Tea Room & Farm to Table Dinner; Brunch on Weekends! An older style Victorian home converted into a restaurant makes the perfect spot for a Tea Room. As you pick your pot of tea, included in all tea stands, start with soup or salad and your choice of a variety of; tea sandwiches, mini sweets & of course our amazing English style scones served with house made Clotted Cream & Jams. If you don’t feel like a Tea Stand option order anything on our Tea/​Lunch menu a la carte; Lunch options in addition include: Salads, Quiche & Panini’s.

On Saturday’s & Sunday’s order off our Brunch menu served «Tapas» style. We serve smaller portions giving you a chance to try more than one dish such as French Toast Stuffed w/​Wild berry Cheesecake, Eggs Benedict or Duck Hash!

Dinner is Farm to Table using local farms and markets in NJ, staying American but unique. We only use the freshest product truly impacting the plate and your palate. Chef loves his sweets and it shows in his desserts.

Private rooms available starting at 10 guests. Reserve our Blue Room for your next event which can accommodate up to 24 guests. The perfect space for a Shower, Networking Event, Cocktail Reception, Rehearsal Dinner or next Intimate event. our Yellow Room can hold up too 40, or reserve the entire upstairs, which can accommodate up to 60 guests!

History

Established in 2014.

Started as a Catering company, Chef Anders and co-​owner Jenna opened Mulberry House to open not only a restaurant but expad their catering ideas as well. Both with over 10 years easily in the business, their expertise shine in both the front and back of house. They wanted to bring something different to Westfield, drawing guests over to the other side of the «tracks» given the location of the restaurant is on the other side of South Ave.

I recently had an adorable baby shower here. It was tea party themed with all the tea cakes and little quiches and desserts you would expect at a tea party. The owner was wonderful to work with. I can’t wait to go back to have dinner here with my husband before the baby comes!

Wonderful little place in a converted old home. Always looking for a nice place to take my mother when I visit. We only saw the first floor since she can’t do stairs, but it sounded like there was some kind of party on the second floor. Everything was delicious — probably a good thing I don’t live nearby. Look forward to returning on my next visit.

I had a really great experience here hosting a tea buffet to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The food and the atmosphere were perfect. Everyone at the party agreed that this was a very special place. The owner, Jenna, was welcoming and very easy and responsive to work with from the moment I contacted her. And the staff was friendly and accommodating during our party. The food was really good and there was plenty for the guests to eat.

I attended Mulberry House for a baby sprinkle brunch and found it to be a charming set up in an older (renovates house). They are located on a side street so there’s not a lot of traffic going through the street. For brunch we were served delicious mimosas (I had peach!). Our meal consisted of a simple spinach salad. What followed was an assortment of sandwiches and pastries. Cucumber dill, hoisin ham, tomato basil mozz were just a few of the sandwiches. A quiche, peach scones, chocolate chip scones, and lemon starts rounded out the tiered serving plate. The sandwiches were tasty but I favored the hoisin one. The service was initially fast but the later part kind of slowed down a bit as people were wtg for a while before the cake came out. The set up worked well for a baby sprinkle/​shower and the idea of the older house only added to the charm.

I’ve been here for several occasions and it’s always a nice treat. Since it is a tea house, the servings are small for what you’re paying, but it’s really the experience, right? The chicken sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam are delicious, as were the teas that we tried.
Also, the staff were nice and often refilled our drinks.

A splendid lunch with my daughter. It seems like a cozy house turned into a cozier restaurant. Definitely adorable. And I think, the Tea for Two or Three, is the best option here. It comes with your choices of teas, 3 kinds of sandwiches and 3 kinds of sconce and 3 small sweet treats. Everything is in small portions, but you’ll be full by the time you’re finishing that mini crème brûlée. The sandwiches were all tasty: chicken salad, crab salad, pork hoisin. Sconces were buttery and flaky delicious served warm. We took some home. I would have preferred the tea to be piping hot, but they were still enjoyable. Spiced chai and lavender lemonade were such good choices, I thought. It was a delight finding this place, and so apropos for Easter. Jenna, the one who took care of us was so pleasant. I can’t wait to bring friends over here.

This past weekend, we held my sister’s Bridal Shower Brunch Buffet at Mulberry House and cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was!
Jenna and her team are so sweet, and were great helping with whatever issues came up. They even rolled up their sleeves and helped us the morning of the Shower with packaging party favors and decorating the room. Throughout the Shower, they were extremely courteous with the guests & refilled food when necessary. In terms of planning the Shower, Jenna, the Owner, was incredible! She was extremely accommodating — quickly answering all questions by phone and email, adding menu options that were specially requested, etc.
On top of the team being great, the food is absolutely delicious. We selected the Brunch Buffet Menu, which worked out well, as our guests were able to try a little of everything. The tea selection was wonderful, too. Mulberry House itself, with its warm, brightly-​colored walls, was perfect for a Springtime Bridal Shower.
The team at Mulberry House absolutely added to making this one of the most special days of my sister’s life, so thank you Jenna & team! I highly recommend Mulberry House to everyone — whether you are planning a special event, or just looking for a delicious brunch or dinner!

Was told I needed a reservation for Sunday Brunch, so I made one, and when I arrived I was told I could not be seated! I saw my reservation listed but they said they could not accommodate me. Great way to build a reputation.

Millburn, NJ
This weekend we hosted my sister’s baby shower on their second floor. Jenna was our main contact, and from the beginning she went above and beyond. They do everything from coordinating napkins to the color of your liking, to hand selecting flowers for centerpieces in beautiful teapots.
Moreover, the staff during the event were friendly, quick, and cheerful. They even helped us carry gifts and supplies up and down the stairs when needed.
Moving onto the food, we selected the tea party buffet. They continue to refill all foods so no one went hungry, and almost everyone went back for seconds. I highly recommend the chicken curry salad sandwich, butternut squash soup, and turkey and Brie quiche. The scones were also a huge hit.
The tea selection, as you can imagine at a tea house, did not disappoint. We picked the raspberry lemonade and honey bear chia. I know one person who had 4 cups of the chai because it was so good!
The venue had lots of natural light, a private bathroom, and is perfectly decorated for a bridal and baby shower type event.
Lastly, they are great with kids. We had three 2 – 4 year olds and they each got their own selection of grilled cheese, brownie, and scone for a reduced (under 3, free) rate.
At the end, everyone talked about how they wanted to go back with their friends!
Highly recommend mulberry house for brunch/​lunch with the girls, or any special occasion you’re planning!

This was my first time at Mulberry House and the food was delicious. The portions are small so don’t expect diner-​sized meals, if that’s what you’re looking for. I had the egg Benedict (one egg) and subbed smoked salmon for the Canadian bacon. They have a tasty Dijon hollandaise which was really perfect with the smoked salmon. I added a side of potatoes and my friend and I shared a blueberry chocolate scone (a special that day). Everything was fantastic! My friend had an omelet (build your own), salad, and potatoes. We also each had tea which comes in cute little teapots. The bill for both of us was $ 37. Not bad at all for Westfield and especially for a cute little place with a nice atmosphere and quality food. I know they also do special occasions like baby showers which are probably very cute with the tea sandwiches and beautiful serving towers. The only downside was that the tea was cold! I heard this complaint from fellow patrons as well. I don’t know if something was wrong with the hot water today or if this is a common thing. I’ll definitely go back and hope that next time I can enjoy the tea, too.

Mulberry house is really cutesy. Full of all different types of tea stands, it’s fun to wonder how they collected them all.
We ordered tea for 3, and it was FILLING. Def getting your monies worth.
Chicken Salad sandwich with curry = SUPER YUMMY
Chocolate chip scone = LOVE (I will be back to order these by the dozens)
Chocolate tart = two thumbs up
Garden salad dressing = eh (no pop)
Apple almond cake = eh (no flavor)
Order the right combo of sands, scones and desserts and its the perfect tea.
Although my tea was served cold, our server was very attentive and there to help with anything we needed.

Truly a different flavor in the world of bunch… it’s nice to see a local restaurant offering the British approach to tea and crumpets with mini sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Most importantly, all of this was executed with absolute perfection. truffled egg salad was a solid standout as was the chicken salad with raisins. The scones were served fresh and warm (chocolate chip and vanilla were incredible).
The mini quiche were packed with flavor, but perhaps a tad undercooked as the eggs were a bit runny (IMO).
The Parsnip and Garlic soup is a MUST ORDER… i hate soup, but i could bathe in this with goggles and a straw.
My only complaint is that service can be a tad slow, perhaps we need to add a server when a party is upstairs because i had to ask a few times for things… and never got my pear juice.
All in all, a solid and unique alternative to your traditional suburban brunch. I love the focus on farm to table cooking and will be back to experience their dinner menu.

The service was excellent from when I walked in the door to when I left. The atmosphere is great and the place is adorable. The food was phenomenal! We got the tea for 2 which came with soup, assorted finger sandwiches, scones and treats of your choosing. Everything was SO good! Also very reasonably priced, which is surprising for Westfield. There is a huge selection of tea and the two we got were delicious! What a great experience! I will definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for exquisite brunch this is the place! Amazing foods and options of teas. The menu is wonderful with their «tea for 2» or more! You get individual tea pots accompanied by your choice of delicious tea sandwiches, sweets and the best scones I have ever had! It also has the cutest upstairs dining area you’ve ever seen and the owner is a doll! Don’t think twice. You would regret passing the place up!

I took a group of very Picky ladies for a birthday brunch. It was great! We ordered a selection and shared so we could sample each and yes spectacular food. The duck hash is amazing and the scones way too good.
Plus it was festive and fun. A great place to celebrate.

One would think there would be more afternoon tea places in suburbia but that’s not the case. I’ve been to a few now and more often than not am disappointed. However, that was not the case here. The restaurant is a house and it’s quaint. The upstairs has a few open rooms where one can have a more private outing. Ordered the tea for 1 which to my surprise was a decent amount of food. I’ve been to other tea houses where I haven’t even left the place and am hungry, this place did not disappoint.
Ordered the arugula salad (yum); crab salad (delish); the hoi-​sin pork (wasn’t as big a fan of this); blueberry scone (nice & warm but a bit denser than the fig); fig scone (really good); chocolate chip scone (pretty good — chips was melted in so not hard bits); lemon tart (tangy); and apple almond cake (not memorable). Should’ve ordered the chocolate tart (looked more like a fudge brownie & by the rate it was consumed, prob tasty). I started with the passion punch tea (however, although it was suppose to be fruity, it lacked flavor and didn’t taste like much) so changed over to the indigo mango (fruity and strong — good). The staff is great at providing more hot water and making sure everything is great. They sorta forgot to ask us if we wanted white or wheat bread for the tea sandwiches but gave a mix with emphasis on the wheat (healthier option at least).
Parking is pretty easy although beware it’s a one way street. Lots of parking further up from the tea house. One oddity is the tea for 2 — certain items are served in odd numbers which makes it harder to share. They serve brunch & regular food here as well. Will return.

Aside from a few hiccups after first arriving (slow to acknowledge our presence in what was a relatively empty dining room), everything went uphill from there. Food was amazing, and the tapas were single portions, but priced right and were savored and shared. Tapas = small bites, but oh… those bites.
Entrees were amazing, we shared a dessert.

I found this place by
chance. I was looking to swap a Montclair coupon I had for one closer to my home in Summit. I am glad Mulberry was a possibility because it was a unique experience leaving me curious about their byo boozer brunches.
I guess this place used to be strictly a tea house with daytime only operation. Under new ownership, I think that with more time it may become a solid dinner establishment.
The bread was handed out individually by the waitress, adding to the charm of this bed and breakfast-​esque place. The variety was interesting with sundries tomato and egg as options. However, the waitress did share that the bread was from the Breadsmith and so when we asked for a second of our favorites we were out of luck. Then, being nosey, I witnessed the customers after us being left with limited selection on bread. This was a but off putting but I don’t own a restaurant and have no idea how hard it may be to budget for bread with walkins, etc.
My husband and I were truly trying to stay within our budget and so in fairness to Mulberry I have to state that as a disclaimer. We decided to forgo appetizers and start with three tapas, each at about $ 3. For $ 3 the portions, in my opinion, were minuscule. Tapas, by some definitions, is interpreted as «shared plates.» Unless you get all the tapas on the menu, they truly aren’t to be shared. We had the octopus, shrimp croûton, and chorizo. They gave us only one shrimp croûton and the octopus was so finely chopped that it was frustrating. I would probably avoid the tapas again and just bite the money bullet and get an app.
I go four here because of the service, BYO, and the pasta. Wow. The pasta MAY have been one of my favorites of all time. Bowtie with sundries tomato, peas and tons of cheese. I posted a picture. The flavor was on point and the portion (after the tapas) was perfect.
We passed on dessert but won’t next time.
I really want to try brunch…

As soon as you pull up to the Mulberry House, you know you’re going to be in for a great experience. It’s a converted old home into a nice, romantic restaurant. We came here and had a
gift certificate, but once we saw the place, we couldn’t wait to dine.
We were greeted by Jenna as we walked in, who was also our server. Really nice woman who explained the origins of the place — they’ve only been open 7 months, so still a very new spot.
Two levels — we were brought upstairs, which is a much more intimate setting and we were thankful for that. It seems they fill the upstairs first, then seat people down low. Plenty of space, didn’t feel crowded. Mulberry has a really nice vintage swag about it — old sconces, wainscoting, and simple décor.
+Bread:
Yeah. I gave this its own category. It was THAT good. Different types ranging from Sun Dried Tomato to Whole Wheat Baguette to Egg. All soft. All warm. All lovely. HUGE plus.
+Apps:
Tapas was our choice. $ 3/​pop, but they’re VERY small, even for traditional tapas. We did the chorizo, shrimp salad, and octopus. This was the place’s only downfall in my opinion. Even though they were labeled as «tapas,» they were smaller than finger foods.
+Entrée:
Farfalle pasta with mushrooms, sun dried tomato, garlic, Parmesan, and olive oil. Absolutely PERFECT. One of my favorite pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time. The pasta was cooked perfectly and was buttery soft. The SDT added a sweet/​sour touch, while the cheese and mushroom gave it a fantastic flavor. Pairing it with our red Zinfandel made it flawless.
Mulberry was a great dining experience, and if you want a vintage, bed and breakfast dinner with intimacy — it’s your spot. The tapas did let us down a bit, hence my 4/​5, but this place is up there for a solid dining experience!
