The Olive Branch Family Restaurant

New owners of a fantastic place with a fantastic atmosphere. The chicken souvlaki is to die for and have many great other menu items. If you want a true greek restaurant with great tasting food then go here and be overwhelmed.

The breakfast food is delicious! I also enjoyed their steak sub, if you get the half sub it comes with fries and is only $ 5.99, super good deal! I haven’t tried the Greek food yet but will next time. I would come back for breakfast!

Very good food– never been disappointed by anything I’ve ordered. Their fries are amazing. I work nearby so I order at least once a week. The only complaint is that they often forget condiments/​sauces/​etc if you order pick-​up, so double-​check the bag.

First visit. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was looking for a diner and this one hit the spot!
I had beef barley soup, a turkey, bacon and Swiss melt, and a salad. Finished it all off with Greek custard for dessert. Nothing particularly outstanding but all done well.

I really enjoyed my lunch here! I love little diner restaurants. I ordered the open chicken souvlaki with a side of tzatziki. My dad order the hot roast beef sandwich with gravy. We both absolutely loved our meals! I am convinced there isn’t a bad thing on the menu.
The open chicken was delicious. The chicken was marinated perfectly! I also really like their dressing. The side of tzatziki was excellent. It was the perfect amount. I have no self control when it comes to tzatziki and would literally eat an entire bowl. It’s nice when the restaurant portions for you!
We stopped here for a quick lunch and it was just that! Our waitress was very attentive. Our food came out really quick! Will definitely be back because I honestly want to try everything on the menu!

Well, it’s that most unique and rare species, a greek themed joint in Western New York. As we approached, I saw an old Denny’s, as we entered, I saw a bar and a nicely sized space with happy folks with generous plates in front of them. One of my go to’s in such circumstances is to try the chicken souvlaki breakfast. The chicken was spot on, nicely seasoned with drowning in dressing, sourdough toast, potatoes that weren’t sitting on the grill since true breakfast hours (full disclosure, I was having breakfast for dinner). It was great, heartily recommend, and I couldn’t quite clean my plate, not that I wasn’t trying. The thing that really resonated after the very pleasant service, was the pricing. $ 7.99 for a Chicken Souvlaki Breakfast? Don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart! That meal crosses the $ 10 threshold in most other places. Between that great value and seeing what the passing plates headed to other diners looked like, you won’t go away from your Olive Branch table hungry or regretting your choice. I’ve always been a little partial to diners, but this one merits the preference.
Go, let a lovely young waitress half your age call you «Hon.» You’ll like it and you will merrily dig into your plate with a silly grin on your face.

If you are looking for real good Greek food, this the place. The open chicken Souvlaki was the best I ever had, and I have had a lot of them. The portion size was huge. They have an extensive menu of just about everything and serve beer and wine. I have had a number of entrees and all have been real good. Service is great!

Good food, large portions! I ordered chicken souvlaki dinner, very good, romaine lettuce (not iceberg). Pita not as good as other local Greek restaurants. I’d come back. ;)

Great service and food. I had the sovelaki with gyro meat. Very tasty. It was a little dry but good.

Very caual — in the neighborhood– kind of place. I had a Turkey Club with onion rings. My sister had the Greek Souvalki. Both of liked everything we had. Nothing spectacular but I wasnt expecting that either.
I really do appreciate when an owner/​manager is present– even at night– it was about 9PM. It makes all the difference in the world.

After passing this restaurant eight million times I finally stopped in to eat. All I can say is I should have stopped in the other eight million times. I had a a Greek salad and the person I was with had a blue cheese burger. Both were outstanding! I cannot stop thinking about that blue cheese burger. I will definitely be making this a regular stop.

Food was excellent. Servers are really nice! Big portions for little prices! I highly recommend this resturant!

I really love the fact that the Olive Branch is open super late (11pm is super late in this region). The prices are decent (comparable to other Greek-​American diners). The service is really nice (they don’t seem to get mad when you order just before closing). All this aside, the souvlaki was just average. I certainly wouldn’t go back for another try with so many other good options in the area.
The chicken was a little dry and needed to be marinated a lot more. The salad was not the freshest I ever had. The Greek dressing was just okay. So that’s the bottom line. Everything is just okay, and in a region with so many delicious and exemplary Greek-​American diners, this one really didn’t blow me away.
But if they’d like to extend an Olive Branch by making their souvlaki wetter, a more generous portion, tastier, and more marinated, then I will accept it and maybe they and I can dovetail together in future.

I was upset to see this Denny’s close. It was THE Denny’s. (25 – 30 year olds know what I mean) I spent many a late night here during high school having nothing but coffee and french fries with friends. I figured it was the end of an era, it would be knocked down, and become another Tim Hortons.
But then it reopened as the Olive Branch. Ok… I like Greek. I’ll give it a shot. Even if the food sucks maybe I can at least take a trip down memory lane and sit in my old booth right?
I’ve been back probably 6 or 7 times since I first went about 4 months ago. It’s fantastic. I’ve gone twice in a week. I’ve brought my Mother, Grandma, Girlfriend and friends with me. They all loved it.
The staff is friendly and attentive, the portions are very generous, but not overwhelming, the coffee is great, and the restrooms are clean.
The food is your standard diner fare, alongside some delicious Mediterranean and Greek. Dishes to try are eggs bennedict, the chicken pot pie, and spanekopita. (I bet I spelled that wrong) A little display of fantastic homemade desserts is present as well. Try the Baklava. I insist.
So there you have it. I lost my Denny’s, but in its place is a new restaurant that I’ve become a big fan of. I might not be able to drink coffee until 3am, but at least I can still sit in my booth.

My friend and I like going here. It is close by (right around the corner), friendly owner and wait staff, and good food. The first time we went here we had the fish fry. It was HUGE! Multiple sides, great fish, good price. I would say we go at least once a week.

I loved the place. Awesome Philly steak panini and huge. Great value for only $ 7.99. I will be back there.

We have been to the Olive Branch twice and have liked it both times. As with most diners, it has an extensive menu with anything you could want, including breakfast all day. Ironically enough, we have not tried the breakfast yet.
The portions are large, which in some places is a camouflage for mediocre or worse quality. Not so here. At the first visit, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which as good but required that I skip eating the bun in order to have room for the chicken. On that trip, I noticed plates for other tables with open face roast beef sandwiches, and they looked large and good. You know how that goes: whatever someone else is having looks better than what you have. Not that the chicken sandwich was bad — it was very good — but the roast beef looked amazing.
On the second trip, I had the open face roast beef, and it did not disappoint. Very tender with a decent gravy. Canned or homemade gravy? I had no way of knowing, but it did not have that overly-​salty flavor of most canned gravies.
Olive Branch offers several potato options, and I recommend the Greek potatoes, which has a slight spicy favor that is not overpowering. The fries are not seasoned and are good enough, but you can get them anywhere. Give the Greek potatoes a try if you want something different.
Purportedly they offer desserts, but we have never had room for them. Maybe one day we’ll try the appetizer and dessert trick. Of course, the appetizers are not exactly tiny either.
