stuck waiting for the hostess and asked if we have been helped yet, at which point he found a table for us. By that point, the hostess was quick to seat us. Whatever you do, DONOTORDERTHEMULES(which by some tacky reason, some genius decided to name the mules after the restaurant name, «Gallery Mule». No. 1, they were not served in copper cups, No. 2, they were not balanced correctly. They tasted like horrible margaritas. It took ages to get water, our waitress was no where to be found, our apps were served slow. For one of our apps, we ordered Spanish Shrimp, the shrimp was on the verge of being old; they were mushy. The only saving grace were the entrées, where it seems they saved the best shrimp for them. Nonetheless, I still tipped over 20% like I usually do, however, I will not be coming back. If you’re looking for great seafood, I’d recommend LURE, which is only 1 minute away from this place.

Everything was very enjoyable, calamari app and crab cakes excellent but halibut came out bone dry. Server was telepathic, anticipated requests before realized.

The ambiance is clean and trendy. Great Americana menu, good wine and booze list. The food was quite tasty. Everyone at the table had something different to eat and we were all happy with our meal. The staff were all polite and friendly! Would come back here again.

An amazing experience with KIM as our waitress. She is a valuable asset to the restaurant. Seat yourself at the front of restaurant. I have been at the back and it is a bit too loud for my comfort level. Crusted macadamia halibut was fabulous. Everyone in our party loved the food. Martini’s with blue cheese stuffed olives are YUMM!

Every time I come here, the food is amazing, and the service is always top notch. Highly recommend the yellowtail and watermelon, ahi tartar tacos, and lobster bisque! The cocktails are equally unique and delicious. They don’t mess around here, cone out and try it.

One of the best restaurants to come to Westlake Village in a long time. I use to enjoy Mastros, until Landry’s bought them… Once I saw The Gallery menu I wanted to try everything on it in one sitting. The Oysters are some of the best I’ve had. The salads are awesome and if you like fish tacos the Halibut tacos are delicious. Perfect service and food. My new favorite place.

That’s it! Thrown down your napkin. Tina says it was the best burger she ever ate(and she reluctantly gave me a morsel). Halibut tacos are very good. Great service from David. Thank you…

Crab cakes, they were good, until I bit into bitter lemon seeds, twice. Kinda killed it for me. Curry crusted seared ahi tuna, it seemed like the wasabi sauce(a bit too much) and curry crust take away from the flavor of the ahi tuna itself. The bed of pan fried vegetables were good.

My family and I are regulars here. Full disclosure: we love the family owners ALMOST as much as we love the food. Today, we decided to come to celebrate the family favorite, my sister, for her 19th birthday. On the dinner table, we had a collection of oysters, the watermelon yellowtail, and the tuna ceviche to start. The duck breast, salmon, and lobster risotto for dinner. And for dessert we had of course, the peanut butter turnover. While some would say I’m biased, you have not tasted proper seafood and poultry until you have visited The Gallery. And furthermore, you don’t know dessert until you have experienced the wonder that is this peanut butter turnover. Unfortunately, the food is always so delicious that I never take the time to snap a photo. But I hope this picture of the pure joy in my sister’s face proves the magnamity of euphoria that floods the bellies and hearts of everyone who comes here. We love you, The Kassam’s

Exciting new restaurant in Westlake/Calabasas/Agoura, brought to us and this world by the son of the owner of the, also exciting and my favorite but now closed, Buddha Bar restaurant on Agoura Road and Reyes Adobe! Started with oysters, the freshest I’ve had in years, with cocktail sauce kicked up with a dash of horseradish sauce. Great full bar, and one of the few that I can get a Bullet Bourbon on the rocks with an orange squeeze. After seeing a purple drink going to a number of tables, we had to try the Violet Moon martini, an awesome concoction of Ford’s gin, crème de Violette, lemon juice, and a must-taste-and-eat caramelized orange wheel. I’ll be back for another! After the oysters, we had the snow and jumbo lumped crab cakes with Dijon mustard sauce, farm-to-table fresh Asian cashew Caesar salad with delicious but not overwhelming wasabi ginger dressing, and my always-get-when-on-the-menu Gumbo with the freshest ocean-to-table seafood. The farm fresh local jalapeño was a bonus on the Gumbo. We almost skipped but thankfully got the peanut butter chocolate turnover with a scoop of vanilla bean gelato and small mountain of whipped cream. Of course with a latte and cappuccino that came perfectly hot and deep flavored. Our server, Linda, was a consummate professional with honed customer service skill from her years at Fins. She quietly but effectively kept the seemingly new busboys coached to display and execute practiced professional serving skill. The owner himself brought us a missing fork! Highly recommended, for the creative bar and food menu, for the vibrant energy throughout, for the attentive professional service, for the people watching, for the live music, and for good times.
